    These are my favorite videos to make and I prefer not to flood them with sponsorships. The best way to support the channel so I can continue making videos like this one is by purchasing my Lightroom presets here:
    dylanblackburnphotos.com/shop (Use code "DYLANSDISCOUNT20" for 20% off!)
    And I have a collection of prints from this video available for a limited time!

    Your "walking away" shots crack me up. For no particular reason other than to ponder that this shot is becoming a signature of yours now. A sign of the lone video-shooter. Great video, man.

    Grew up near the Blue Ridge Mountains in VA. While there are so many beautiful places in California, I do miss the Blue Ridge Mountains. Thanks for the relaxing video of a relaxing photo shoot.

      After I took thew final photo of the day, a Canadian couple showed up and we talked for a while. I mentioned that while they're may be grander looking mountains in the US, there's something truly special about the Blue Ridge and Great Smoky Mtns.

    Really nice shots man. I’ve been holding out on the a7cii for months waiting for a sale, but you’re making me feel like I’m missing out with these dope videos 😅 I’ve been using my FX3 as my work cam for a couple years and sold my A7Rii 6 months back… but I miss having a “walk around” camera for this stretch. I think I’m gonna go ahead and pick it up, thanks for the inspiration!

    Love travel photography. I did so much in my younger days. Hope to do more. Got to hit Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear Lake while summer is here. It looks so relaxing, no stress. What is fun about travel photography is discovering odd things on the way. The only thing I would do different from you is put on the 20-70mm zoom. I love wide angle lenses, but I have become more enamored with today's very sharp zooms. Works great on my A7CR, black version. Incredible and versatile camera, yet simple enough.

    Seeing you back in the BRM makes me so excited for my trip to Shenandoah this June! I finally have the α7CR and I just cannot wait!!! I may sell off my α7CII to go towards purchasing my 24-70 GM II or keep it as a backup. Anyways this was a great part 2 to your previous trip, and I may plan a trip down the BRM myself for next year! I want a shot of the Linn Cove as well! Thanks man!

    Great video! May I ask, did you colour grade the footage differently? It looks more like your photo preset. Please tell me you're working on a LUT I can purchase!
    Also, I've got to thank you for your walkabout videos. Not only did you inspire me to purchase an A7Cii (that I love!) but you've inspired me to walk around my local areas and take photos. It's all too easy to be nonchalant about your surroundings as you see it every day. I'm also trying to create a record of what the area looks like in 2024 so my kids can see the photos when they're my age and see how much has changed.
    If you ever come to the UK and want to visit the Cotswolds, hit me up!

    • @DylanBlackburn
      @DylanBlackburn  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I did color grade my footage a little differently than normal for this video! I don't make or sell my own LUTs. I personally enjoy using Phantom LUTs too much to design my own, but maybe one day! I could do a small tutorial as to how I color grade my footage as it is a bit more in depth than just slapping the LUT on.
      And thanks for watching the videos man! Glad I can help inspire like minded people because without watching similar videos myself I probably wouldn't be out shooting like I am today. I share a similar sentiment in regards to photographing where I live so I can look back on it one day. In just the past couple years I've already seen significant change.
      Hopefully I can take you up on that offer one day! The UK is one of the first places I hope to travel to internationally and shoot. Ironically I saw a peaceful walkaround video of Cotswolds this morning and thought it looked beautiful. So that will be one of my first stops!

    Hey Dylan, you're such a talented photographer! I love the colors and mood in your photos. In this video, I noticed that your photos have a lot of depth and almost look 3D. I switched from my A7IV to the A7CII last week. At the moment, I'm still using a zoom lens, the 20-70 F4G, but I'd like to shoot more with primes. Unfortunately I always feel like I'm missing out on moments or opportunities if I have the wrong lens on the camera. Have you experienced this during your development as a photographer, too? If so, do you have any tips on how to get over it? Thank you for your work and keep on going!

    • @DylanBlackburn
      @DylanBlackburn  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you so much! That really means a lot to me. I think that once you get used to shooting with prime lenses your shooting style adapts to the focal length. For me, I can picture a shot at 35mm before I even start composing so I know exactly how far away I need to be. So when I go out to shoot I’m not thinking about shots that I would be shooting at 85mm when I have a 35mm on. I hope that makes sense!

    Thank you for the video. I’m curious why you chose the Sony FE 35/1.8 instead of something like the Sigma 35/2i or the faster Sony 35/1.4 GM. I cony decide on what 35mm I want to use trading off size, weight, and optical performance. Do you have a link to a video describing the lenses in your kit? Take care.

    • @DylanBlackburn
      @DylanBlackburn  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The video I made following this one is about why I chose the 35mm 1.8 over the 1.4 GM actually! As for why I chose it over the Sigma, already owned it by time the Sigma released and while I would love to have an aperture ring, I still shoot quite a lot in doors and wide open in general that I value every extra stop of light I can get without using a lens that is large and bulky like the GM (when paired with A7C cameras)

      @stevenwaldstein2249 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@DylanBlackburn Dylan, thank you. Found the video you recommended and it was definitely worth the watch. Right now I’m in that stuck in the middle state between my 35 GM, originally bought for my full size full frame Sony bodies like my A1 and A7RV, and the FE 35/1.8 bought a while back but sitting on the shelf until I add the A7C and now since replacing it with the A7CR. We will see how it goes but your input is greatly appreciated. Take care.
