I really appreciate how he thoroughly answers each question. He doesn’t have that “hurry, onto the next” attitude. He really cares about so many great issues and will take the time to speak about them.
I just love him so much. Such an intelligent, well informed, well spoken, loving human being. I'm grateful we have JVN and he reminds us there is so much work to be done!
Can’t wait to read his book!!! I’m sure I will love his vulnerability and honesty, those are my favorite things about him! Such a deep and caring soul ♥️🍁
What a great and informative interview. Jonathan speaks beautifully and eloquently about his struggles and he's so candid and open. His take on healthcare is spot on. Those words were so much needed. I bought Tan's book months ago and I will pick up Jonathan as well. They both are intelligent, smart, human beings and those are the stories we so desperately need right now.
Jonathan is so brave. I love how transparent, strong, passionate, compassionate and caring they are. I just learned about this book and I am going to buy their audiobook and hair products!
JVN is the real deal! I've heard about his activism here and there in other interviews and I'm really happy he got to write a whole book and he's now doing solo interviews. He has so much to say! And we should listen to him!
JVN is so genuine and he has opened my eyes to a a lot of things, from personal experience of someone very close to me having HIV, it is sooooo stigmatized and it’s so horrible. If you could imagine not having a life saving medication available to you it is a scary life to live… it is so expensive and without support, help, and guidance, I just can’t imagine how it feels to be in that position. That is the life people with HIV live and I love that JVN is speaking about it. Thank you JVN! ❤️
Who would have thought just how prophetic what they are saying would be? They clearly outline systemic issues and that is what our whole fucking world is looking at and dealing with right now. We as a community need to cherish this person for they are so very needed and special. What an incredible roll model.
So is he okay with being called a man? I only ask because I’m watching an episode of queer eye where someone refers to him as a man but Jonny didn’t correct him.
I just wonder sometimes, how many people would actually want an LGBT child in their lives... Almost none i guess. Here comes the need for self love which each LGBT person should and must embrace.
I don't know, most people I know would be happy with it. I think it depends on your community and whether it seems like a big deal or a thing that would be really hard for them, or just an interesting small difference.
Hi, Jonathan. I learned recently you are HIV+. Sorry to hear that. You said you take medication for it. Are you completely satisfied with the medication, or does it have any unpleasant side-effects as medications often do? I wonder if the diet I've followed for 14 years that helps with my eyes might help alleviate your HIV, and possibly help you reduce the medication. Basically on my diet I live about 92% on cow milk and cow cream. So every day day 92% of my diet or more is some kind of milk--nonfat, 1%, 2%, or whole--and I sometimes buy pints of fluid whipping cream and drink them straight (fluid whipping cream is strong but delicious.) When I eat a lot of solid, mixed food, my eyes hurt and vision blurs. But when I live on this 92% milk and cream diet they feel better and work better. I will try to explain why I think it works. When you eat or drink something, your body breaks it up. If it's solid food, first you chew it, and then, whatever you eat or drink, your gastrointestinal system breaks it up even further. Then your system extracts the nutrients from the food and sends them in your blood to the cells to nourish all the cells. Based on my experience, I would say that even though your body breaks up solid food, it doesn't break it up completely, and when the nutrients from the solid food reach the cells they clog and irritate the cells, leading to pain and disease. Milk and cream, on the other hand, start out much smoother than solid food and then the body breaks them up even more, so when the nutrients from the milk and cream reach the cells they don't clog them as much as solid food nutrients, so the cells function better. This is why I think my diet might lessen many diseases, including cancer, HIV, MS, etc. Additionally I think for any disease weight loss is important. Although your weight looks okay it wouldn't hurt to lose a few pounds. I do think my diet helps with weight loss because milk and cream are delicious but they're largely water, so the diet fills you with zero-calorie water. Also, I think a person thinks more clearly on my diet cuz their brain isn't clogged with solid food, and when you think more clearly it's easier to control food intake. One thing about this diet is that when you drink milk you do end up having to urinate some. When I'm going to something where I don't want to have to urinate, such as a movie where I don't want to have to leave in the middle to urinate, I drink some cream some time before the event. Cream is good because it gives me a lot of calories to sustain me, but it doesn't have much water so I don't have to urinate as soon. I suppose if one were at work and didn't want to have to urinate too much one could drink more cream also. There are some more aspects to this diet but I don't want to overwhelm you by giving you too much. If you write at milkcowsmasai@yahoo.com, I'll tell you some more. If you do try the diet let me know how it goes. If you don't want to try it, let me know why not.
Disappointed he endorsed Warren over Sanders. Sanders has been a champion of LGBTQ since his Mayor of Burlington days over 3 decades ago. He started its first pride rally, helped stop LGBTQ housing discrimination in his town, voted AGAINST the Defense of Marriage Act in the 90's when everbody was voting for it (including Hilary). #Bernie2020 #NotMeUs
Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders are nearly identical in views and in the longevity for fighting for their beliefs. Each senator is incredibly accomplished and very true to their morals and tenacity. I will happily vote for Sanders or Warren and I truly do not see why anyone would be for one and not the other. I understand preferences, but to be disappointed in one or the other is silly. They are fighting the same fight in the same way. I have noticed that men, particularly white men, they tend to love Bernie, but somehow do not support Warren as well. It isn't logical or reasonable from a political stance. It does seem people, particularly men, display unconscious bias when it comes to female candidates running for president. Like not voting for Hillary Clinton when the other option was legitimately laughable Trump, who has harmed minorities and disadvantaged groups, yet people claim it was a *moral* issue to vote for Hillary or not because she screwed Sanders, when the right morals would be to protect everyone and our country by voting for the best option.
Not to mention, much to my disappointment, Sanders is not in favor of doing away with the filibuster, which is what allows the Republicans to drag their feet and avoid making laws, while Warren supports getting rid of it.
