Once I saw on the new, a runaway loco, a cop tried to chase it on foot and fell over, a train driver chased it a caught up with it stopped the loco! I believe is the USA most trains (freight/passenger) the brakes uses air-pressure to apply the brakes really really stupid! Those air tank can only hold x amount of Kgs of air, once their empty, not air, thus no brakes! Not Like say in Australia they use air-pressure to release the brakes - Fail Safe - George Westinghouse!
The Runaway Amtrak #203 speeds down the mainline at dangerous speeds after the operator was knocked unconscious. They stopped #203 and saved the people. Some random boy decided to be mischievous
With the only incident being the engineer and or conductor of the Amtrak locomotive allegedly shot dead before someone climbed aboard the locomotive as like the series on the runaway UP locomotive has those know the fear of getting caught has them put the locomotive in motion before jumping out when the crew of a BNSF locomotive seen the runaway and had given chase not before catching up and stopping the runaway.
