Yep, had to deal with low Level Wind shear called out in a Speci during my second long cross-country. I ended up high and was not going to force it down. I did a go around, took a breath and landed dealing with the crazy winds. I put her down gently. But to say the least, I was a bit scared and glad I did the go around. Never ever force a landing. After taking a break and getting back in the airplane I Looked at the crazy wind socks. After the required checklist items and so on, I took off and I made for darn sure to get extra rotate speed and rotate gently and had to really fly the plane as it was turburlant. . IYK is close to a mountain and then I have to fly close to the mountain to keep out of the Restricted. Got back to my home airport in Mammoth, and the wind changed her mind two times, and then I selected to the runway to land based on the crazy wind direction. After landing I was super thirsty. I did not drink enough water. One or two little bottles of water does not cut it on a Cross-country.
