I love the fude nib...I m no expert though, so I think you got it down pretty much- high angle=thin line, low angle= thick line. The only thing is, because of how you need to manipulate the nib angle, I prefer a long pen for the fude nib. I have a sailor fude which is about the length of a pilot parallel. That way I can move my hand up a d down the body of the pen and my wrist doesn't have to do all the work. Beautiful colour kaweco though! Happy experimenting 😊

I have so many pens inked! 😂 7 inked for my planner - one for each day of the week. One for my journal, and one for my ideas book.... plus several others that I don't use regularly. 😬😊

I've been following the 3 pen rule. 1 work appropriate pen gets inked, 1 large ink capacity pen gets inked, and 1 cartridge/'converter pen gets inked. So far I've really enjoyed it!

Doesn't it give you a sense of freedom to break the rules? It's clear how much you're enjoying that unusual little pen. :)
Thanks for sharing your fun experience, and for showing us that wonderful pen!

I have soooo many pens inked... Lol. I have 7 retractable that are used for work (each team that I have to keep track of has their own color) & myriad others because I'm an aspiring writer, & each "chapter" gets its own color to help me differentiate since I'm not writing in order. I also have been collecting quotes that I have found over the years & have been putting them into a journal type book so that I can remove them from my cluttered screenshot collection in my phone. Some of these pens I re-ink when they get low, others I clean & put away until I get the urge to start using it again. It is organized chaos at its best! 🤣 🤣 🤣

Using a fude nib, or a flexy, or gold, or a 360degree nib, or anything else, gets better with practice. The more you do it, the better you are likely to get. Regarding artwork, or calligraphy, or playing the viola, it doesn't make any difference if you get "good" at whatever it is. Do you enjoy it? Are you harming anyone by doing it at a sub-optimal level? No? Cool. Do it. Just friggin do it. Life, as Hannah Horowitz has said, is short and hard. Or, as the beloved commie American songwriter Woodrow Wilson Guthrie used to say, "Take it easy, but take it." What a guy he must have been!

I try to keep my inked pens under 30 😂
I always want to play with more color & nib options, got 3 fude inked & love the line variation.
If you rotate the fude nib slightly, you can get a thinner line in the same stroke for flex-like line variation.

I have this Kaweco because of your first video on it and I love it. My first fude nib and first Kaweco sport. It has been great to write with.

That is my rule, too. I have only 4 pens inked. When I finish one, I flush it out and then fill another. When I am using eyedropper filled pens, I lower the number to 3.
It's not that I have a limited amount of pens. I have 12 pens that are waiting to be inked.

I started with a 3 pen rule but broke it.... well....sort of. I have 3 inked up with a variety of inks and then I keep DeAtramentis Document Black in a metal pocket pen. I'm pretty sure I have another pen inked up somewhere in my classroom....dunno where that one is though o O I don't like changing the pocket pen ink so it'll work on any receipts or paper 😊

You have the 55 degree nib there which does take some getting used to. I generally prefer the 40 degree nib myself. I love it for drawing. I have quite a few so I can use several coloured inks.

So I am a fan of fude nibs and have several of the Sailor Fude pens green (very inexpensive pen). I use them in my art and they are great fun for drawing

    Also, what is your job?

In the past, there wasn't an issue about having a lot of pens inked. Because, like many today, fountain pens weren't the cheapest (generally up to easily a day's wages), so unless you were rich, you had only one or two. (Plus, there wasn't the multitude of inks there is, today.)
Gotta admit that, though I prefer that mindset, I regularly have around 5-7 inked. Basically, because I use different inks for different things. And I have at least one for correspondence, which generally stays at home.
Even with different inks for different uses, there's that I also use mostly vintage. So, about the capacity of a standard international short cartridge. Means 2, at least, with at least similar colors, in case one runs dry.
Hopefully, soon, I can get back to only 3 regularly carried (will admit, it's already just one, occasionally, but the rest are still at home).
Wish I could help you about the fude nib, but, though I've used a few, never was successful in figuring them out.

I have the Sailor Profit with the Fude nib. It is excellent for everything, but it requires one minute of practice before writing text.

I have a similar rule but my number is five. Because, one black ink, one red, one green, one blue and one other random ink of whatever colour I fancy at the time.

I like a fude nib for drawing. I was very happy to get a 40-degree fude on a beautiful Leonardo Moment Magico. It’s a piston-filler, so holds a lot of ink which is what I was after since fudes go through ink faster than finer nibs. I like my ink to last a while when I am travel sketching.

3-Pen rule works well, unless there is relocation involved, which might mean 2-3 weeks until you have a good pen system setup in your new place. This should be a caveat to the rule.

I got a Kaweco Sport with a BB nib a while back to use for headings, and the nib was not great. I got so sick of trying to make it work and realised how much I had been enjoying using my Sailor Hocoro dip pen with a fude nib so decided to get the Kaweco BB ground into a fude. It arrived last week and I LOVE it
