Subhuman's not really the kind of music I listen to normally but I think it sounds fantastic in-game with the dynamic music system. Here's a breakdown of it.
Sorry the video itself is ugly as hell - I tried a new recording process and it didn't go great - but at least this video's just about the music anyways.

Yo man I agree that this is not the kinda song that I normally listen to but even the game mix on SoundCloud is so good man
I think this song got a bit too much flack upon first release in my opinion
Have you heard the original version? The mixing is awful in that one and most people doesn't like the screamo style used in that one.
@@StyryderX Like I know that it is a nit pick here. Buuuuut... Screamo was the shrieking Emo vocals from like 2008. Where as the uncleans from the Original was a death core vocalist. It's kinda like mixing up Alto and Soprano.

I find it great that, as much as the dmc community disliked the theme we eventually grew to like, love, or just not mind subhuman being dantes theme at all
And then when someone decided to decipher the meaning of the music itself....
somehow they end up makes sense. but yeah that's how a community works anyway. There are always people who stuck up with the past music because you know "Previous game's music is better and always be the best, not even company will change my mind" that kind of mindset. Or massive nitpicking to the point they dont play the game because "our precious Dante" got disrespected by a music theme.
This isn't a matter of people having nostalgia goggles. People started liking it after they changed the vocalist. The original vocalist, Eddie Hermida, had allegations of getting a minor to send him nudes, so they dropped him and replaced him with Cody Matthew Johnson. The original vocals had higher, more shrill vocals that people found annoying. The argument that people had nostalgia goggles is just plain wrong, especially considering how popular Nero's theme is.

But those are usually what i see when people talk about Dante theme in general or when Subhuman is on the topic. A lot of them are like that, little i saw people didnt like the song because of the singer itself. It's kinda difficult explaining how the community can sometimes be too overprotective to Dante. One wrong move, some of the community might say "This ruins Dante blablabla". Even Devil Trigger got some share of hate simply because "It doesnt feel like Devil May Cry" despite massive popularity.
Correction: Michael Barr is the new vocalist. Not Cody.
is there a way to switch to any battle theme from the list of available tracks including devils never cry from DMC 3 and Nero's devil trigger theme? I heard the deluxe edition comes with that option??
Yes it is. You have to access it via Main Menu, then go to the Gallery > select Jukebox.
Subhuman is the Track with the better Dynamic transitions in the game. It really elevates the song for me after not liking it that much at first

The pre-chorus is sooo good 🔥
The technique they used and details, everything about this game dominates this generation of consoles
Not really my style of music at all, but I can't deny it fits.
And the chorus drop really sells it for me.
I love that at a certain point Dante starts to move in time with the music lol great job!
I love getting a badass combo up to S rank and getting the one with the scream at the start.
Dante during intro: Huh, just a few demons eh? Better get the music going to set the mood.
Dante during D-B rank: Okay, let’s get this party started!
Dante during A rank: ‘Bout time I kick it up a notch!
Dante during S,SS or SSS rank: Whoo! This party’s REALLY getting crazy now!

This new version sounds okay than the first one (the one with suicide silence) but for me, this is my least fave theme in the whole franchise. I was expecting a slayer-like or a early 2000's nu-metal theme for dante in this game since he's kinda old and dad-like kind of shit
@@bonelilcaden4651 It doesn't sound the same. This version sounds much better. But it received hate when it first dropped because the original vocalist was a pedophile, not only but people weren't into this theme yet. Remember how big of a transition Dante's music was?

I didn't quite like the Dante's theme when I heard it first time cause, well, not really my kind of music:)
But now I don't mind it at all tbh)
Also I like the chorus:)
4:09 something i noticed in my playthroughs, if you get the instrumental version of "You can not Kill me" it is always silent, BUT if you get an SS or SSS rank during it the Lyric version of "I feel the Devil in Me(Let me out)" will kick in instead of the Instrumental version.
I love how the music adds up the higher your combo rank is.
I know the special edition only came out recently but I would like to see vergil's.
The guitar kinda reminds me of the Burning Basement themes dynamic song that adds guitars when there's a lot of enemies in the room.

when they announced they were going to change Subhuman after the issues with the original vocalist i was desperately hoping they would just make it shitty 80's thrash metal to really appeal to the boomer memes.
I feel they take too much risk if they doing it. I mean they did one with Devil Trigger and Crimson Cloud, and they got very lucky it got a pass.
Subhuman? Not so much.

i really like this content. I hope you continue it with more of DMC5's ost because this is SUPER helpful for modders porting the dynamic music of DMC5 into other games.
I tried to do one for Bury the Light, but failed due to how strong Vergil is.

Funny how this video on mobile version has low volume sounds. Dunno why. But on my PC i can hear it loud and clear (some parts of it at least)

Well Dante's theme is all about it's instrumentals. Vocals were shit but who cares about that in a battle
