there is no such thing as an ati x8800XT... that gpu you have there is an ATI Radeon x300 (the dell version GPU) which at the time dell had in many of it's Prebuilts. That graphics card is so old that it is one of the early PCI express video cards during the AGP to PCIe transition period.

the trouble with these cents on a dollar builds is that you're always subject to luck, and the quality of parts in your area. I was just lucky enough to find someones old hopes-and-prayers style dell flipup abandoned at a local thrift store. This thing was someones baby back in the day. They were doing it before it was cool too, using an old inspiron 570 (am3 from 2011) instead of the current choice of an optiplex 7020. This thing was clearly well loved once, they spoiled her with 16 gbs of matched gskill ram, with *ceramic* heatspreaders, and a wildly overspec gtx 960 OC. Probably measured the PSU's abilities down to the watt, cause they even spliced in a sata to pcie power adapter. It felt like a time capsule into someone elses pc journey, especially because I myself started with an optiplex 7020 and a gtx 1070. Proper kindred spirit energy lol. I don't think the thrift store paid attention to what card got put in the old thing though, cause they were selling for 6 bucks. I intend to make full use out of every part of this thing. The motherboard will either be a NAS, or a retro gaming rig. I'm swapping the gpu out for a cheaper one, and the 960 is going in my old optiplex to be sold on as an entry level 1080p system in the inspiron case, with the nicer gskill ram. Not one piece wasted.
Great work on the video, very solid for such a small channel. Only complaint is the music. I watched on mobile and later in the video, the music started to overpower your voice, making it difficult to make out your narration at times
You should punched some holes into the chip box for better ventilation! We also have to ding you for using a bootleg copy of Windows 10 instead of Linux.
I swear I am now tempted to do something like this myself. I hate seeing computer parts unused even if very old. It just feels like such a waste. But I am not good enough myself to tinker with these things unfortunately.
Its really not that hard I put this together over the course of a few months and most of that time was spent finding the parts, the actual building and gaming took a few days.
Not sure if it would be stable but you might be able too do the bsel tape mod too force the cpu too 1066 fsb instead of the 800 it runs at too get an overclock on the cpu too 3.3 ghz from the 2.5 ghz its running now. Also feel free too try Atlas os, which is a debloated windows 10 on this same hardware & see how different the results get, i run that on my ryzen 5600 as i didn't want too spend a while tweaking stuff myself i went with a generic option, you'll need too download some stuff ofc like webbrowser & drivers before you go for installing this version as it might not have the basic drivers & doesn't include a webbrowser.

Nice video, but it would be better if music was both quieter and simpler - it took attention away from the voiceover.
