I felt so sorry for Danielle Brisebois in that movie; they gave her bad hair, an awful fake accent, and a dreadful role. Even though it had been only 11 years since Archie Bunker's Place ended until this interview, I can't believe how much she had aged. Here it looks like she could have been the mother of Stephanie Mills/ Mary Frances Sumner when we last saw them.
Ain't Gonna Cry or Don't Wanna Talk About Love were far more commercially friendly choices for the first single. Problem for her is that kinda Debbie Gibson/ Belinda Carlisle type sound wasn't getting played on radio anymore either in 1994. And in reality, no matter what Danielle released she was never going to overcome the stigma of being Stephanie Mills to be taken seriously.
