Somenone asked me to show how to couple Area elements in SOFiSTiK. I thought it's worth sharing with others as well. I had a great time creating this tutorial and I hope you enjoy watching it.

Nice Video! Is it possible to use the tran command and give the new surface a different thickness?
Very nice, I may suggest that you could expand this video about option where you can refer one mesh to another, in case if your reference area has a different geometry (size). Greaaat job.
can i create the spring elements in an area just in one group to stimulate the soil?
Yes, it is possible. The corresponding input would be similar to the following:
SPRI NO QGRP NA xxx CP yyy
Spring elements will be assigned to the area elements of xxx with a stiffness constant of yyy in the spring direction.
