Opening Up 💫 Beautiful Sarah Mack Inspired Straght Pour! Turquoise, Violet, Zinc & 24K Gold!

Hello Friends!
I've been watching my beautiful friend Sarah Mack's videos lately, and am always mesmerized and inspired by her beautiful straight pours! Today I'm going to do a 'Sarah style' straight pour!
My Colors are:

I layer my cup using smaller layers like Sarah does, and more layers than I usually do.
I pour a straight pour and end the pour with a small spiral to give us a nice center.
I pour some of the gold around the pour, then a thicker ring of white around that.. I'm using my drips from my last pour as my flow extender so I thin that out and pour that around the my pour. I make sure I have enough paint on the corners. Then I start to tilt it and one side opens up so beautifully! A very cool pattern that is bright and colorful emerges.. i love it!
I tilt to cover the corners and try to open up the kindle around the center more.
This one turned out really cool! Not quite the same as Sarah's pours but im happy with it, and I really love the section that did open up.. the Quinacridone Violet reminds me of bougainvillea.. that gorgeous pop of dark pink is really cool! I remember an art project in school, tearing tissue paper into the shape of flowers or petals, the gluing them to paper.. the opened up section really reminds me of the crinkled up bougainvillea made from tissue paper.. so pretty!!
I'm not sure if you guys have seen Sarah's channel lately, but in her last video she opened up to us about some health problems. I admire her so much! She is so smart and funny! She will be having surgery then be recuperating for a few weeks and won't be able to pour. I'd like to ask you all to please go check out her videos and send her some love .. donations are always welcome.

This is absolutely beautiful!!!! I love the part that looks like fire flames and if you used some warm colors with a few blues you could pour one like this. Just a thought. This is one of my favorites.

I like it! It's very pretty and swirly and soft.😃💓👍 I think it's kinda funny that you use such a huge torch. I remember the first time I watched you, after seeing a few others with their little chef torches, and you grab this "I mean business" torch, I was a bit shocked😳😄. Thanks for explaining where the 28 comes from in figuring out your amount of paint.
Your pieces are amazing and I enjoy your videos so much I run to the computer every day to see if you've posted a new one! Thanks to HoA for filming! I struggle with my own pours but I am learning so much from you. No matter what I do, though, I never get the cells you do. The only thing I don't use is the Decoart Satin Enamel in Pure White, but only because it's sold out everywhere I have looked, even at Decoart! (I think you started something, there!) very nice result but a lot of wasted paint ....and the paint that is left on the table could be scooped up and laid on another canvas or card , but you destroy it by sliding your canvass through it again and again .

This is beautiful, I love those colors. I am new to acrylic pouring, and I do have a question that I hope you can answer. When you do a straight pour, why don't you move the paint in a circular motion so that the rings that you have poured stay as rings?
Hi Kristine! A straight pour actually does not get poured in a circular motion, if you pour it in circles or rings then its a ring pour. The terminology can be confusing. I have also done pours where I start off with a Straight Pour, then do some rings, then go back to a straight pour.. I started calling that a Fantasy Pour because it creates some really fantastic effects (and I got tired of typing 'ring pour and straight pour combined '). The way you layer the cup is important too, for example a 'dirty cup' means the paint is all poured into each other in the center of your cup.. vs. A 'layered cup' where the paints are poured in carefully down the side. As you paint more and read posts it make more sense.. 😉 have fun with it, there is lots to experiment with!
