Living in Roseland as a kid was a terrifying experience, but still makes me wanna go back and revisit that childhood for an odd reason.
I'm from there too 102nd & Perry & 104th & Wentworth. I've lived many places, but I always find my way back home (Chicago).
Brian is an awesome Chicagoan, knows a lot about his city and becomes cool with everyone he meets 💯
I really wasn't sure what to expect when I saw the name Hood Eats- A lot of people who are doing fine have a tendency to treat economically depressed areas and people as a sideshow, so I was fully expecting that... Man I've been watching these videos all morning and your love and compassion for the city and the people shines, it's really refreshing. The bike aspect is just a solid bonus.

I always thought it would be cool for someone to ride around different parts of Chicago (especially the South Side) and here we are. I grew up at 116 E. 117th PL and Michigan... Roseland AutoParts was on the NE corner. I lived in the 3 story 2nd house down the hill on the Northside of the street. It was yellow, but it's blue now. Thanks for shining a positive light on the neighborhood. On Friday and Saturday nights in the summer time, if you listen really hard, you could hear the guys racing on Frontage Rd. Maybe one day we could ride together! Stay safe!
