The mistakes valve made recently were so bad that I had to stop everything I was doing and make this video right as I woke up.

Do note that the TF2-S2 developers were considering stopping development anyways + they were using assets from the TF2 itself. Technically Valve was well within their rights to take TF2-S2 down. The reason why GMOD is allowed to exist is because the creator got a lisence to use Half-life assets, while things like Counter strike assets are mounted (Users that own the game can only use those assets, the rest get errors).
Anyways, yes Valve was within their rights to take it down. It doesn't make me like the situation more, since it is another cool TF2 project down the drain. All that in a time when the community is more desperate than ever before for an update. It just kinda sucks. Valve is dropping the ball, and yes, yes they should hire people passionate about TF2. In fact, this would be a Win-win situation. Valve will pull in more players into their game, meaning more money, while the developers can work on something they are passionate about (and get paid for their amazing work).
On the AI situation. Yeah, I don't like it either. It is sad that they will allow AI now.

i feel like if valve ever tried to make something with AI generated content people would spam the "if tf2 was updated by a bot" video

I am tired of AI taking over everything!! It is REALLY going to be the downfall of a lot of things...

I think AI has some use cases, but the way 95% of AI is being used to make Art and now Video Games is pretty much straight-up plagiarism.

Theres modding a game, and theres taking a game and porting it in its entirety to source 2.

Well doesn't it use the leaked tf2 source code still? I really don't understand why everybody is so upset when it's their right to take down stolen assets/code.@@therealbottomdweller

All of this "Valve did wrong" I do believe was an outrage without research, do let me explain.
    - Shut down TF2:S2 : Valve found that the project used all of its assets from its very source without Valve permission. Which can lead to lot of code leaking or issue in long term so they have all the right to cut this down before it may become another issue. That's right, I said "another" because there have been some fan made project around L4D that turn out back stab Valve before so they have been more careful with their IP. Not a big surprise, sad, but understandable.
    - Allowing AI: Everyone nowadays hearing "AI" get jump scared harder than Pewdiepie back in 2009, but the fact is that AI has been in videogame for many years, oblviously, they are built in-house and not about using voice. Anyway, Valve open the gate for AI contents not because they want those robot money, it is because they know when they ban AI contents, there are sneaky one who still get their AI games green listed. Valve can't check all of them sadly. So their solution is to remove that block banner but with one condition, they are now openly expose AI games, they let players report if the game was made using AI for the sake of being lazy. I found this to be a good move.
Overall, Valve is not perfect, there are mistakes, but these are not those.

Its not so much that they closed a fan project using source code more than it is them doing this while item servers were down for 36 hours, and bots still conquering casual lobbies.
They saw a team of talented people who ported their game to source 2, and didnt even try to talk to them about maybe working on the game thats currently biting the bullet.
As for AI, using AI is one thing. Its the fact 90% of AI content generators are being used as a glorified version of plagiarism. Bots have been known to use content the developers didnt make themselves. AI art is a good example of this.
