Thanks for putting that Ben Bova series on my radar, and I have a copy of the Deed of Paksenarrion omnibus which I also want to get to. Plus that Han Solo trilogy sounds intriguing!
I finished the 6th Arliss Cutter Alaskan thriller Bad River and enjoyed it, it wrapped up some multi-book plot threads, although I skipped the Lola chapters until later. Some of Grampa's man-rules: "Always look sharp, show gratitude, be slow to anger but quick to action."
I just finished Mars by Ben Bova because of your recommendation and loved it but now I have to find more of the Grand Tour Series so I can see what happens. Thanks for the suggestion and for your great channel I really enjoy watching.
I’ve finished two this year: The New Jedi Order and Percy Jackson (the original five, more have been released since). By the end of the year I intend to also have finished The Elder Empire, Mistborn era 2, The Innsmouth Legacy duology, and possibly the Dark Nest trilogy
Hi Jonathan. My name is Julie. It's nice to meet you. This year I have not completed any series, but I have started and continued with a few series. I am currently working on the last book in the Mistborn era 2 series, the Lost Metal, which has been hard to finish. I am also working on listening to the third book in the Century trilogy by Ken Follett, the Edge of Eternity. I also read while listening to the Queens Shadow by E. K. Johnston and Splinter of the Mind's Eye by Alan Dean Foster which were both good. I have also Read while listening to the first 4 volumes of the Apothecary Diaries light novels series, which was amazing. I have also read while listening to the first 5 volumes of the Full Metal Panic light novels series which is also amazing. I also read volumes 10 to 19 of the Ancient Magus Bride manga, which was good, but not as great as the first arc was. The only books and or series that you mentioned that I have read are the Twilight saga and the Divergent series. I was not a fan of how New Dawn ended. Divergent was interesting, but I have not thought about the characters since, but it was good.
That's pretty great. According to Goodreads I'm at 23, which is crazy. Majority are backlist, a few are final installments that were released this year.
You should read the Empire of the Wolf trilogy by Richard Swan i it’s fantastic. The first book Justice of kings takes place in a small town it’s kind of a murder mystery with Grimm dark fantasy elements and then the series expands with tyranny of faith and trials of empire..
Have you read Kim Stanley Robinson's Mars-trilogy? If so, how would you compare Ben Bova's Mars-trilogy to it? I read the former one's trilogy and definitely liked the idea and the plot, but was put off too much by the hard science and the too high overview approach (lot of development was done in the background and you didn't get much feeling for the actual colonization of Mars in the end). I'm hoping Ben Bova is a little less-sciency and has a more down-to-"earth" approach?
I have the Kim Stanley Robinson Mars books, but haven’t read them yet. Bova’s books seem realistic, but not bogged down in too much science. Although there is some present.
Jonathan, how would you compare the Divergent series with other similar series like Hunger Games and Maze Runner? Please do review on Han Solo trilogy.
I do have reviews for each of the Han Solo Books. And I thought that the whole Divergent Trilogy was excellent. I personally liked it better than the Hunger Games, even though HG came first. Haven’t read Maze Runner yet but I do intend to!
@@jonathankoan Oh you will love them. They all serve as standalones pretty much but I would recommend the Death Series first starting with Mort, then Reaper Man, Soul Music, Hogfather and Thief of Time. Small Gods is also fantastic. Terry Pratchett is the undisputed king of comic fantasy for sure.
Well done! You spurred me on to making a series list of my own, those I've completed, DNFed and yet-to-complete.

DEED of PAKS! That's such a great trilogy! :D

@@caleblikesbooks finishing the new jedi order it’s like finishing five trilogies. 😂 A Huge Achievement.

Twilight Saga, watch the last movie. The end is fabulous. It might be best on film.
The Low trilogy looked interesting
This year I finished the Thrawn Ascendancy trilogy.
A great trilogy!
@@jonathankoanI also finished the Landover series this year 🙂

I need to go check how many I’ve completed. I have no idea. Ha
Do you read or have you read any Terry Pratchett?
I’ve not read his works yet, but I do own The Color of Magic and intend to get to it eventually.
