People’s Palace in the Sky needs to be restored and finished to its highest caliber as originally planned. It's the Marcoses' legacy. It's the Filipino legacy, really, because it is for us to enjoy. Please let the Filipino people enjoy this very beautiful and iconic place. A special place that we Filipinos can be proud of. Currently, it's in a very sorry state. Absolutely gorgeous scenery but the palace itself is in a very sad and gloomy condition. Make us proud, please convince the Marcoses and the Filipino people to make it remarkable and spectacular, one of the best public places in the Philippines that we all can enjoy and wonder - Ooh-ahhh!!!.

I was there in 2004 when the swimming pool was still visible. When I visited in 2008 the pool had been filled in and was a flower garden. When I asked about it nobody seemed to know it had been a swimming pool.

Pera ng Pilipinas ang ginamit dyan, pa-impress kay President Reagan. Halimbawa ng hindi matalinong laggamit ng budget ng bansa ni Imelda Marcos. Puro pampayabang na pagmukhaing maunlad ang Pilipinas.

Yes this is a tower which symbolises the true extravagant expenditure of that regime. While oppressed Filipino prople were starving.

Oh boy.. So many waste of resources during Marcos era not because of lack of maintenance of and funding for these white elephants, but due to improper and unproductive spending of money for their useless constructions in the first place (people's park tagaytay, canlubang mansion, national arts center laguna, philippine film center, marcos bust la union, malacanang of the north, coconut palace, folk arts theatre, among others)

Both regimes had their pros and cons
In my opinion both are terrible I improving the lives of the population
Btw the Palace in the sky wasn't meant for tourism it's more like a vacation home
Cons
Ferdinand Marcos was corrupt and excessive and abusive to power and violated human rights(he killed alot of people btw) and and made the Philippine currency inflation to skyrocket, increase the overall dept in the country and he consolated his power,( I mean he become a dictator)
While the Corazon Aquino's failed to keep some of her promises and she didn't even try to regain the economy(which is stagnating at the time) and she didn't even improve the lifelihood of the population and failed to avoid the multiply blackouts and water Shortages(which still has an effect to present day)
Pros
Marcos did put the Philippine on the world stage and world map (kind of)
While Aquino manage to bring back democracy(kind of)

Don’t forget the biggest waste of billions of dollars. - the Batan Nuclear Plant na nakakuha ng malaking kickback si Marcos at ang kanyang crony na si Disini. Building a nuclear plant in a location near an earthquake faultline is the stupidest decision. We paid for this Filipinos with our taxes but didn’t get to feel the benefits. Sayang ang pera!
