Furitek is awesome stuff.. they also have a in-runner motor and python x ESC 4s water resistant set up as well. I run a lizard 10 ESC in my vanquish Phoenix and love that thing.
@@RoadsideRC was driving out of trail on 3 s 2000kv app open temps low and it just about flipped forward power cut so fast. 3/10 sold through my local hobby shop have died. I can still steer and no magic smoke. The other 2 guys has lots of magic smoke. Furiteck says mine is a blown cap but I'm not sure which one
Furitek is awesome. Their esc's have great tunability. I'm running Furitek combo's in 4 different trucks. Once you try one you won't want to use anything else.
@@RoadsideRC it's hard to say my favorite. I really like that we can run an outrunner now without all the high pitch whining. I like that you can adjust the throttle curve in the ESC too. Everything can be tuned to your liking. The only downside is none of the ESC' s I have are even water resistant. I thought about using some conformal coating on them. I have 2 truck running Komodo 10 2500kv with the older Lizard 10 esc's and they run great. I also have a couple SCX24's. One is running the Komodo mini with the Lizard pro ESC and the other is running a micro Komodo and the Tegu pro ESC. They run very good too.
HI Troy, last week I received my ascent and I would like to change the original esc and motor with the furitek combo show in this video; this combo work with the S3 or S4 battery ? thanks
How many plug ins for channels? Thats the big question.. no light options, no winch.. I have the komodo in my fcx lc80. It works great but no options for plug ins Or.. am I wrong and it there another way to have those options?
Didn't look like it crawls slower than the fusion. I'm wanting something for my gmade r1. Not enough room for a fusion. Was thinking outrunner but now i don't know.
@@RoadsideRC I would like to know if esc would work on any system with four well drive that is axle shaft driven, I would think about the this truck as well .
Gonna start using these types of ESCs…..space on some of these rigs is getting limited …. Nice upgrades on the Ascent! I noticed it doesn’t have much articulation like they all do …or don’t 😊 I’ve seen a couple guys pull the inner spring out and it helps a bunch….FYI
Yes! I have not started messing with the suspension a lot on this truck yet. If I am honest - I just keep watching it while driving...and haven't really seen a need to modify the suspension based on performance. It keep driving over things - so I leave it alone!
The outrunner style produces a BUNCH of torque and great low-speed control. The downsides: usually noisy, not waterproof, careful selection of KV is key or it will be slower.
great review,i love there systems in my trx4m trucks,so controllable on the fly,i have been debating trying one in a 10th scale, now i guess ill have too, thanks for the info and see you on the next one
I feel like you missed the chance to point out that the Python X and both of the motors Furitek is pairing with it are capable of 4s, where the Fusion SE and Pro are only rated for 3s. ExocagedRC put the Python X and furitek inrunner combo in his Ascent and that thing on 4s is probably the closest you're going to get to a rock crawler that can race too 😂 Oh, also the fact that the Python X is brushed capable as well, you just have to change settings in the Furicar app. If it's anything like their 24th scale ESC it will kill on a brushed motor.
Only improvement u could make to that setup is swap the outrunner for the perentie 1950kv inrunner... I know.. I know.. just trust me ! You'll thank me later !
So you pay twice the price of a Hobbywing for a squealing esc motor combo that you need a smart phone to use? I don't have a smart phone but I have plenty of program cards so I'll be passing on the over priced squealing Furitek 💥
Thankful for this video because I have Hobbywing Fusion Pros and SEs in all my crawlers and was thinking of trying one of these systems just to be different. Doesn’t look nearly as smooth as the Hobbywing and can’t take the whining noise. Only upside I see is being able to make changes via Bluetooth and not needing to hook up program card. Not really a big deal though because once all the settings are where I like them, I never really have to adjust again
I am a big Hobbywing fan, for sure. It is great to have options. I have put the Fusion in so many builds, that I wanted to try something different. There are folks that really like the outrunner torque and super-low weight. That is something that Hobbywing doesn't offer...and I am not sure why.
The hexfly servo is capable of 8.4v producing 42kg, according to Redcat.
Thanks!
Got mine at 8.4 💪💪💪
Looks super smooth nice upgrade
Thanks 👍 The system really does work very well!

Nice! Thanks for the feedback!
My esc died a month ago on mine. Still waiting for a warranty one to ship. Motor is still working well on my rino and cralwmaster escs
Interesting! What happened to the ESC?

I actually was hoping you were going to post about the furitek setup as I got one but was holding off until I get the DSM chassis. Thank you!
Glad to help!

It will work with either of those - however I think it works really well on 3S.
You can switch forward and reverse on the app also
Good point!
I have been curious about this system i too am a hobbywing fan boy but have been wanting a revolver to try out. Thanks for the demo
Yes! My thought exactly. Love the Hobbywing stuff...but wanted to try an outrunner - and this is a super easy way to do it.

Thats the big question.. no light options, no winch..
I have the komodo in my fcx lc80. It works great but no options for plug ins
Or.. am I wrong and it there another way to have those options?
Those options are all through the receiver - not through the ESC.
Hey Troy did you paint the bottom of the Ascent body black? It looks really good!!!
That is a simple strip of vinyl! I thought it might make the body look shorter.
Thank you!
I didn't even know Furitek made 10th scale stuff. Love their ESC in my 24th scale stuff.
It is really good! I am happy with it.
Curious if you're still running this combo? I've heard a lot of issues with the ESC popping? Any updates on this combo?
Running strong! Have had zero issues.
Didn't look like it crawls slower than the fusion. I'm wanting something for my gmade r1. Not enough room for a fusion. Was thinking outrunner but now i don't know.
Perhaps the video just didn't show it enough. Outrunner motors set the bar for slow crawl. The system would do great in that R1.
Is it a better choice than a fusion pro 2300? For my RTR Phoenix?
Depends on if you want the waterproofing or not. This is NOT waterproof.
How you think this system would work in redcat gen9
I expect it would do quite well.
How's the system holding up? Considering getting one but heard some bad things
So far, so good!
@@RoadsideRC sweet! Thank ya 💪
I think it's worth it for the control !! As always great video !!!!
Thank you!!!
I like the wheels and tires on this rig who makes them?
The tires are the factory tires. The wheels are these: amzn.to/3GszlGK
Just in gold, when they are in stock.
😮 need more info please about the crawler , motor , and the esc please

I'll be doing the dsm chassis on my ascent simply because I don't like the stock motor mount system but that dsm fixes the design imo
