So I started listening to this Playlist at about 9:17pm and it's now 3:30am. I can see why you are called the singing scientist, your knowledge and ability to get said knowledge across to someone who loves to sing and is a closet singer I have learnt so much from watching your videos. I am a teacher, well I used to be before I was given two years to live. I can recognize your ability to teach from just watching a few of your videos from glee and your other videos. I feel that you should have millions of subscribers. Thank you for your amazing talent and extensive knowledge. 😊
Some originals we love more, not particularly because they're great or better, but because of the nostalgia attached to them. Some Glee versions we love more, not because they're better, but because it was the first time we heard the songs ever
SOrry, for me "Somewhere only we know" by Darren Criss is a masterpiece! The scene described a farewell, that's why so much sadness.

she cried for real, i remember in one of the glee cast interviews she was asked , was her tears real, she said yes because that song is so personal to her , and directors let her to show her real emotions, and Chris Colfer (Kurt) was crying for real as well

Jazmine Sullivan is actually AMAZING and her voice is so unique it's hard to compare it with Amber Riley. They have different styles, and are experts at different things. HIGHLY recommend watching her tiny desk. Her control is out of this world and her melismas are crazy!

Jazmine Sullivan is still doing a lot of music. She won two Grammys this year for Best r&b Album and Best r&b Performance for her song Pick up your Feelings

My favourite Glee covers of all time are Naya Rivera’s cover of “Valerie”, Chris Colfer’s “Rose’s Turn”, Lea Michelle and Idina Menzel’s “I Dreamed a Dream”, Lea Michelle’s “Rain on my Parade” and Naya Rivera’s “If I Die Young”

I just love that Barbra’s was live. The fact that she opted to skip a pre-recorded track (against everyone’s recommendations) because she felt the moment demanded authentic emotional truth.

Some glee songs weren’t pre recorded. If the producers liked how they sang while filming they kept it

If you listened to the live version of Darren's Somewhere Only We Know you might like it. He's a lot more emotional live and the arrangement is closer to the original song, with heavy piano.
I would love a part 2, this is such an interesting format and I would like to see more glee videos like this.
My man by Lea is definitely my favorite! Of course, I know it's Barbra's song, but I get so involved in Lea's performance.
Amber Riley rocks 100000%. And Lea's "Roots Before Branches" has so much emotion at the beginning of the song that we didn't see here - I ugly cry every time I rewatch that episode. :)
Um hello?? Jazmine Sullivan dropped one of the best R&B albums last year which won numerous awards including a Grammy for best R&B album! She did disappear for a few years, but she’s back now and better than ever. Maybe you should react to her Tiny Desk performance.

I absolutely love this cover of How Will I Know. I know it's very different from the original but I love that it's acapella, I just like the production of it better and OMG their voices together!!!!
Jazzmine Sullivan is a Grammy winner as of this year. She won multiple of I’m not mistaking. She still makes music and is in my opinion one of the greatest vocalists to touch this earth
jazmine sullivan released an album in 2021 which won the grammy for best r&b album in 2022! she is unparalleled when it comes to modern r&b vocalists -- i highly recommend reacting to her tiny desk performance

I'm not sure if anyone mentioned this yet, but the blonde lady singing the original "roots before branches" was a vocal coach for glee and the glee project. She worked directly with the singers in the studio quite often. possibly for the entire show?

That's wild speaking on Jazmine Sullivan like that being a vocal coach. PLEASE watch her live version of "Pick Up Your Feelings"and I'm sure your mind will change. She's considered a vocal anomaly in the R&B world.

The song roots before branches is by some of voice coaches that work on the set of Glee. Room For Two is the name of group its members are Adam and Nikki Anders.
I don’t know how they do but sometimes Glee versions are sometimes better so far than original 😍👌🏼

Loved this! Please do a part 2, *AND* I would love for you to do Glee's first time they covered vs the Glee 100 cover. On their 100th episode, they polled fans and redid versions of the top favorites from the first four seasons. I believe they aired 8 "new" versions.

i just realized the last song's original artist is the glee vocal coach you can see her as the vocal coach on the glee project with the contestants. and after some research it looks like it was their only song and maybe only done so glee could cover it?

Jazmine's version is... resigned. She's tired of dealing with the fboy and wants him to understand her hurt and frustration. The Glee cover just screams "bass-less r&b thirst trap for fox TV audiences". They didn't let Amber tell a story and focused on cheerleaders in bikini tops.

Amber's version is so good but you can tell how the production of her version is more pop than RnB. I would take the original just cause it's true to RnB but Amber's is straight fire.
Honestly as someone who watched glee when it aired and loved it (still do) Im kinda bummed by these choices, theres so many songs that were better on glee that wouldve been cool to compare. Aside from like 2 of these I forgot the others even happened they just arent as memorable for me. You should do more cuz this would be cool to see more comparisons of other songs

Jazmine Sullivan is still pretty big in the R&B scene especially with her last album Heaux Tales which won a Grammy
Jazmine has honed in more on her talent as her voice did change from when she was a child to Bust Your Windows
Now she’s got great control over it and the sickest agility that even Brandy, Mariah and Beyoncé have praised her for her vocal’s especially for having the most creative and seamless yet clear riffs and runs
i would choose all the glee versions but barbra and whitney, they can't be beat 💁🏻♀️

You should check Jazmine's Pick up your feelings live version Audrey :) She is one of the best vocalist of this generation imo :)
For context,
For Glee's performance of "Roots Before Branches", the reason I liked the version better, was because it was more emotional because she was leaving Lima and Finn, and heading to New York.
Also for their performance of "How Will I Know", you literally have a powerhouse of the best singers in the show; Kurt, Rachel, Santana and Mercedes.
The Glee version of Don’t You Want Me by The Human League is significantly better, it’s hard to compete with Lea Michele and Darren Criss 😂
