- In our latest TH-cam video, we take you on an exhilarating winter camping and overlanding adventure in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest in Washington State. Our goal? To find the perfect campsite where we can immerse ourselves in nature. We explore, finding an amazing campsite right on the beautiful Cispus River, hike around the surrounding area, cook an awesome yummy dinner, relax listening to the rushing water and our favorite pod casts by the fire, then crawl into the 4 Runner's sanctuary onto our makeshift bed for the night. And so, our winter escapade in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest leaves us with memories etched in frost and starlight. I've been camping / hunting in the GPNF since 2006. I typically stay just north of Eagle Cliff store. After watching a few of your videos, you've opened my eyes to what I've been missing. I definitely need to explore more. I'm limited to pulling travel trailer though. The wife refuses to tent camp 🤣You mentioned Matt's Meats, you must live nearby. I'm in BG
Yes there's so much out there. We are constantly exploring and checking out new areas. We just got an adventure trailer for our rooftop tent so we will be kinda limited going forward. But there's tons of disburst campsites out there. We recommend the ONX app or ioverlander app. Feel free to reach out to us if you have any questions. Oh ya we're from Kelso. Lol
@@ourpnwadventures when you say ONX which version. They have hunting, back country, offroad, etc. I'm kinda looking for something that not only has trail information but can also give driving directions without cell service. I get terrible service up there
ONX Offroad. It's a really great app, you can download offline maps and also can navigate with it & Google maps. Also it's not that much money per year. 👍

Don't tell anyone but that's our favorite place to go. There's some great spots up there. Going up there in a couple weeks. 👍
Watching you guys climb into bed in those thick layers of clothing makes me feel so claustrophobic! I'd rather sleep on that unlevel bed from last time D:

Do you guys take out the bottom piece of the rear seat in the back of the 4runner? Cause i do. There is no way that I'm that cramped when I'm sleeping in there. And I've also got my fridge in there, too. Still, it looks like you guys are having fun, but i do think maybe a memory foam mattress that you can add air to it so it gives you the right softness, just a thought so there's no need for a bulky mattress 😅.
No we haven't ever taken that piece out. But we have only slept in the Runner 3 nights. Something to think about if we sleep in there again. We have the right combination of mattresses now with the 2" mattress and 2" aircore mattress from fsr. (Ususlly in our rtt) Thanks for watching, your input, and nice comments.

What happened to the rtt?
We took it off cause we thought we were getting our trailer in Jan or Feb. But not getting it till May now. (Delayed) We will be putting the tent back on in a couple weeks till then.
