    What I absolutely love about Chris Stapleton is that he has such a Bluezzz voice. Grow up on the Blues, County, and Southern Rock. Don't get me wrong, I love Led Zeppelin as well. Robert Plant also has that raspy bluezz voice. I enjoy all kinds of different genres.

    Few things- always do his live performances. Couple of his best songs with live versions . What Are You Listening Too, Whiskey and You , Cold - CMA ( one of the showstopper performances he’s done ) .

    Anyone can really favor a certain type of music but country has so much history and is the best at storytelling. It is based with blues, rock, country rap, so many artists and avenues. You have the cryin in your beer heartbreak songs, kickin up your boots dance songs, patriotic love America and all our citizens and songs, sing a longs and such a diverse catologue of voices. You really have to expand your music library. You will be pleasantly surprised by what you find. We are all a little bit country on the inside, even the city slickers.

    Bravo for your courage to go outside your comfort zone. I applaud you. I'm not a fan either. But from time to time I find true tender heart wrenching country songs that make me cry and connect me to my Southern roots. I was born in Enid, Oklahoma. There are more really good country songs out there! Applause. STANDING Ovation for Christopher and new one song country song lover, Roscoe. The Handsome Comfy Couch Host!

      I have to ask...have you had True Southern Country food? Chicken Fried Steak with cream gravy. Biscuits and sausage cream gravy. Just that for breakfast? It's the best! Fried Okra? A big bowl of Pinto beans with ham off a real ham hock bone. Real iron skillet cornbread. The real stuff doesn't have sugar in it. It's not sweet. But you can make it sweet by adding real Honey Butter. Yum! Not kidding. In Texas, you can order Biscuits and Sausage Cream Gravy at McDonalds!!!! It's delicious and will "stick to your ribs" and fill you up and get you ready to round up those "doggies." (cows). Farm with the huge big tractor. Or
      Plow a field for planting. Or go serious shopping at Neiman Marcus in your red high heels and red lipstick and Big Texas Hair Do! Look on Google. Texas Monthly. "Hooray for Big Hair"

    • @ideagirl
      @ideagirl 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      You'd look good in cowboy boots. You can get a good laugh in Texas. Real cowboys wear their cowboy boots with spurs to Walmart. Not kidding. Clang clang clang down the aisles. Note: I lived in Texas for over 20 years, too. The funniest thing I have ever seen. At a Texas hotel outside pool. Teen cowboys staying at the hotel. Waiting to compete the next day at the rodeo. Relaxing and swimming at the pool.
      But no flip flops. They were wearing the only shoes they had to the swimming pool...cowboy boots wirh spurs. While wearing their swimsuits. Of course they took them off to swim. But immediately put them back on out of the pool. You can not walk barefoot outside during the summer. The concrete will scorch your feet!!!

    Your favorite new male country singer is going to be the guest performer on Saturday Night Live this upcoming Saturday.
    Singing live. Usually 2 songs at different times during the TV show. His performances might show up on TH-cam. Or you could record the whole TV show. I thought you would like to know.

    @Roscoe great reaction just sub’d! Chris is a living Legend! Please react to his performance “2023 CMA Awards “White Horse” & “2021 CMA Awards “Cold” (he won Grammys,CMA’s,etc. for “Cold”) He’s in County umbrella but he’s soul,blues,R&B,lil rock & Outlaw Country. His wife Morgane sings harmonies w/him in most of his songs or plays tambourine etc.
    He writes his own songs unless occasional cover/tribute. A 1 in a million artist! Thanks

    Just stumbled across your channel, first video ive watched. I love movies. I love country music for the same reason i love movies... the story telling. Modern music doesnt tell stories. Country is probably the only one left where that is still the norm (excluding the nashville pop/hip hop country). So i guess im curious how you view this song from the point of view as s director. Same concept, different medium. When you close your eyes, what do you see? What do you feel. What does it remind you of? Whats your artistic take on this? What movie would this ho good in?

    • @ThisRoscoe
      @ThisRoscoe  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      2 years ago I would have agreed with you on the storytelling aspect of modern music. But now i can with 💯 certainty that I wholeheartedly disagree. To be clear, i think -most- modern *Western* music fails miserably at storytelling and overall actual quality (I do believe that artists like Taylor Swift and a handful more do a magnificent job at storytelling). But in my international travels through music, as it turns out, it’s the West (IMO) that seems to lack. The Korean, Japanese, Chinese, and Kazakh music has some of the most powerful and well-executed media today. Hands down. Period. The layers upon layers upon layers of stories that are told across songs and albums are so deep and interwoven that it is legitimately mind-blowing. But- it is a tough pill to swallow beginning a journey like that.
      Also, the way you feel about Country music and saying that it has the true storytelling is another place we disagree. In my opinion, one of the main reasons I don’t appreciate that genre (aside from most of its instrumental sound designs) is that the stories all sound the same to me; pickup truck, cold beer, cute girl, blue jeans. It’s nearly a formula.
      But here’s the catch for both you and I: most likely, we just haven’t found the right stuff to appreciate on the other side of the fence, that’s all. And that’s fine too.
      I’d have to go back and listen again in order to maybe craft a scene to place this song ‘Sometimes I cry’ and maybe I’ll do that; that sounds fun. I’ll try and remember to come back and let you know. 😊

    I find it so odd that Chris is regularly classed as a country artist. I don’t hear it at all. To me, Chris is a blues/southern rock/soul artist. I would never in a million years hear his music and think, oh this is country
