English Lyrics:
Getting up just so I can breathe
I don't know what's the point anymore
Can't you all see
How the look in my eyes appear like nowadays
My tears are already drying up
Why is it like this
Always carrying the weight of the world
Won't you at least try to notice
I'll always have to pretend
Help me
I can't stop the voices
All day long I've locked myself
In my room that nobody knocks on anymore
May I see the light again someday
While the finish line is still out of reach
Before I end up with regrets
And I'm staring off into space again
My entire body is growing numb
I don't want to get up anymore
Already rotting on the bed
Help me
I can't stop the voices
All day long I've locked myself
In my room that nobody knocks on anymore
May I see the light again someday
While the finish line is still out of reach
Before I end up with regrets
The end has come
I no longer have the strength
To open and reach for the outdoors
A gaping hole was made in my life
Lying down on the bed
Closing my eyes
A life that has withered
Laughing by myself
The sky broke free
The wind will slam
On the door that nobody knocks on anymore
About Wala Nang Kumakatok:
"I created it during the pandemic, around 2020. I think it's a result of burnout - tiredness from isolation that feels repetitive every day, that feels like nobody's knocking (checking up on you) anymore.
In a way, the song is a therapeutical act that helped me survive until now. I found it difficult before to talk about topics like these but I've overcome it. The heaviness subsides just a little.
This is the first song that I and Tim tried to work on; this is also the last song we finished working on. Finishing it was a drag because it's so long and composing it took a lot of effort.
Apart from the song being close to my heart, I also like its sound. Chuck handled the drums, I was in charge of the baritone, Tim played the piano. I like it because there's a catastrophe at the end. The drums are inspired by The Flaming Lips; the music is also influenced by Phoebe Bridgers and My Chemical Romance.
It is connected to the next song (in the album) which is Hele."

Around 3:08, Zild tells a story of a mosquito crying out to the heavens, asking what's the reason for its existence.
(In a wide plain there's a mosquito talking to the heavens. "How dare you, why did you create me? I do nothing but suck blood. Everyone thinks of me as a pest. Why am I even here?")
At sumagot ang langit, "Ewan ko, malay ko ba. Bigla ka na lang sumulpot dyan. Wala ka naman sa plano ko. Kaya tutulungan naman kita, nandyan ka na eh."
(And the heavens answered, "I don't know, how should I know? You suddenly appeared out of nowhere. You're not even part of my plans. But I will help you since you already exist after all.")
...ng langit. "Bakit ba kailangan mo pang malaman iyan?"
(...by the heavens. "Why do you even need to know that?")
"Wala ka kasing ibang alam kundi ang sumipsip ng dugo."
("It's because other than sucking blood you know nothing else.")
[I couldn't decipher the rest of what was said, I'll add more when I do]
Oh my goodness, how do you even hear that well enough to understand? That's amazing.
@@islacustomcoffees Thank you! I used a music editing software to reduce the background music and to hear Zild's vocals better for that part
SALAMAT HINAHANP KO TO HANGGANG "ano ba ang dahilan kung bakit ako nandito" yung naintindihan ko
After "Bigla ka na lang sumulpot dyan" I can hear "walang alam"
@@about17characters thank you, I updated it
My absolute number one favorite song of his. I never understood what was being said in the background towards the end of the song and now I'm left quite speechless afterwards knowing the story he was telling.. Another beautiful translation once again. Keep up the good work! It is greatly appreciated
Thank you! I'll try to figure out the remaining part of the story
@@musikatranslates that would be awesome!
