    A beautiful piece of wood, Patrick. The brushed finish on the titanium looks so nice, too.

    This one of my favourite rings that you’ve made. I’ve done a lot Carpentry and joinery and have a love for wood styled accessories. You did a Stella job on making it with that “warm” appeal. Agree that the brushed finish adds to the character instead of polishing it👍 my fav so far

    You should make a ring with tigers eye stone in it, that would look awesome!

    It's no matter how many times I see one of your vlogs it never ceases to amaze me
    How well you perform what you do. Even though some of it is time lapse photography
    It is and never ceases to amaze me. I enjoy everything so far that I have seen you do.

    Love this ring. The wood and metal play really nicely next to each other and help set each other off. Suggestion: Could you do one of these with different woods to show how they'd look (eg Oak, Pine, Ash, Cherry, Walnut, etc). Of all the rings you've made, this one looked relatively simple to do so its probably one of the most feasible to do a series like this with?

  • @jonashapp3867
    @jonashapp3867 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I like this one a lot! Much better than any of these glow power and colourful resin rings - I would not wear them, but this natural one is absolutely gorgeous! Maybe try to go out into the forest and look for stones or wood that you could use for future ring projects! As an example an old piece of wood, try to clean it with a brush, then dry it as much as possible and then a resin infuse to make it harder? Just my theory ... I'd love you trying this!

    Very cool ring, I love the simplistic style of it. You can use CA to stabilize the wood while you cut it, can give you a better cut accuracy.

  • @masoncraine650
    @masoncraine650 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Helpful Tip: at 3:50 you are boring out the metal on the lathe, but the tool you are using is called a center drill. It is made to only create precise starting holes for larger bits, see how it has no flutes on the larger diameter. That can’t be good for the longevity of the center drill. I would recommend getting a full sized drill bit to bore these out. It will cut cleaner and faster and last longer.

    I had an idea for a cool ring you could do the ring from lord of the rings and make the gold ring but for the markings on the outside you could engrave that and fill it with orange glow powder so it would look like fire(sorry if i did a terrible job explaining that)

  • @alexgalindo7852

    I am a fellow machinist, and you should try doing inlays. I've made several myself and my family loves them. I made a super thin ring for my father since he likes not feeling like he has something too heavy on his finger.

  • @stuarthayward2220
    @stuarthayward2220 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    That's a really nice looking ring! Man that seems like a lot of work considering it only fits one finger size. Fine for a custom order but if you're making many for display, dam!

  • @Velocity_AU
    @Velocity_AU 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I've been dabbling with ring making myself, but a 3d printing side instead, using things like PLA Wood fill filament and soon PLA Stainless Steel Fill filament (need to buy a 150 brass and ruby nozzle first or the steel filament will destroy my nozzle) and then making them look awesome, like i used shoe polish as a stain on a wood ring i printed and it looks beautiful. And if i get a multi material printer, i can do fancy wood and metal patterns! 3d printing is awesome!

    Hi Patrick, I'm a big fan of your channel and you have given me many great ideas. I'm also happy big fan of another, smaller ring making channel called Tempest Rings. He is a skilled ring maker but he has not got the attention he deserves. I recommend you have a look at his channel and maybe do a Collab video. That would be very cool considering some of his and yours rings. If you look at his infinity ring this will show his skill.

    Hey Patrick, i attempted to find my answer in the comments but could not. Are you using a standard wood lathe or is that a special combo type? What speed do you turn at for metal? I got an adjustable JET wood but i only turn pens on it, just curious. It’s a lot of work but please keep up the videos, amazing craftsmanship
