The cycling final should have been rerun and what a plonker in that final shoot off because he was a far better shot than Feilding, if Hazelwood had won the shooting and Ripley won a rerun cycling then there might have been a different champion here.
Daley Thompson would have beaten them all! Maybe he gave it a miss this year? Not sure why! Ridley got lucky! Shooting was a mess. Cycling should have been rerun!
Why did they not rerun the cycling?? Really unfair! Looking back it’s so Amateur! They let Fox Swim... even though that’s in the pentathlon... Yet they never let Daley Thompson run the 100 Metres? Even though he’s not really a sprinter. Just an all rounder. BS!

He took part in the 1981 Past Masters and was dropped from pistol shooting and the 100m to ensure he still had 7 events, luck of the draw really.
