- A chat with Gloria Hunniford about The Last Place on Earth, The Professionals and The Bullshitters.
I own nothing, all copyright remains with the rightful owners.
My deepest gratitude to the lovely lady who gave me this to digitalize.
Gloria Hunniford is such a good interviewer, because she lets her guests talk and answer the questions properly, rather than modern day chat show hosts who are only interested in promoting themselves. Martin is wonderful in this interview, I love his stories and he looks so young and gorgeous. Thank you so much.
Mr. Shaw is so beautiful.
I am really thankful for this interview. It seems Martin Shaw was not prejudiced in his performance by Roland Huntford's views despite the mini-series having been based on Huntford's. book.
Oh my god, that childhood-story already got me into giggles! Greenheart, thank you so very very much - and pass on our gratitude to the lovely lovely lady!
If anyone on here is interested, 'The Last Place On Earth' starring Martin Shaw as Captain Scott is still available to buy on DVD. I have a copy of it myself at home.
Martin Shaw's portrayal of Captain Scott was excellent. The earlier film 'Scott of the Antarctic' (1948) seemed to consist entirely of British caricatures, with absurd public schoolboy enthusiasm and flag waving nonsense. Shaw was born in about 1945 and no doubt bought in to all that, as his interview shows.
This is just worth it to hear Gloria say bullshitters!
Martin always looks very dapper
