    @samgab Ok, annotation in place...but yes, very easy to make the mistake...and how clever of me to demonstate that ;-) !!! Do appreciate your feedback and eagle eye. Thank for the info on the TL175 leads as I was not 100% sure that Fluke were including them. Cheers,
    Martin.

    @samgab Thanks again...and yes...I will reserve my final choice when I have them both in my hands.

    I have the 28ll it's a great meter, I also have the 87-3 which defaults to DC in amps. Bought both used in new condition. You can find some great deals out there.

    Your daughter is so cute! My wife is due to give birth in only a few more weeks, and I can't wait to be a father - kids are so much fun!.

    @samgab Good eye, I did have it on mico amps...but AC instead of DC....I will add an annotation. Thanks.

    I have one Fluke 28 series two for daily use and I am very happy with it, I have one 87v but I don't use it, continuty beed is more louder on fluke 87v.
    I have one fluke 289 but display is not top quality, is increible in this range of multimeters.

    Great review Martin! I concur with your remark that 115 is very responsive, I also think that it has faster autoranging than 28II/87V models, maybe Fluke optimized hardware or firmware on 11x series. One thing puzlles me, I have not seen or heard lead alert when you switched to mA/A/uA range?

    Will you please consider making a video comparing and contrasting the newest version of the Fluke 28-II and the Fluke 87V-MAX?

    @kiriakost1969 Hi Kiriakost, I tried it, the readings I get before going to the low pass filter are around -318 & -317. I then go to the low pass filter in ACV mode and back to Min/Max/Peak (with low pass deactivated) and there is not much difference in the reading. What are you getting? How far negative is your reading compared to positive?

    wow! i'm replying to a 12+ year old video. but it was one of the best of the many dozens i watched on fluke meters. i had settled on the 87v max before i came across a 28-ii on ebay and came to realize that there were only minor difference. i got the 28-ii in yesterday (in nearly like new condition with box & accessories for $200-250 less than a new 28ii or 87v max) and first impression was not positive as i wanted to replace whatever batteries were in there with duracells and found the battery compartment door an infuriating design. one spring is in the compartment and two springs are on the inside of the door and i'm still not sure it fit together properly.
    anyway, my next big huge disappointment was to find that two of the features i was looking forward to the most which are toggled on with a power on sequence are not persistent. what genius determined that? if i take the trouble to turn them on then i want them on--i don't want to have to turn them on every single time i power on the meter. the smoothing and the higher resolution are the ones i'm talking about, but indeed it doesn't look like any of them are persistent except the ºF/C setting so they at least understand the concept.
    anyway, many thanks for the video. /guy

    Very nice review. I couldn`t find any informations about continuity test voltage on the internet for 28II, maybe you know what value it is? There is some IC`s which works at 3V or less, and when cheking continuity to some electronic boards with higher voltages(which 87V has, 7V), could destroy an IC on the board.

    No the 87V is not water proof.
    Fluke 27, and 28 series one and two.

    But can it survive sitting in the top of a toolbox on the back of a ute bouncing around on rough roads for 10s of thousand of kms a year?

    I tried looking it up on the net but what does a latching continuity mean. And what is a non latching. is it the speed?

    hello, I am posting this on a very old video here hope u will see it in ur notification.
    sir I own a fluke 28-ll multimeter and want to know about what happens if set the meter dial to microamps and the black test lead in COM port and red test lead in microamps port and start testing the voltage which is 220 volts AC.
    I am asking because an electrician came to my place and I offer him my fluke meter for troubleshooting. He set the dial to microamps and put the test leads on the microamps port and start testing voltage which is 220 volts ac.
    will this type of incorrect usage effects the meter accuracy or some little or severe damage to the meter.
    kindly give ur suggestion on this thank you
    I already check the 440ma fused is blown will this is the only damage done or there is more happen with the meter.
    Thank You.

      @kinsuntung4284 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the 440ma fuse is blown before the 220 volts AC damage the meter electronic circuits then the fuse is probably the only damage done, however as you may know even fast acting fuse still takes time to blown and 220 volts AC is powerful so .... wish you good luck, or the circuit board needs to be replaced.

    Isn't the 28-II basically just an 87-V with IP67 rating ?

    whats the differnece between the 28 and the 87?

    • @PHXGlock
      @PHXGlock 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The 28 has 3 AA Batteries and twice the battery life, the 28 is water proof to like a meter for 30 min and the is bigger and tougher
