Yup, I do that for Celtic music as well (fantasy writer) I've made a whole playlist for it and everything. Not only do i get inspiration on ideas from the music, but it also just helps me set the mood I want in the story itself. It also lets me lose myself in it and just write on and on.

I used to be exactly like that with one of the houses I grew up living in. My older brother, my twin brother and I used to sleep in a creepy ass basement. You could see the plumbing and nails sticking out from the wooden floor above our heads. You could hear every gargle and groan from the pipes, the drilling sound of the furnace kick on. I swear everytime I turned off the basement lights to go upstairs I would run as fast as I could. However, I’ve learned to embrace the darkness because it’s heavily misunderstood. I find more peace in the dark and being alone, than being surrounded by people in the light. Weird but only those who have also done it Can understand.

Brandy Gambrel might be a rat problem, or a mice problem. One or the other. Ghosts don't normally scratch in the walls, mainly they just are a nuisance. If you start seeing some misplaced things, or get cold spots, or those certain feelings of not being alone, then you MIGHT have a ghost. Or just a lot of issues with your home. Ghost hauntings don't exactly come to those who look, more often, it's the people who don't want a haunting.
But that's just my whole assumption on the thing. I don't know. I'm not an expert.

Short Story (Horror)
Please reply and tell me if you enjoyed it! Without further ado, let’s start.
It’s Winter. You live in a cabin. Your mother is cooking dinner, you can smell the delicious scent of chicken curry in the air. Your father is outside. You see the smoke from his cigarette whoosh up the window of you second floor room. Your brother is in the bathroom. You hear his gaming sound echoing in the distance. Your little brother is out camping with his friends. You see the campfire not far away from your window.
You take a book out and wait for the cooking to end. You start reading, and after some time, you finish the book. After finishing the book, you realize the cooking is still going on and it’s been hours since any sound has been made. Your mother’s curry scent is still in the air, your father’s smoke is still climbing up your window, your brother’s game is still on in the bathroom and your little brother’s campfire is still alight.
You are starving, so you decide to go downstairs. You go down to see the curry waiting for you, all cold. “I must have not heard her call me, I guess I was too focused on the book.”
You start eating and you realize that she must have put in some really delicious meat, for it tastes better than ever. After you finish, you scream to your mother, saying “This beef is delicious, and the chicken in the side is really chewy, but tender in the inside!”.
No response. Weird.
You go outside to check on your father. A cigarette is still lit, layed gently down on the ground. Your little brother’s campfire has now stopped. Your brother’s bathroom light turns off.
You go to your parents room, and say good night. Your parents have no response. Your little brother comes in the room, and tells you about his camping experience. He suddenly falls to the ground, bleeding out.
You rush into your parents room to tell them but only a pool of blood remains on the bed. You go to the bathroom in hopes to find your brother, but a bloodied bath is what you see. However, you see a phone on the ground, playing the game music over and over again. You see your mother’s cooking pot in the kitchen. You see your little brother’s campfire equipment still near the woods.
That’s when you realize that you never had a family. Ever.
A few weeks go by, and you live in a suburban house. Your mother’s pasta fills the air, and your father’s radio is on repeat. You eat the pasta but the meat is a lot better than usual. You compliment your mother on the amazing meat, and finish your meal.
To the people that don’t get the story.
It’s messed up, so here we go. But first, if you want to figure it out once more, feel free to read it again.
“You” in the story always suggests that the meat is great. Then you see a pool of blood in every room you go in, and you realize you never had a family.
This “you” in the story is mentally ill. He basically begs to live in other people’s houses to feel loved because you never had a family. You were sent to an orphanage in a young age.
Since “you” are mentally challenged, you think you are welcomed in the people’s homes. However, you are actually killing the people inside the house, then cooking their remains, creating a meal out of it and eating it. To deal with the gruesome truth, you blame the newton being tasty, and to deal with your killings, you say that you never had a family. You repeat that cycle every single time.
