Well it's because she thought Julie Powell's blog was a publicity stunt and it kind of was. On almost every recipe she complained about hard it was to cook the dishes, never wrote how it came out, it was basically a blog full of witty remarks with alot of cuss words and a little here and there about what the actual blog was suppose to be about...food.
I held my knife like that in my cooking class in HS and my teacher almost failed me for an assignment. She said I had to put thumb on top of the knife. 🤷♀️
I love that the old tutor was kind and encouraging to Julia, not condescending or rude like the administrator.
