BAGGING BREAM on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal | Fishing in Lancashire.

- Bream fishing on the Leeds and Liverpool Canal in Lancashire, using a waggler float. Traditional fishing on a natural venue. I feed two parts of the swim, one using groundbait and sweetcorn, and the other using chopped worm. I alternate between worm and sweetcorn hook baits.
After a slow start and catching smaller fish, I eventually found the bigger bream.
I caught roach, perch, skimmers and bream. I also caught a jack pike on a worm.

When I lived in Leeds I used to fish the L/L at a place called Rodley where barges and narrow boats were moored. Although I was an inexperienced angler back then, I always caught fish even on freezing winter days. Occasionally I'd get the roach going and catch numbers of quality fish on float fished bread. My local canal these days is the Aire and Calder, with the stretch I fish containing some big bream and chub along with plenty of roach.
Thanks Marc. Both venues sound great. I must try the Aire and Calder one day
great result with the slabs, Mark! some of them fight a bit, I've found! maybe a Tench next time? jacks on lobworms are a nuisance in winter at our end of the LL canal. 👍👍
Many thanks David. New video tomorrow, with a surprise catch on Breadpunch 😎🎣👍
Well done Mark. Some lovely bream there mate, and a very relaxing place to wet a line.
Keep up the good work👍
Thank you Mike 🎣👍
Great video Mark 👍👍
Thanks mate 🎣😂
Beautiful fish. Well done. I enjoyed the film alot 😊
Thanks you mate 🙂
Well done Mark it's good to see quality fish from the canal.
Every canal has proper fish in people just dont fish them, they would rarther pay to fish for stocked fish at a crappy fishery locked into the place with nothing to look at other then other anglers
Cheers Mark
Sad but true
The L/L canal on the outskirts of Liverpool, was renowned for huge tench, and bream.
Nowadays, its a shadow of its former self, where you would be lucky to catch two tench in an entire season
I (like many other anglers) caught my first ever fish on the L/L.
Sadly, the fishing has deteriorated over the last couple of decades, and it's now not even worth visiting.
Make the most of it mate, as i can only see the decline in canal fishing spreading to all areas.
Sad to hear. Yes, got to make the most of fishing spots that are producing. Thanks for your comments mate
Another great venue and great fishing mark 👍
Thank you Mark, much appreciated
Well done mark🎉
Cheers Paul
Cracking session🎣 I’ve cycled past there a few times and put it on my ‘ to fish ‘ list but guilty for not fishing it as yet. Proves that there are some good fish to be had from the canal if you put the work in. Top video and information as usual. Thanks for sharing👍🎣👏👏
Thanks very much again for yopur comments, David. It's a nice location. I hope that you give it a go and catch a few :-) Cheers
Nice session and fish Mark .. I sometimes use little chunks of cat food on a size 12 on the L/L canal as a change bait for targeting the bigger fish , its a messy bait to use as you have to wash off the gravy or jelly first but it does work
Cheers. Sounds like a great tip, thank you 😊
nice vid mark ..which length is that ..and is it easy access please ..? tight lines ..
Cheers, it's the next stretch along from Altham Lane, not far from Accrington. Access is easy but its about a 15 mins walk to this spot from Altham Lane bridge. There are bream all along the stretch, though.
@@000fishing cheers mark ..might see you about ..i had a break with illness ready to get back out now.. holiday first tho ..lol ..tight lines pal ..
Glad you are back on your feet now 😎🎣
What length were you on? Is it between Blackburn n accy or burnley side?
Burnley side
@@000fishing thanks, is it good for parking? Where do you park?
Altham Lane Bridge, not far from Accrington - limited parking for about 4 cars
Thanks, good video 😊
@@ianmcculloch1974 cheers 🙂
Great session mark it’s good to see you branching out🤣 is that the same stretch that you fished with Gary last year by any chance, it looked familiar ?? Great bream mark well done.
Haha cheers Paul. Well spotted. It’s a good fish-holding spot. Hope that you caught a few on river today 🎣😎
@@000fishing it was a tough few hours mark I didn’t get on the river until 2.30 pm only stayed till 5.00 and caught 2 gudgeon☹️
At least you didn’t blank. I’ve not caught gudgeon from the Calder. Nice one. I’m on Ribble tomorrow 🎣
@@000fishing I hope you have a good day.🤞🏼
