Love the video mate. I recently had a huge shift in my life. I had an operation and gave up weed, tobacco, and alcohol after years of abuse and I have drastically improved my mental and physical health. I've never cared for social media whatsoever but now I want to document my journey and use social media to reach others in the same place as I was. Your video is extremely clear, and down to earth and will help me further my venture into this unknown realm. Cheers from a new subscriber.
Thanks windupmerchant! (Great name). It’s always wonderful to read the comments here. It’s quite fulfilling knowing this content on TH-cam helps you! Thanks for reaching out and continue your journey, your on the right path :)
I use to hate being in the photos/videos . I've been documenting my dogs life very regularly for the past 6 years. I just haven't posted much on youtube. I found my favorite and best photos/videos are with both of us in it together. Little late to the party. We are going on vacation next week. I think im finally going to take this advice. I really should have done this years ago but right now is the perfect time to start fresh. I have go-pros we regularly use, DSLR, Mirrorless cams, all the lenses etc... I'm motivated. When this comes to fruition, I'll tag you in the video.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I literally decided this morning that I wanted to start documenting my life and this video pops up in my feed a few hours later. I love the style in which you shot this video. For the most part it was just you and your camera walking though the city. It was super engaging and really served to highlight the message of your video in a non verbal way. Keep it up!
I am writing this in middle of watching. I was like who is this man, i love this man. Great video Edward. I am also gonna start documenting so this is really helpful.
Love the video. Very much natural, authentic. Love the soundtrack, which fully reflects what you wanted to convey and how. Following you. I agree on many of the points you highlight. Ciao!
The way you made this was so simple and yet so powerful. Loved the reference from Casey "Story is king, story is everything". Which again, it just proves exactly what you did, not so fancy gear or cameras, but simply stating the message. This was really inspiring, especially for me now in the early process of this whole videography or vlogging... Thank you!!!
These are some great tips! I've always wanted to just start and I've had several cameras but I think I'll just go with phone as it's the most subtle and doesn't cause too many distractions
Hi Martin, i just start my channel and today ur video appear. Great video! i just want to say thank you to you, your video give me more motivation to make more video .
This is such a great video with great tips. I'm a professional videographer and I've fallen out of love with the process of documenting my life. But I wish I did. So I'm trying to find how to do that in the most seamless and "frictionless" way possible. This is very helpful for getting me started in this process. Thank you
This was super clean and inspiring. Love the simplicity and this is something im going to play with. Also love the beat, what is it and where did you find it?
When I first started watching your video I was impatient because all of your tips were psychological and while true I already knew them meanwhile I'm looking at the best b-roll I think I've ever seen and I wanted tips on creating a better b-roll but by the end you explained it and the video was amazing Plus, what were you using for audio? Your audio is amazing even though you were in different environments so did you clean it up in post or did you have a particular microphone? thanks
Much appreciated! For this video I used a rode videomicro microphone, like €50-60, No post audio digital treatment was added to the rode mic, its great. I've since upgraded to the DJI wireless MIC system which is phenomenal.
@@Somethingfromed You are a gift and your content is a gift to us.. on social media we tend to show our best sides on our best days which I agree with because negativity is toxic and contagious. But I would love if a trend developed where people begin to post content on bad days.. because the depth of imagery in a post by you on your bad day would be unlimitedly artistic.
This is incredibly helpful! I’m wanting to get started in vlogging/documenting. Quick question, what mic do you use? Do you have one attached to you or is it fixed in editing? Thanks! Great video!
Thanks! Yeah I recommend a shotgun directional microphone like a rhode mini mic, something that’ll connect via the cold shoe mount on your camera. If you have the opportunity get the Dji wireless microphone system. So good!
Thanks for the comment! I run my own business using seaweed extracts in beverages and cosmetics. I’ve considered bringing those stories of building a business onto this channel, would that be of interest to people?
