I don't get any commission, but it shows them the value of these videos. Who knows, maybe they'll even be open to a video of before and after suspension, by SSS. Thanks for watching!
I super easy way to cut those holes I learned on another video is just to heat up the hole saw with a blow torch and then it just pushes through easy peasy! I then just covered mine with frogzskin rather than mess with the snorkel. It is a breathable mesh that doesn't allow water through. It is used on jet skis and snow mobiles so it is reputable. Would love to see an SSS install video! Thanks for the video!
Great review, i could hear it in your voice that you are genuinely happy with the upgrade, like the fact SSS are concentrating on the Aussie market, hopefully we will see a big bore upgrade soon.Looking forward to the next adventure.❤
Thanks! I just wanted to capture a genuine reaction first up. Clearly no scripts, just enjoying the change! I'd be very keen to do another video with a Stage 3 Big Bore kit 😁 I guess we'll see how SSS Motorcycles feels in the near future 👍
Good video! I’ve got similar setup, Moto-x exhaust and upgrade air filter. I’ve also pulled the trigger on the SSS stage two ECU upgrade and look forward to seeing how it goes. The suspension was the first thing I did to this bike. Went with YSS reservoir shock on the rear and cartridge system plus new springs on the front. Made a huge difference off road and can now hit much bigger whoops etc without having to worry. Having fully adjustable suspension front and rear is a nice thing.
You'll love the stage 2, I wasn't expecting such a big difference. It has more low down pull like a Drz400. Makes you want to ride a bit quicker. I'm hoping to line up a collaborative video with a suspension provider 🤞
Hi, the stock suspension certainly is soft. But if have the balance to slow down a little and enjoy the views, It can still go anywhere. I'm about 80kg and have ridden in every terrain. This performance kit makes me want to enjoy that found power and ride a little quicker haha. So you're right.. I might have to consider a suspension upgrade soon. I'm hoping to collab with a suspension specialist soon for another video🤞
@@TwoWheelerSparky yeah, I'd expect it can get you anywhere. But getting you anywhere comfortably, and getting anywhere fast are two different things. Going fast off-road is when soft suspension starts to be found out. So it makes sense to look into if you're starting to push your limits and the bike's by making it faster. Good luck with the Collab!
Thanks! It was a great improvement, once I added the second snorkel and stage 2 ECU tune. Check out my latest video where I got to ride their big bore bike. It went well, I wouldn't need anymore then that... One day 😁
Nice work. 🍻 I have similar setup but with 550 ecu and want to see if there is any reason to swap to SSS ecu. Have been thinking 1 reason would be support for Aussie fuels.
I have been running stock for ages and I wasn't expecting the difference to be so much. I was impressed 🤟 One of the main points they made on the phone, is the SSS is tuned for Australian fuel. So they're more focused on local (Australian) sales.
Also mate, do you wear body armounr under the MX jersey? I use an ADV jacket but keen to go lighter, but then would feel pretty naked without armour/padding.
@@agro1942 Yes, better air flow with armour and a jersey over top. I also carry a compact rain jacket for longer trips, just in case. I just added a link to a similar body armour in the video description if you're interested 👍
If you get in touch with SSS, they would likely have some more in depth data. I just got a hold of their kit and gave it run. I was impressed obviously haha.
Impressive reaction! Makes me want to buy one and I don't even have a CRF. Looking forward to you sorting the suspension and eating your words on that too :) Also, it's pronounced Tam-worth ('a' as in apple), not Tairmworth (a as in air). And what's this vid got to do with the outback anyway?
What’s the difference between the 2.0 &2.1. As far as I can see the 2.0 has second snorkel and the 2.1 has the vented air box? Anyone know what’s more beneficial?
Hi Travis, My understanding is what you mentioned above. Instead of drilling a hole for a second snorkel like i did, you just run the vented air box cover for the same gains. Your best bet would be to get in touch with SSS Tamworth for all the details. Thanks for watching!

@@TwoWheelerSparky I Tried it on stock ECU it sounds good but the number plate rattles a lot and pretty loud. Hopefully more noticeable off road
@@foaley77 haha hopefully the plate doesn't rattle loose 😁 The stage 2 seems to pull for longer in the rev range for more fun in the bush. 👍 The 301 big bore I rode had better acceleration at higher speeds for overtaking. I'll get it one day! Then I guess I'll cave in and upgrade the suspension after that.
@@glennconnolly2553 I didn't really notice any significant difference in fuel consumption. I got 360km off 12L on this trip, before I thought I ran out of fuel on the racetrack 😁 th-cam.com/video/6HWCU5UtdNY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=_wy-w8Dbh5gVeWDi
Hi, thanks! On a stock tune and motoX exhaust, I was getting over 350km with fuel left over. This was just a quick bush run on the upgrade kit, not expecting too much. Genuinely so much better down low. I'm filming a longer trip next month with a few other riders. I'll try to keep an eye on the claimed fuel consumption. If you get in touch with SSS, they may have some info from their dyno testing?
Hi, I believe they tuned it specifically for Australian fuel, but that's not to say it wouldn't work elsewhere. You'd have to get in touch with SSS to get their thoughts on that, if you're overseas 👍
Hey, I'm on a long trip at the moment with three bigger bikes. The best thing is more torque down low to mid. But it handles the hills much better in 6th now without dropping the gears.
I only got to give it a quick run at higher speeds, but it did seem to have better torque on the hills. Maybe one day 👍 Sounds like a good opportunity for a suspension supplier to get their name out there on TH-cam 😁
Might as well have spent a bit more and bought something with more power and suspension to start with as try and turn a under powered, under suspended bike into something its not
These are great little go anywhere bikes, with wind protection and good range. It was also a fraction of the cost of bigger bikes from new. My thoughts were why modify, it's still only going to be a little dual sport. But I was pleasantly surprised by the change; happy riding 👍
It’s no where near underpowered. I’d be willing to bet my life savings this moron has never ridden one. If he has, he doesn’t know what an underpowered motorcycle is. The crf250l was a popular bike for so long, and this one has more power. It’s actually perfect once you flash the ECU and put a pipe on it, like everyone does to every other bike on the planet. And if that isn’t enough for you, there is the Big Bore kit that allows it to beat a stock 450l. Don’t listen to the brainless idiots.

Has anyone who’s modded with an aftermarket exhaust and ECU upgrade received a solid check engine light?
Depending on the brand, i believe you have to turn the ignition on and off three times the first power up.
