Hello Sujata, The best and budgeted option to reach Munroe is via train. There is a station called "Munroturuttu" which is right in the center of this Island. So if you are at Varkala, then search for trains from here till Munroturuttu station or another best way is to come till Kollam via some express train and from Kollam till Alleppey you will get many trains which stops at this Munroturuttu station. So in this way you can easily reach Munroe Island in a comfortable and budgeted manner. And in this Island there are many budget home stays and hotels where you can stay for 1 or 2 nights and explore this area. In my opinion some of the budget stays to choose between are as follows:- 1. Munroe garden homestay. 2. Munroe heritage inn 3. Royal Munroe palace homestay. 4. Munroe coconut homestay. 5. Munroe nest homestay. 6. Munroe green land by Voye homes. 7. Munroe paradise. 8. No. Generally for sunrise and sunset kayaking, it's a long route of total 3 to 4 hours. So for these sessions they provide only single seater kyaks (no double seater kyak). So kids cannot be accommodated in those kyak (only one person can sit) and individually on a single seater kyak also they will not allow a 8 year kid to do self kayaking. Thank you 😊👍🏼
