Love Richard! 73 South African widow, dyslexic, hate quizzes but try to never miss House of games. When my very intelligent husband was here we watched it and I nearly always got one part right, 50% and my husband would tell me how clever I was. He is so kind to the players. Lovely man and I even stayed awake.
This was a really warm, informative, eye opening and all round great discussion. Richard really articulated how we all cover stuff up, how we all are scared etc, and do you know what…just realise it and do your best to even yourself out and just grab life and go for it! Brilliant. Thanks guys.
1:17:00 "always tip as much as you can" if you're in a position to tip someone it's because they're working and so are you. I love his thoughts on this.
1:14:19 "You must talk a lot ..." The speed at which Richard self-edits. Whether or not he watches their podcast, it's better to seem like he does. And not cynically-to manipulate-but to connect. What a pro.
You mean those people who get indoctrinated in sport clubs with the same performance gibberish as anyone who studies anything economic and/or governance?
If people have their phone on speaker their conversations are like everyone else's conversations, with two or more people speaking to one another so that other people can switch off or follow what's being said. I prefer that to hearing one half of a conversation.
Sorry, those chairs are weird. Richard looks like a Shriner in a tiny car. His seating position is... Precarious. I like the people, the content, the thoughtful questions, they're all good, but FOR THE LOVE OF PETE GET THE TALL GUY A REAL CHAIR. There, I said it. Cheers.
He's not saying to do one thing in spite of all others though is he? All I took from that was that we shouldn't limit the definition of something extra curricular by the convention of sport or learning a musical instrument. Some kids just don't take to that kind of thing. There were introverts at my school that would hang out in the computer room, got called nerds and they'd be there tinkering with the likes of Doom or Quake at the time. One guy in particular went on to do computer science at Oxford. Now he lives in America, dividing his time between lecturing at a College and working for a big tech company. It's not likely to be the scenario for everyone playing COD but if you know your child, see that they have a passion for something, then surely it's better to nurture it.

I love Richard Osman for being a truly clever and kind person.
Love Richard!

I could listen to Richard talk all day! Very sharp man
A pleasure to listen to Richard’s words of wisdom, and he’s so kind and modest with it
He’s a very nice man. Funny and very clever.
Top chap Richard, very modest given the impressive CV he's racking up!

Richard is fabulous!
Richard is very sharp minded, but he is nice and humble with it.
Compare how interesting this guys answers/thought process are to the footballers you get on here
You mean those people who get indoctrinated in sport clubs with the same performance gibberish as anyone who studies anything economic and/or governance?
Ha! Agreed. Surely we’re not surprised that athletes are boring?
@@bleeknoir yeah not a surprise 😂. Footballers in particular though. Tennis players always seem pretty articulate
@@RoadTripperrr haha. You won’t find me arguing with that.
Cambridge graduate v academy players 3.5 days a week at school from the age of 14 to 16 🙄
Intelligent, humble, funny, great voice. He's StephenFryish to me❤️
Love richard awesome human being
Really enjoyed this. What an interesting conversation

Thank you. x
That host with the beard sure likes to drop literary references to show off how well read he is
Where did they get that furniture? They all look so uncomfortable!
@awrider01 especially Richard as he is well over 6ft tall
Some BS quote about reinvention being the source of hope. "Does that apply to you?"
"No. Not at all."
What an opening 😂😂😂
Love this episode! Please have Dr. Brene Brown on!
The seats are triggering my ocd 😂
I've written one book just because 😅 and yes I should have thought about the bored bit. Definitely sections in there which are too much of a filler.
Please get rid of those stupid swoopy swooshy noises with your Like and Subscribe graphics, they are intrusive and ridiculous.
Yeah, these are fun to play around with when editing, but they shouldn't be in the final production IMO
Richard needs to look into Niksen. Nothing has helped me more in controlling stress. Even more than therapy.
29:39 Bored. Left.
People.cause chaos because they are afraid to just 'be' they always have to 'do'.

Weird camera angle he looks like a giant compared to the other 2 guys
He's very tall but doesn't much like being told that so maybe delete?
That furniture really wasn't made for people of over 6 feet
that's because he is
He is 6 foot 7. It’s reality
'Re-invention is the purest form of hope' - Christ, Humphrey is a Grade A Brent plonker.
Worst armchairs ever. Poor Richard looks like a giant in a child's chair
Following his logic about letting kids play COD... We should give kids TVs to watch instead of homework. Let them be themselves!

He was making the point of big picture balance. Who needs 14 GCSEs when you can get 12.
