  • Easy job to do even if you've never worked on brakes.
    For track use I'd recommend Vesrah pads - very high coefficient of friction.

    Always a good idea to flush the brake system when you do pads. All it takes is an extra 10 minutes.

    Brake cleaner is mostly alcohol based....Also lube the back of the pads and ears to eliminate noise just like on cars.

      Oh, and for the rest of us ... when I looked first at the front left side (2003 SV650S w/ ~21K miles) it looked like it had around 1/4 pad left ... I considered putting it off, but chose to check the other side since it was so easy... and sure enough the right inside pad was almost down to the corner, so of course I changed both sides.
      So glad I found this video. Thank you again!

    You can drill a hole on the end of the pin and put some lock wire to make sure the pin will never fail out should the R Clip fail..

    Never put Silicon on steel, it causes to rust.

      It's coated steel.... Silicone isn't going to make it rust. ALSO. I'd rather have a safe rusty pin than one with no safety factor on top of it (silicone)
