My dad has a huge garden that’s fenced in PA. He got some digging under the fencing a few years ago. He put out a live trap and found a skunk in it the next morning.
This video is useless. The suggestion of laying hardware cloth against a foundation is idiotic. Groundhogs just dig under it. I have an ancient farmhouse. (Frankfort, Indiana.) It has a half basement, and half crawlspace. The frost line is about 30 inches, so the foundation of the crawlspace is about 30 inches deep. Groundhogs just dig beneath the foundation of the crawlspace (30 inches, as I said) and PRESTO, I find a dangerous, vicious, wild animal inside my house. Until I solve this problem by establishing underground barriers protecting the crawlspace, I rely on traps. HavaHart traps are excellent (no - I own no stock in the company). Apple, carrots, and celery are excellent baits to catch groundhogs. (They are easy to catch - just find their customary paths, and put a trap nearby.) Then you must eliminate the captured groundhogs. Do so, as you see fit, and in all legal manner.
That must be because someone else is getting rid of them. They multiply almost as bad as rabbits if left unchecked. I had one under my shed and 3 months later there were FIVE.
I get rid of them with lead, works every time 🤣🤣
Sick!

I was told by an exterminator to throw juicy fruit gum down around the area. It eats the gum and can’t pass it so that stops them.
Why does that stop them though? Wouldn't you just have a constipated groundhog die under your house.
@@shanetaylor761you would but death is a mell that repels so I guess you weigh the pros and the cons
Groundhogs will just dig under your garden fence to get in or they will just climb the fence.

Fish & Wildlife said it’s illegal to relocate them. They even Suggest you find a hunter who enjoys target practice😁
Had four spending time around yard and following year they were gone. This year..none appeared.

Leave the groundhog alone. You don't have to pay it alimony.
