Disney is a major corporate supporter of illegitimate war criminal israeli apartheid state

I thought they kept returning to Tatooine because a sand set is the cheapest thing in the galaxy to create…and/or renting land in the Middle East is super cheap as well lol
…and I finished typing that 2 seconds before your explanation said exactly that rofl
It’s because Tatooine is a secret Nexus of the Force. Something, something, Rakatan Empire glassing the once verdant planet, something, something.
you have put more thought into it than Disney did
@@justinboyett8843Disney aren’t the sole ones making story decisions. Stories are a collaborative effort. Try again.
@@TemplarLuxmoot point
@@TemplarLuxif they actually made story decisions we wouldn't complain about them so much, they make more decisions based on memberberries and branding bullshit than making stuff that can sell.
Can I get an amen?
I've always loved the fact that the same valley where the Jawas ambushed R2-D2 is the same valley where Indiana Jones threatened to blow up the Ark of the Covenant if the Nazis didn't release Marion Ravenwood.
As Finn would say: "Why does everyone want to go back to Jakku?!" Or in this case Tatooine.
Reason is holiday in Tunisia 🙄
If only Master Kenobi had some sand from Tattoine he would’ve survived Darth Vader on the Death Star. Pocket sand!
Sand versus Vader must be about the same as gold versus Cybermen. Vader instadies.
IDK, might just fuel his darkside rage.
Tatooine could be the Star Wars equivalent to Planet Hell from Star Trek or a random English quarry in Doctor Who. It's scenery that can be used over and over and over again, with a little bit of sand you could be on another desert planet like Jakku.
If they hadn't been in a hurry, it would have been a great gag for Han to take Rey on a tour of desert planets before taking her someplace green.
"Its scenery", not "it's scenery". Grammar, dude. Grammar.
We need more Coruscant underworld
I really don't mind them going back to Tatooine, my biggest issue is that they _still_ can't get it right. It's not very populated at all. Mos Espa is WAY too large for the population of the planet. The whole population of 200,000 look like they all live in Mos Espa. Also, the "mean boss" in the Kenobi series would never fly on that planet. Everyone would work together and were tough as nails to live on that planet. Community is _huge_ there. And we're never ever shown that.
Simple: droids. Consider the Lars moisture farm. The only humans we see there are Owen, Beru and Luke. They use droids to do most of the work. So, if you look at Tatooine as a whole, what kinds of people are there?
For starters, lots and lots of smugglers and criminals who are not full-time residents of the planet. They are transient, coming and going as their "business" requires. So they don't count towards the full-time population. But they would naturally stay close to the cities unless they were hardcore survivalists. Because the cities are where you will find food, water and cantinas serving these things, along with landing bays for their ships.
Case-in-point: Han was actually from Corellia, not Tatooine, and worked as a smuggler. So he was off-planet much of the time because he earned money smuggling, not setting up a retail shop in Mos Eisley. Even Jabba, who effectively ruled the planet, was not a native. Hence the incredible species diversity of his "court", who were no more native to Tatooine than he was.
I’ve read on Reddit and on wookiepedia that both mos eisley and mos espa are actually rather big cities. But that the dune sea is not nearly as densely populated and far more barren.
I think it's part nostalgia and it's also one of the few planets that's really been fleshed out and familiar to even to the most casual fan.
And yet in its past it was very different. I personally would like to see that. A green and verdant tatooine.
I wish they would give us a look at tattoine pre-sand
I find the lore about it being a watery planet that had been blasted into glass quite a stretch in credulity.
@@deepashtray5605I get you but given other in universe weapons etc it is still something I can see.
@@kelvingriffiths6017 I see how weapons could be built in the Star Wars universe capable of incinerating the entire surface, but I cannot se how it is possible that such a place would ever be habitable after that.
Dude, that's Star wars for ya
We saw a glimpse of it in Boba Fett's vision quest in Book of Boba.
Tatooine is basically a dodgy interstate off ramp in the middle of nowhere.
"It's really the classic RPG beginning" Literally if you got to play Star Wars: Galaxies. At launch there were five starting planets but everyone ended up on Tatooine, where it made sense to cobble together gear from scraps and go on hunting and raid missions to pay for your inevitable trips to the bacta tank.
Tatooine is that tavern that every medieval tabletop RPG starts in. That's all that tattooing is It's the starting area of the game
The laughable part is that Luke thought that Tatooine was boring and that nothing interesting ever happened there. Then the writers started piling on more and more matters of galactic importance almost constantly happening on the planet, making it rival Coruscant itself.
Most locals find their home town boring compared to other places. And I'm pretty sure Luke had a pretty short leash on how far he was allowed to venture. Just look how out of place he was in Mos Eisley.
@@momaw_C1-10P - That only makes it funnier. Go watch the Hardware Wars version of the cantina scene sometime.
tbf i doubt luke, like most denizens of tatooine, would be familiar with the planet's history.
@@Spooglecraft - The hardships of life without TV or the internet.
In audiovisual media, Tatooine is unironically more important. The legends books were a bit better about staying away.
Because it's easy to film with minimal outside sets so different planet locations can easily be film in the same area, also there's a lot of things you can do with character and plot development like you can make the settings and characters be like the Old West an/or Middle East (sometimes mixing things up a bit
Tatooine is... something else. In episode IV, they made a point of showing whale skeletons and evidence of long gone oceans. This has been quietly kept up throughout the expansion of the universe. Like Dune, something happened to drain the oceans and leave behind desolation. Unlike Dune, it's not sandworms, spice, and fundamentalist religions. If Owen and Beru Lars are average examples of the people there, people are willing to let the past be. It's also a world where very fine actors are sorely under used.
In legends Tatooine used to be your typical continental world with blues and greens before the Rakata showed up. they bombarded the surface from orbit and vaporized much of the oceans. the sand folk are the survivors who had to live in a now desolate world.
@@theluftwaffle1Rakata “glassed” the planet that’s where the sand came from and originally the Tuskens and Jawas were the same species but ended up in different places underground and it split their evolution.
This video made me realize: Ahsoka and Andor may be the only Star Wars series that don't actually visit Tatooine. It's kind of freaky that only two out of 7 star wars series don't visit Tat, isn't it? Clone Wars, Rebels, Mandalorian, Book of Boba, and Obi-wan all have their fair share of sand scenes. For such an important planet in the SW galaxy, it's actually a little bit odd to see a story where something DOESN'T take place there.
"If you start hear, pretty much any direction you can go is upwards"... Except into a Sarlacc Pit. That's definitely not up.
I know a lot of people are sick of Tatooine but it has always been my favourite Star Wars location and I am always happy when a show returns to it
It’s also the perfect space Western themed planet.
I’ve watched every live action TV series on Disney+, and I liked them all. I am Generation Tech!
Plus every time we venture on Tatooine, it creates some lore that the fans want to explore even more. So the creators are somewhat trapped into the cycle of creating lore to explain something on Tatooine and then having to explore that new lore even more.
The most obvious reason of all, I didn't hear you mention. It's because they already have the sets built for Tatooine. It would require a bit of work to convert them, and then they would need to convert them back later, possibly messing them up.
For example, I noticed after the long running series Xena and Hercules ended, there was suddenly a flood of shows using the sets and wardrobe elements from those shows, especially in New Zealand. They probably sold the sets and wardrobe. Disney doesn't want to lose money.
Another reason to love Andor.
I seem to recall it mentioned that Tatooine was a bit of a focal point for the Force particularly as it applied to the immaculate conception of Anakin Skywalker and prophesies of the collapse of the Old Republic. That would also play into its seemingly central role in the fate of the galaxy. Am I remembering that right? Anyone?
Expect Anakin wasn't conceived on Tatooine. Shmi miraculously got pregnant before she even set foot on Tatooine
@@inazumaprimex100 Okay, but do you recall hearing or reading that Tatooine was a focal point of the Force?
I always thought it was because the location is cheaper to work on and has less you have to do to prepare the set, which is why they keep returning to "Tatooine" in that now cursed movie franchise bought by Disney and destroyed by it.
Many writers and storytellers for hundreds, if not thousands of years have used the extremes of the desert, and the austerity it brings as a source of spiritual significance. The desert is where prophets and holy men would go to get away from worldly pleasures, reject the material and become closer to the divine. This was the case with Moses in the Book of Exodus, Jesus in the New Testament, where he was tempted by the Devil, where Mohammed goes to a cave to receive the word of Allah in the Qu'ran, and where Paul Atreides becomes the prophesied Mua'dib in Dune. Its no surprise then that George Lucas decided to make the hero of his story grow up in a desert environment before embarking on his hero's journey.
You forgot to mention Tatooine natives designed Jedi robes. Almost all the natives wear them. From moisture farmers to sand people. During the old republic they were the foremost leader in Jedi textiles, that's why Order 66 effected their economy the most.
I mean, for the specific examples of the Kenobi and Boba Fett shows, it makes sense to center on Tatooine because Kenobi lived there for 18 years and Boba Fett was last seen there in ROTJ. And they're two of the characters popular enough to draw an audience. (Pity about their shows not being, you know. Good.)
And not to mention that twin sunset is so iconic and beautiful that seeing it over and over never gets old.
3:59 - I had no idea why Andor just _looked better_ than the Mandalorian in every scene. More tangible. Thanks for explaining what my mind saw without understanding!
It's because Disney already bought the props and the Tunisia Board of Tourism and Film is really easy to work with.
I much prefer Tatooine instead of any of the newer sequel planets. Something is wrong with your creative direction if people prefer a desert planet to any of the newer planets
I subscribed today after years of watching your video's. Nice work. You're doing a great job.
I agree not having anything to watch that’s new Star Wars wise that’s why I feel like we should be grateful we’re getting so much in such a small amount of time even if it’s not up to your expectations
Day 227 PLEASE DO MORE TACTICS VIDEOS AND STRUCTURES LIKE THE CIS NAVY STRUCTURE AND RANKS
Tatooine isnt just a place but an idea. It embodies the diverse and dangerous galaxy that it is found in, and for better or worse remains one of the most iconic locations in the SWs galaxy. Idk if i'd vacation there but as far as places to live go there are much worse and much less interesting places.
Happy early birthday Adam!
I am about to start my 2nd SW5E campign and funny enough it starts on tattooine
The difference in background techniques is amazing. When the prequel films debuted, even by the standards of the day it looked janky as all hell. And it certainly hasn’t aged well at all. But this new tech from ILM is really well done 👌
during pandemic lockdown a friend and I wrote a star wars book with our own characters right before the prequels. And yup they took a trip to tattione. Our people even sat down in the same booth in the cantina... because we could and for the story it made sense to go to that planet. You might be on to something 😂
Desert planets are very popular in science fiction. Star Trek also has desert planets. Vulcan is a desert planet in Star Trek.
Nice Morrowind reference there 👍
Because Tatooine is a fantastic place. Have you heard it described by Phineas and Ferb? You have a 2 sun summer the whole darn year.
In fact stage craft tech sucks at bright settings especially, that's why visting Tattoine makes even less sense 😂
Somethin about those Dual Suns keeps em comin back.
I don’t like sand it rough and course and it gets everywhere -Anakin Skywalker/darthvader
It's the Desert, and the Crime, and the Freedom. All three call to the human soul, and for different reasons. The Desert refines the soul, the Crime is the release of primal desires, and the Freedom is what every man wants (but usually doesn't know what to do with).
Besides these, it's a convenient, well known planet, and the producers, directors, and writers don't have to build an entirely new world to play around with
You summed it up perfectly. Just said this to my wife recently. Before it left a bunch to the immagination
It's because Tatooine is GOATED.
No man's land. Wild west. Den of thieves and all that.
Mos Best-bruh
Was just thinking of Mos Eisley yesterday randomly. Also Mos Eisley in the LEGO games. Cool place despite it being a wretched hive of scum and villainy
Its because of all the sand
I hate sand
Unlimited sand
@@tanisparker1282it’s corse ruff and it gets everywhere
Anyone else notice the 2 birds fly by the outside of the window directly behind his head?
Tatooine is the Ken of Star Wars planets
I can't express how much i hate how often they return to Tatooine. It is a backwater planet that is supposed to have no major meaning. Yet they mold it into one of the most important planets in the galaxy, but at the same time no one seems to notice this plan is wildly important. And I'm actually fine with it showing up in the OG triology because it ties into why Han was there in the first place, i'm also fine-ish with it being in the prequals, but really already we are seeing how Anakin could have been born on literally any other backwater planet. And then even the sequal triology had to have a scene there.
Obi-wan: "mos eisley spaceport, you will never find a more retched hive of scum and villainy."
Err hello, AUSTRALIA!!! A lot of the Tatooine scenes were filmed in the Sth Australian desert!
Try being 9 years old in 1983. The next time I had live action Star wars I was married and took my daughter to see The phantom menace
Arrakis
Tatooine is Star Wars' Malkuth.
And, if you are based in the U.S. there are a million places to film (action or backgrounds); Death Valley, Yuma, Great Dunes Park, All of Utah...
My favorite wretched hive of scum and villainy! My favorite planet and Star Wars (ANH) is my favorite movie in general.
I hear that they go to Tatooine and I roll my eyes if it is nothing to do with the Skywalker stuff.
Tattoine is the Gotham of Star Wars
✨ N O S T A L G I A ✨
Cuz its cool
the Prisoner on the boat or dungeon.. Morrowind and Oblivion reference?
I got sand in my shorts just from watching so much tatooine 🤣🤣🤣
God I wish it and coruscant would get Deathstar’d so they’d have to go someplace else.
No GRIPS?? Aww, that's bunk!! Please say this didn't affect "Best boys"!!
If the wallet youre doing the ad for blocks signals then how is the tracker going to work?
Why?, Simple reason; Because that's where it all began.
Seriously, the sponsor ad is broken by 2 TH-cam ads. It's ads within ads. Can you please turn off the TH-cam ads if you get someone to sponsor the video? 😒
Tatooine is the goat
Tatooine is basically the main hub area in Star Wars 😅
It's all the sand
Anakin loves sand
A sleepy desert planet on the outer rim.
Am Isolated desert makes for cheap set dressing i assumed 🤣
Tatooine is more important than Coruscant if it gets more screentime per series and movie. Better off making it one of the capitals.
Holiday in Tunisia?

🤔 . . . How does Tatooine compare to the games _Carnal Instinct_ & _ WildLife_ ?
👍
No more Star Wars “content” from these corporations, we are fucking good
Just Lucasfilm really hating poor crisp Ani.
SW fans seem to love bounty hunters, but where is the next dogg the bounty hunter show, and what sw fans watched it? "you can make a change, god loves you"-dogg
Why always on Tatooine, why not somewhere nice? Like Naboo, Kashyyyk, Coruscant, Yavin 4,Hoth, Dagobah, Bespin, Endor, Dantooine, Takodana,Ruusan,Korriban,Kamino,Geonosis,Utapau,Mustafar,Polis Massa,Cato Nemoidia,Felucia,Boz Pity,Corellia,Tython,Rhen Var.There also cool planets.Duh?!So shut up Rey
Is it because Star Wars at its heart is a space western ???
It seemed to start out that way. But I see it more of a fantasy in space. Even EIV, seemed like Tatooine was the starter zone then the party ends up doing a dungeon run (Death Star). The party consists of the rogue damage dealer (Han), the tank (Chewy), the Mage (Obi Wan) and at the there's a boss (Vader). Then the final boss (The death star)
For me, the way planets are portrayed is the most unrealistic thing about Star Wars. Every planet has two or three towns, and a couple hundred people. If someone in Star Wars hears someone is on a planet, they can find this person in just a few minutes. Imagine looking for me, and all I told you was I'm on Earth. It's less realistic than lightsabers or the Force.
Andor is still the best
*I don’t like sand it’s coarse and rough and irritating…when Disney puts it everywhere*
Its kinda funny, how the best Star Wars movies are the one's that don't return to Tatooine.😅
Comment for the comment god
So... Tatooine and even the rest of the Outer Rim are basically just Siberia during the time of the Russian Empire? I mean, that's what Siberia used to be when it was under the Russian Empire. It was sparsely populated, far from the central authority and a place where political prisoners and colonists seeking fortunes lived.
Because as a franchise, Star Wars likes to go back to its roots. As a shameless low effort Dune ripoff.
The short answer is fan service.
Does a populus need a government to provide services to the populus. Instead of helping each other
Hidden star wars secret, they actually enjoy sand
Prequels made me hate Tatooine. Mandalorian made me love it.
