    Clapping is not 'incessant complaining.' It's a fine way to get frustration out without crossing a line. This is a clear example of a ref being overly sensitive and turning the attention away from the players and the game. Whatever lead up to it is irrelevant. It was the wrong call. We're all getting really sick of ref ball in the NBA. It's not a problem at any other level of basketball.

      Besides that, he could easily argue he was clapping to show support for the aggressive defense. I’ve seen my teammates react like that for this exact reason. If you feel like the ‘incessant complaining’ deserves a tech, hand it over on something that is undeniably a complaint.
      And even better: warn the players their complaining has reached its limit. Like @ThaDream_13_ said in another comment, the rules benefit the refs, allowing for mood swing decisions like that, and punish players for having feelings and getting frustrated.

    For once, I disagree with your analysis. You picked Vanvleet on the last games, because he singled out one ref. But refing is really getting bad throughout the NBA. The number of errors, missed calls, ... is getting really out of hand. It's not against one player or even one team, they just can't do it as well as they used too. I guess players and lovers of the game (not of the show) have to get used to it. I thought it was nice that one player speak up for once.

      I don’t think this is true dude. You have no context of how reffing was in the 80’s, 90’s or even 2000’s. Now with social media every bad call gets blown out of proportion. I would wager that NBA refs are right probably 80~90% of the time.

So 4/6 (67%) rate of a getting a tech in a Ben Taylor game versus 3/50 (6%) in non-Ben Taylor officiated games. I don't think you're on either side of an argument of players vs refs, but trying to make a whole video playing devils advocate for these terrible ref crews is a pretty rare miss for this channel. looking forward to the next vid still but I wouldn't sit through another one of these lame ref pity parties

    • @Jazzguitar00
      @Jazzguitar00 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, it's a big L because it doesn't conform perfectly to your world views. Let's just ignore that he put a lot of time and research figuring what made Fred angry, his history with Ben Taylor, and breaking down plays, and say it's an L because emotional fans like to bash refs and they can't stand when someone says they are fine.

    I love how every time a Raptors player “makes contact” its an obvious foul but whenever our opponents “make contact” theres some bullshit explanation why its not a foul. “Theres no evidence to say that the Raptors are being penalized more than the Clippers” yeah man a 31-14 FT disparity when its a 6 point game with under 2 min left yeah Im sure that didn’t play a role. And people wonder why we hate on refs and media so much. Lmao. Such an insane double standard. If were letting every marginal thing go cool. If were calling everything like its 2023 cool. Just let it go both ways. Its kinda hard not to complain when in 49 min of game time your opponents shoot 40 FTs and you shoot 18 then you give us techs for complaining about an absolutely ridiculous disparity? Nah we aint gonna sit down and just take it were gonna say something about it. The games where Fred got techs that you referenced in this video our opponents shot 95 FTs to our 70 and the Hawks game we lost by 2 in OT with a -10 disparity. We have a right to complain
