21 Year Old With Severe Gum Disease | Her Dentist Didn't Warn Her!

  • Olivia came into our office for a microscope slide to see what kind of bacteria she had in her mouth.
    Much to her surprise she had a very advanced form of gum disease! Luckily we caught her periodontitis early. If we hadn't taken the microscope sample, she likely would have gone years without knowing she had periodontitis.
    This is a live radio broadcast on WJR filmed in Birmingham, MI.

    A lot of cases of bleeding gums is down to the immune system of that person…. Dentists need to think outside of the box.

      Seems every profession claimed a right to incompetence! 😂 Meanwhile, TH-cam may lift us all up. Ask for a prescription of Periostat (doxycycline 20mg) for eliminating the bacteria if you're into antibiotics. Good luck!

    The oral micro biome is extremely important. That’s why using an oral probiotic lozenge is needed before bed to repopulate the good bacteria.
    Mouthwash that kills all the good and bad bacteria in the mouth is the worst thing you can use

    6:31 Seriously, I'm wondering how many people she told that to about "once you get bacteria into your system you cant get it out." You have this thing called an immune system that fights off bacteria on a daily basis. I'm glad the periodontist corrected her, but instead of her correcting her mistake she deflects and says "but before you get them into the blood stream that's the point." Like come on lady own up to your mistake and quit being soo hard headed.

    I just stumbled on this video and have to share, in hopes of helping someone, that people should normalize intermittent mouth washing with straight hydrogen peroxide. Ask your dentist. I unexpectedly saved my teeth from plaque buildup. I was just trying to be extra clean and bright white but inadvertently broke loose caked on plaque. I got a follow-up deep cleaning at the local dentist and have still not had a single cavity in over 25 years.

    • @carle5538
      @carle5538 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you use pure hydrogen peroxide they say you can end up with other problems because you will be killing a lot of the good bacteria. You have to dilute the H2O2 with water at least.

      That’s interesting because I have recession. When I was diagnosed, the periodontist told me it could be reversed - that was in Spain. I then saw a dentist while in Mexico and he told me I don’t have gum disease. I then registered with a new dentist in my country - UK and they told me that I do have it and it’s irreversible. I’ve been lucky enough to get referred on the NHS to a periodontist and waiting for appointment. I’m interested to hear now once and for all what I have exactly because I’ve had so many different opinions, it’s unreal.
