Yeah he is the best technical wrestler of all time, when you can entertain a crowd for an hour wrestling match you know your good. They should of made him heel after his first title cause when he turned in 97 that’s when his mic skills picked up.
loved the business, and was publiclly humiliated by a company he gave everything to. then his closest brother dies tragically. then the bulldog dies. his career ends by a terrible concussion. he wasted away in WCW. his brothers death tears apart the family. he suffers a stroke and goes through a long rehab process. he has every right to hold onto bitterness. we should be happy he's still alive and still very much happy these days. nobody deserves to be happy more than bret after all the BS he's dealt with through the years.
***** bret had his career ended with one kick from goldberg giving him chronic pain and neurological symptoms for the rest of his life, suffered a stroke and lost his brother and the only thing you care about is money and arguing about who built which company....so heartless
+invanillasky negative. Vince told Hart to take the WCW offer because he couldn't afford him. Hart took less to stay in the WWF earlier in the year, and Vince convinced him to void the contract and accept WCW''s more lucrative offer. that's a fact.
Blake Martin you better not disagree with invanillasky he was the wwf's only accountant at the time and bret harts attorney, financial advisor and confidant....also he will have a massive temper tantrum and shit himself and force you wash his cloth diaper
***** Bret DID take less money to stay, considerably less. After he signed the lesser deal to stay, Vince came back and asked him to take WCW's offer if he could because he couldn't afford it which is odd since Vince could afford to pay Mike Tyson over a million dollars for two months worth of work. So, Bret took less money and it still wasn't good enough for McMahon. At the end of the day, if it was about greed, Bret would've taken WCW's original offer of $3 million a year and bolted without considering taking McMahon's offer, which was less than half what Bischoff was offering. THAT'S a fact.
Bret Hart: Even though he ended my career and forever effected my health, I hold no bitterness to Bill Goldberg. TH-cam Rasslin Smarks: OMG why is Bret so bitter?!
He SHOULD hold bitterness to Goldberg, who was just a Bitchoff's stupid goon they tried to build up into the next Hogan/Andre just by booking him to smash through all the other wrestlers. Of COURSE the fans rejected being told who to like.
@A FAN OF TH-cam give me a break. You don't push a wrestler by letting him injure other wrestlers. That's just fucking stupid and irresponsible. Goldberg was nothing but a mark and an ape. He had no skill, no talent, and he even thought he was hot shit for injuring other wrestlers. Then he bragged that if he wanted to hurt Brett, he never would have gotten up, as if reckless endangerment makes it okay just because it's not deliberate. If that were true, every drunk driver should go free after killing or injuring someone. He is just a giant piece of shit that had no business in the wrestling world, just like Eric Bischoff and Ted Turner. Vince at least knew what he was doing, and at the very least he looked out for the safety of the wrestlers. Maybe he wasn't so careful with Andre, because Andre has so much power in the business that he even jacked up Vince on the All Star Wrestling interview segment. So yes, sometimes Andre did fuck people up on purpose, like the Sheik or Macho Man, but it was for personal reasons, he was never Reckless and never injured anybody. He was very gentle to people that he liked. Goldberg was not the biggest, the strongest, or the most skilled wrestler by a long shot. He was just the biggest fucking asshole who ever set foot in the ring. Even Mabel was better than him.
Hart vs Hogan. Hart vs Warrior. Warrior vs Goldberg. Hogan vs Nash. Sting vs Warrior. All this multi-millionaire dollar pay-per-view potential never done...Ted Turner should have ran the show himself..
They made the mistake but making NWO too much of a primary heel. I mean of course it was epic at first and a very good storyline especially when Sting became the dark hero leading the way. But once they split the factions in two it should have just died down after that. It became predominantly NWO all over the place and everyone is on a certain side if not the same the side and we lost all out on all those possible matches you mentioned. They went from being really creative to wasting away the creativity.
I'm glad Bret cleared up what few people knew: Goldberg was green and being pulled in a million directions. That's why he wasn't ever a very polished guy in the ring. He's wrong about Hogan, however. Hogan was a massive draw for a long time, but he didn't have any ability to push Bret down. It's not his fault that audiences preferred Hogan's brand of entertainment to Bret's brand of technical wrestling. Sure, Bret's matches were fundamentally perfect; the psychology was there, and the build up to high spots were implemented flawlessly. But that's not what the business is about entirely.
+Jason Colbeck Eeehhh... Hogan definitely had a hand in Bret's career. He refused to drop the belt to him in WWF, and still wouldn't work with Bret when he came to Atlanta, even after Bret proved to be a Megastar. I don't think Hogan was HBK-level (who was the absolute worst) in how he operated, he definitely put over his fair share of guys, but he definitely refused to put Bret over (which is a large part of how Hogan ended up in WCW). And, yeah, Goldberg was handled horribly. WCW was such a mess. They had Sting and Flair, and that's it. The Kevin Sullivan vs Hogan stuff was terribad. Nash and Hall cashed in and turned WCW into what it was, but in the back, everything was still being done the same way. They had no idea what they were doing. They kept coming upon great talent and being unable to recognize it. WCW had just about every future star in WWF/E except a couple guys. Kane, Owen Hart, Undertaker, Hall, Nash, Austin, Mick Foley, Triple H, Jericho, Benoit, Eddie, Big Show (granted, WCW did a better job with him than WWE...which is just a reflection of how poorly he's been used), and many others.
Sad but true because wrestling In the USA is about showmanship and giving long winded speeches on the mic as well as angles, gimmicks and characters. I think more people are appreciating technical wrestling today. I prefer a great technical wrestling match over someone who just talks for 30 minutes on the mic.
Goldberg never meant to hurt Bret and had no idea that he could hurt Bret like that with just one kick. Bill Goldberg got MINIMAL training from the WCW Power Plant, and was rushed on to TV. He did what he was told to do, and was always told he did a great job. HE learned a hard lesson that day. He has apologized to Bret countless times and legitimately feels awful about what happened - but the one thing he can't do is change what happened. Bret knows that, but still seems bitter and holds a grudge. Bret knows it was Kevin Sullivan and others at WCW who kept telling Goldberg that he was doing a great job when, in reality, he was hurting the other guy in the ring and needed to learn proper techniques to prevent injuries. Bret got screwed again, this time because the people in charge at WCW just saw dollar signs and packed arenas because Goldberg had gotten over so much. I thought at the time that he was the guy who looked most like he could really crush his opponents in the ring. Little did I know it was because he was wrestling way to stiff and wasn't using proper technique. Unfortunately, Goldberg didn't know it, either, and no one in charge told him. It was a bad situation all around. Bret was great, and his career was needlessly cut short. It should never have happened.
According to Bret Hart, "Bill Goldberg hurt a lot of guys.", yet he was the only one who suffered permanent damage by this man? It is difficult to say whether Bret Hart may have suffered a concussion under other circumstances which would have ended his career had Goldberg not kicked him. Though there is no excuse for what happened, I still think there's another perspective. I bid this wrestling legend a happy and long life. The Iron Man match between him and Shawn Michaels is probably my favorite wrestling match of all time.
Well, he is the only one to receive a bad kick to the head. Now you got the beautiful saudi arabia match against Taker to see how goldberg almost killed a man
bret hart one of the best sellers' in the business would have made hogan look awesome! bret would have given him his best match ever! regardless the outcome.
Made millions for the wwe. He definitely earned his status as one of the greatest. It's bitter because he was screwed over and then was brutalised by Goldberg. Anybody would be bitter if they went through what Brett went through.
goldberg was not at fault for what happend to bret, he never had the kind of training for the business that others had and take for granted, goldberg went out there and did what he was told to do, he had no intent to hurt bret, bret knows the score, a lot of the moves, holds and throws can do someone serious harm, thats why so many wrestlers have had broken bones, broken necks and spines, when you go in that ring, you do so knowing the risks, its unfortunate and sad that brets career was ended like that, but it was not goldbergs fault nor brets, it just is what it is. in short all those coming on here calling goldberg worse than crap for what happend, get over it, it was not done intentionally, brets over it and does not blame goldberg for it and neither should you.
@@jakelang806 oh please there are wrestlers that had far more training that did a lot worse to other wrestlers by accident for example, owen heart broke stone colds neck doing a pile driver, the time mick foley had his teeth knocked out of his mouth and out through his nose, the list is endless, mistakes get made, not everyone is trained the same or to the same standard but even the best screw up, you need to get a grip.
Not once does JR try to shut down anything Bret tells him about Goldberg, Sullivan and Bischoff, and reasonably so. Sullivan never drew a dime and Bischoff went from a catalog model to a complete bad-idea generator.
Sullivan drew enormous money in FLA & is a close friend of Ross’s. Sullivan is also widely regarded as one of the greatest bookers ever. Ross didn’t interject because he respected his guest’s views
So many people in WCW said that the power plant never trained anyone how to wrestle but just how to look good on tv. WCW never knew how to book promote or market talent.
WCW had a lot of experienced, talented wrestlers under contract that they didn't use and basically paid to be at home. There could have been a rotation so that they could have trained the wrestlers that had been hired for their looks and charisma instead of skills. Lanny Poffo for example was under contract for five years and never did a match for WCW. Since Angelo Poffo had is own wrestling promotion, the ICW it's possible that Lanny had experience teaching new wrestlers. That the WCW didn't use the ressources at its disposal to improve Goldberg is on them, not on him. Had they made clear that he needed to improve, he might not have gotten such a big ego. Ray Mysterio, Scott & Rick Steiner could also been paid a bonus to train Goldberg.
+GoldVillage oh Jesus is he the only one to get hurt in the ring. No he's the only one to cry constantly about it. Praising people leaving the company and burying them. Watch the destruction of Brett Hart to hear how Bret Hart really was towards other wrestlers.
Bret was never much on the mic, but inside the ring, he was impeccable. Saw a match he had with Mr. Perfect, and sure, it was a work, but it was one of THE best works ever done, showcasing how good both of them really were. As for his accident with Goldberg, it was an accident. BG apologized, and Bret has largely let it go, although I can't blame him for being bitter. But the thing is, he did get a lot of money for his years in the ring. Maybe not as much as Hogan or other big names, but more than enough. As for the politics...I only know what I read, and there are so many conflicting opinions...won't go there. The accident, though, it comes with the territory. There's always a possibility of something going wrong, even if it's been rehearsed a hundred times. Bruno Sammartino had his neck broken by Stan Hansen...he didn't like it, but he let it go. Stuff happens...a bad day at the office, as Steve Austin once said. I wish Hart well with his life...he's had a lot of highs as well as a lot of lows.
WCW used Bret Hart alot, Bret just wasn't nearly as over as nWo or Goldberg. I remember the crowd booing Bret vs. Benoit even though it was a great match.
People need to know the real truth about why WCW started to suck. When AOL merged with Time Warner, they sent Brad Siegal, who was a business partner of Vince McMahon's in the 80s and a friend, to sabotage the product. They kept changing the book on what storylines they could do and couldn't do. If Vince McMahon wasn't close buddies with some of the AOL guys we probably still would see competition in Wrestling.
that's a lie and where u hear that nonsense out , wcw merge becuz wwe was smoking they ass in rating , stone cold made the rating and that's what beat out wcw u need to do research Austin made Vince billionaire. wcw got boring nwo got boring and people was tired of Hogan
Duh. On screen they were owning them too. But Ted Turner never would sell WCW to Vince McMahon. Never ever. How did Vince McMahon acquire WCW... he had buddies in AOL who helped him.
Internet Explorer Developers' Coalition No, idiots don't research. Like you. If you don't research the information you idiotically start name calling people and that's it. And then you add the word "conspiracy theorist" like it devalues what I'm saying when you really didn't.
Agreed like the Montreal screw job. I just felt in my gut Bret was also apart of it in some shape form and fashion behind the scenes BEHIND THE SCENES...
Wrestling is a art. The idea is to make it LOOK like you're hurting your opponent but in reality you're not. And I don't think Goldberg ever understood that. Goldberg hurt everybody he wrestled, they said that every move Goldberg did hurts.
Money 345 bret was 8 highest grossing wrestler in 90s 13 in wwe histroy. His 5th reign 18 highest in terms house shows 96 and 97 he sold out house shows. In your house Calgary stampede summerlsam 97 92 wrestlemania 9 survior 92 and 97 survivor seris made big money live gate .rumble 1993 had high buyrate
bret was def not greedy he DID NOT WANT TO leave vince he loved him like a father. It was the change in wwe and the creation of the Attitude Era, that bret was not comfortable with. Bret was still loved by the kids and he was all about the kids, and wwe was transitioning to teenage and adult oriented programming. He was not comfortable with making gay jokes on live tv, swearing and all kinds of stuff vince wanted him to do. Bret was not happy being a heel as well, and was not happy telling america to kiss his ass, and all stuff wwe was having him do. He first and foremost was all about the children. Because of that situation, vince wanted to let him out of his contract. Vince def could afford it, but Vince also favored Shawn Michaels, because for one, Shawn was also being creattive on the more adult oriented stuff he & HHH were doing with DX. Many people rumored that Shawn and Vince had a secret sexual relationship in which bret said himself he felt might have been true but no proof. While I disagree, I feel the same that Shawn's in ring work was sooo top notch and the ability LIKE BRET to make the stiffest wrestler still look good in a match, that it would be stupid for vince to put him down, he really didn't have nobody else in that caliber aside from Owen and Bulldog at those times. But bret not being happy with the angles that was pitched to him, not being happy being heel and just not being happy with his role with wwe and their transition to the attitude era, is why Vince wanted to let him out of his contract. Think about it, if it was only about money Bret said he would take LEss pay and stay, vince still wanted him out. He wanted to go the direction of DX, And austin era. He didn't want to cater to kid oriented programming as he was losing so bad to bischoff he almost got put out of business. He had to make a change, and Austin's Character along with DX was working and already attracting fans. Bret could not understand that for sure. Either way, I have to agree, he's been through soo much with the business he loved and lived for. He was screwed, humilitated, it tore his relationship up with his family ruined his marriage, and then goes to a company that would not push him while he was WHITE HOT, because of Hogan and his ego or as they say - the HOGAN EFFECT, so he basically sat on the bench going from face to heel to face again to heel again, they just didn't know what to do with him because the main thing was for him to feud with Hogan, and hogan wanted nothing of it. Not to mention Nash who became head booker made it worse for bret because Nash had bitterness towards bret for never wanting to job to him in wwe as bret felt the belt needed to be taken off of nash as he was the worst draw of a champion in which bret was right - DIESEL was! So with nash having power it was certain bret was never going to get what he rightfully deserved and worked hard for and that was for sure.
Bret got screwed up bad from that kick. It's shocking how bad Bret got hurt from that kick. It looks stiff, but it doesn't look stiff enough to cause someone to have a stroke. But it did.
he also hit his head on the concrete when he did the ringpost figure4 leglock in the very same match (Goldberg didn't know how to hold him up well). also he was booked in a bunch of hardcore matches post Goldberg match and that fucked him up further due to being hit over the head countless times.
Bret Hart. My favorite wrestler pretty much from the first time i started watching in 1986, when he was just a quiet half of a tag-team duo....still the best wrestler ever, in ring performer and his character was the greatest...i think he has the best story of all of the wrestlers regarding his life in the business...but he's not perfect, he's been guilty of hubris and taking himself too seriously, being something of a self-centered egomaniac and so he's paid for that in a lot of ways, almost all of us act like jerks at times and almost all of us get paid back in some way....so he was punished in life for some of his failures in attitude but he was also rewarded with legions of fans for all of the great things he did in and out of the ring...
Bret says here Goldberg has apologized many times and in a more recent interview, he says he never called. He called once 8 months after and didn't feel sorry about it, yadayada
yep....an accident I love Brett Hart as a wrestler and always loved him growing up...but he's a bitter old man these days....he can be annoying. Goldberg didn't go in there with the intention of hurting Brett....
Brett was one of the best but his Wcw career never went as well as planned. . yes Goldberg injured him but with big guys this happens. how many times has Brock came close to doing the same
WCW just wanted to destroy WWE. They didnt really care about Bret Hart. they just wanted to destroy WWE at any cost. They would have signed every wrestler in WWE if they thought it would hurt WWE
I agree with everything the uploader (and Bret) is saying....except that I like Hogan. Hogan definitely pulls his weight and is a great entertainer. It's not up to Hogan to make-sure everything is right in the business. It's not Hogan's job to push or hold-back wrestlers. It's the job of the owners and front-office. Oh on last thing....I don't believe that Bret was forced-out of WWF. McMahon wanted him. But WCW threw a ton of money at him. I'm not sure what Vince's counter-offer was.
+EasyThere Pilgrim according to bret, vince made a counter offer that was not as good as what wcw was offering, but bret accepted the deal out of loyalty...then after bret refused wcw's money, vince told bret "oh by the way we don't have the money to follow through on our offer"....so bret had to go back to wcw, hat-in-hand and so of course at that point wcw's new offer was less than their original offer but still more than what vince was offering...so vince screwed bret out of millions...i know hindsight's 20/20 but bret should have just taken wcw's offer with the stipulation that he wants a rivalry agaisnt hogan, then told vince later dude...so bret botched his exit from wwf and vince fucked him over on the way out..
Owen Daniels I'm not sure if I believe that. Because it wouldn't make sense for Vince to do something so underhanded. What would that accomplish for Vince? Nothing. All it would do is make Bret very angry. And why would Vince want Bret, who was WWF Champion, to be angry? If he's angry, he's not going to drop the belt.
EasyThere Pilgrim according to bret, vince promised him the money then after bret turned down wcw's offer vince looked at his books and said hey we can't pay you what i promised you, you should go take wcw's offer...
Owen Daniels Oh okay. Well I can't blame a guy for wanting more money. But I can't blame a guy for being mad when the competition keeps stealing his guys either.
EasyThere Pilgrim wrestling is a business just like any other...if you develop a personal relationship with your boss and he's something of a father figure like maybe vince was to bret, i can see turning down more money out of personal loyalty...at the time of montreal, bret had been a WWF man for 13 years...he had more time in the company than any other wrestler...bret told mcmahon to just come close to the offer which vince did then reniged on it...business is business, there should be no emotion in business...
In his mind, only wrestlers who reached his level of success are qualified to give him orders? I'm sure Kevin Sullivan knows the business well enough to understand how things work.
Carlos Rendon actually Goldberg is a great guy. I know him personally. by the way, if I kick you or punch you in the face it's your fault for running into it. if I put you in a sleeper and choke you out it's your fault that I choke you out for getting put in the sleeper. if I stab you in the neck it's your fault for your neck running into the knife. do you actually believe Bret Hart mint to get kicked that hard? I'm not a professional wrestler but I'm in mixed martial artist and a stuntman. I'd like to show you whose fault it is when you get hit. that comment was so stupid that you made, that I would like to meet up with you in person and show you how stupid you are. I would definitely enjoy giving you brain damage
Sit on the bench? On Monday Nitro after the screw job, the entire nWo was waving Canadian flags on the program. Bret refused to join, and would show up 30 minutes before a show. Like Bischoff said, "What do you do with a guy like that?"
Brett makes no sense. He never wanted to go to WCW but was forced to? Sorry Brett, you chose to go for the money. You can only blame yourself so stop blaming everyone else.
That's what happens when you bring in green wrestlers and put them at the top without them having to pay dues. Goldberg didn't learn the hard way, he wasn't stretched to teach him respect, even Hogan had his leg broken by his trainer to teach him to look after the person he's in the ring with. Brets stroke wasn't because of the kick though, he only says it is due to the kick putting his balance off. The Stroke happened when his head hit a rock after he crashed his bike, it had nothing to do with balance issues, he was going way too fast on a rocky path without a helmet, so can't really blame the Stroke on the kick.
HTHAMMACK1 he was only over because he was booked that way, he never earned his spot. his streak was what made him, he had no promo skills, no in ring ability, without him being the 1000-0 guy he was nothing, they put him up with jobbers because he injured guys when he worked with them and Nash says they had to add in 'Goldberg' chants because most people would be chanting 'Goldberg sucks', so he might have been over for a time but the smart crowd knew he wasn't really that good, Cena is the same, pushed to the moon and his merchandise sells the most but the smart crowd knows this guy sucks but then again at least he paid his dues and earned his spot, even though he's buried lots of good talent to keep it.
Complete made up BS you pulled out of your ass. Did they pipe in Goldberg chants on RAW the other night? Goldberg not over. Your entire post is bullshit.
HTHAMMACK1 Made up BS? I literally quoted what Kevin Nash said about Goldberg, which isn't made up, you can go check his interviews, he said it. The crowd cheers everyone when they come back, even Hogan was being booed in WCW but got cheered when he came to RAW. The crowds today only get hyped if someone returns because they haven't seen the person in a long time, i'll put it this way, everytime Cena comes back and returns from a long injury or vacation he gets cheered, after a while when people see him every week, he starts getting booed again, That was similar to Goldberg back in the 90's, people who saw him every week did end up booing him and there were alot of Goldberg sucks chants. WCW piped in Goldberg chants when that happened. I know you might either be very young and it might be hard for you to understand or maybe you're just not that bright but try to put whatever bias you have in your mind away and actually look at the win Nash had over Goldberg at Starrcade, the crowd was cheering the fact that Goldberg got beat.
Dear bret, when bill was in wcw. Bill was very green, amateur. He was like a child, getting in a cookie jar. Without asking. In present day... I hope he gain better knowledge and experience. Bret, sorry for your hardship, family loss, etc...
Yea it's all due to one kick from Goldberg... A life time of head trauma is the cause of this, combat sports fighters get knocked out WAY worse every night but move on the fact Brett was in his late 30's and 40's taking this trauma is a big factor, it's impossible to pin point one incident when you take trauma on a regular basis. I've been ko'd in MMA and Muay Thai and I do suffer a little but I can't possibly pin point one shot that's caused the issues! I love Brett but he just wasn't a HUGE draw as the 'main guy' but he just can't face that fact, yes he has lost family but let's face it that was a accident. Wish Brett would just move on. I do think he's right that they should have put him in with Hogan and together it would have been a good draw.
I've seen MMA guys get their heads kicked in the 3rd row. Does it end their careers? Do you ever see the same guys fight at a later time? Blaming the stroke on a single concussion is showing medical ignorance. That may have been the last of a series of concussions, but I seriously doubt 1 concussion gave Bret a stroke. I'm sure the night life up and down the roads doesn't help either. Funny how he mentioned how the Calgary territory would have straightened Goldberg out when his brother Owen severely injured Dan Severn and Stone Cold with the same move. Bret has been bitter before he left the WWE back in 1997 and always had some sense of entitlement. For instance, who dictates where they lose a belt? He couldn't lose in Canada? The whole country? So if a wrestler is from America, does that mean they can cry about losing the belt overseas? I feel bad he's in the condition he's in and did enjoy watching him work back in the day. But blaming a bunch of different guys for his failure when he basically went to WCW to collect a check and not be involved was all on him. Bischoff was giving him, the Anvil, and Bulldog Thunder to be their playground. But Bret mopped around and never seized the opportunity.
agree 100%. IMO he just never recovered mentally from Montreal. He was in WCW in person but not in spirit. He said it himself that he didn't want to leave the WWF and it showed. I will admit the powers that be didn't use him right but his sour puss attitude didn't help. Good point about Owen injuring Austin. I guess they didn't rough him up enough in Calgary huh Bret? Sadly, injuries and accidents happen and he still cries about them to this day. I don't blame him for being bitter about Owen's death but he should stop crying about all the other crap. The world of wrestling is the furthest thing from a perfect place.
That's what you say. I met Bret Hart on many occasions and he's a piece of work himself, All the Harts were. Stew the Father and Owen were the best wrestlers and even Owen was a jerk most of the time but a better wrestler then Bret by far!
Bret is nothing but a bitter, crybaby! He needs to realize he's irrelevant these days and was never "the guy"! He's just bitter about his wwf exit and his mediocre success to this day. I used to like this guy, but every time he opens his mouth, I just roll my eyes! He blames everyone else because he couldn't carry a company or was never the number 1 guy. Great technical performer, but horrible on the mic, no personality, and a crybaby!
+quetszalcoat I said Bret had mediocre wcw success. Also he wasn't very good on the mic and that's not very debatable. He was the champ yes, but at a time when the wwf wasn't getting good ratings and was losing the Monday night wars. There's a reason they let Bret go, he wasn't marketable anymore and they had better talent!
bret harts biggest fan is, was, and always will be BRET HART. when he came on raw I changed the channel. owen could work as good or better, was a better athlete and actually had charisma. to hear him talk, everybody held him down, hulk sold out arenas for 20 years, has hart on a marquee really sold out anywhere other than a 5000 seat hockey arena in Canada? the hart family is overrated, except owen.
Bret can't accept his own faults. He never had to do that finish. He agreed to it knowing that someone wasn't experienced to preform that move. He wasn't booked with Hogan because no one cared about the match. Bret is a miserable old man, who blames everyone else for his own actions.
"You can't hurt the people that get you over and Goldberg did that and also became a huge mark for himself. " ROTFLMAO! Bret Hart was the biggest mark for himself ever.
Bret is spot on. Goldberg was so green about so many things that he hurt guys. Granted it wasn't his fault. WCW made him that way. If they had really schooled Bill like they should have done, it wouldn't have happned. We could have gotten more years of watching The Hitman. If only.
HTHAMMACK1 Wrestling IS fake - - it takes cooperation from the people you're wrestling with to put you over .... Goldberg didn't appreciate this .... hence he is/was a one-trick-pony ...
Chris Watson so I guess that's a no? lol I've watched countless shoot interview's there are a lot of guys who are positive and hold no grudge's. There is also a lot of whiner's who sound very bitter and Bret is at the top of the list. The guy got to travel the globe and make million's of dollar's doing what he loved to do, that is a pretty rough life poor guy.
HarleyFace do your research. For starters, your favourite, Harley Race, then Terry Funk, all the Von Erichs, Randy Savage, Undertaker, Dynamite Kid, 123 kid, Sami Zane, KO, CM Punk, King Kong Bundy, 1 man gang, Mr. Perfect, the list goes on. Check these names on TH-cam, Bret has good things to say about all of them. Bret is in everyone's top ten wrestlers of all time. When you reach that level you're allowed to call out the losers in wrestling, of which there are many.
Bret Hart was good but his ego was what killed him. WWE made Bret a star, and Bret didnt have what it took to make it in WCW (wasnt friends with Hogan). That being said Bret was overrated imo. Too dull to shine without Vince coaching him
Bret wasnt half the ENTERTAINER, and HBK was all fucked up when he was champ. Keep in mind that times were easy in the WWF when Bret was champ. I admit Bret was a great champ. Doesnt change the fact that Vince made him a star by replacing his nonexistent personality with glasses, catchy music, and a fresh look. If you think Bret was a better worker, or personality you should go catch your short yellow bus. Shawn Michaels, and Bret Hart were assholes. But HBK has proven time and time again that in the ring, and on the mic Bret couldnt compare to HBK. Bret was good, but I always found his matches kinda boring. I've always thought Owen was way better than Bret in the ring, and on the mic. HITMAN WAS OVERRATED!!!! VINCE MADE HIM A STAR!!!! HBK had the personality to be a star without having Vince create his persona.
+Kevin Kropp You're an idiot. Allow me to elaborate. Have you watched Bret Hart Vs. British Bulldog (summerslam), Bret Hart Vs. Stone Cold (wrestlemania 13), Bret Hart Vs. Shawn Michaels (WM 12). Now, picture this. All these matches are considered among the best wrestling matches ever. And all the matches were choreographed by Bret alone. Yes, he choreographed these matches all by himself and explained them to his partner. Once again, these GREAT matches were created by BRET alone. Not HBK, not Vince McMahon. So how is HBK better than Bret "The Hitman" Hart?
Bret complain's about taking order's from Sullivan cause he was never a top guy? That is asinine. That's like Tom Brady saying why am I gonna listen to Bill Belichick he never even played in the NFL or Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan saying why should they take order's from Phil Jackson he was a bench warmer most of his career? lol Almost all of the best coaches were mediocre player's.
Bret Hart always complaining the more Bret Hart complains about wwe and Goldberg the more of a Miliennial he becomes lol Bret The Long Lost Milennial Hart hahaha
Bret Hart my fav of all time...best technical wrestler i ever seen. his style was impeccable.
didn't call himself the excellence of execution for no reason.
Nah. Ronnie Garvin was the best technical wrestler I've ever seen.
My style is impetuous...m
***** check it out, invanillasky loses his mind when someone thinks independently....your life makes me sad (lmfao)
Wish WCW would have used Bret as a premier star in 1998-99
They really blew it. Not the only bad decision they made.
He should shut up about it then...real sportsmen get hurt all the time and don't bleat on about it for years like these soap opera actors
@@SovereignStatesman TF you mean fans rejected it? Goldberg was a massive star and the fans ate it up.
You know it's bad when you hurt Haku/Meng.
+Morris Mabalot where haku grew up, there's always coconuts falling out of the trees so you gotta have a hard head...
+Owen Daniels nice one, make sure bobby heenan gets his royalty check for that line.
bladestormviking you have a great memory...that line is from the 80s...i will send Mr. Heenan his check right away
Yeah, no shit.
+Morris Mabalot Kevin Nash has said when you hurt a Samoan you know you're dangerous.
I never been more excited about a wrestler debuting. And after two weeks seeing him in WCW I knew it was nothing
Hart vs Hogan. Hart vs Warrior. Warrior vs Goldberg. Hogan vs Nash. Sting vs Warrior. All this multi-millionaire dollar pay-per-view potential never done...Ted Turner should have ran the show himself..
Hogan vs Nash was done at Road Wild 1999
If they'd have left the book with Flair this business would have got done.
The fact that two different promotions could've booked Hart vs Hogan but didn't is a travesty
Hogan vs bret happened
That’s exactly right!
Can we just recap that he drove his foot at Bret’s head as he was coming off the ropes, you never see wrestlers do that
According to Bret Hart, "Bill Goldberg hurt a lot of guys.", yet he was the only one who suffered permanent damage by this man?
Life isn't fair, boo-hoo let's all cry about it. #fuckhitmanhart
Made millions for the WWE?😂 He was one of the worst drawing champions only second to Kevin Nash
"That Montreal thing" as though it was nothing lol
that line about Bischoff selling meat from a truck is quite possible my favorite line in the history of pro wrestling.
goldberg was not at fault for what happend to bret, he never had the kind of training for the business that others had and take for granted, goldberg went out there and did what he was told to do, he had no intent to hurt bret, bret knows the score, a lot of the moves, holds and throws can do someone serious harm, thats why so many wrestlers have had broken bones, broken necks and spines, when you go in that ring, you do so knowing the risks, its unfortunate and sad that brets career was ended like that, but it was not goldbergs fault nor brets, it just is what it is.
in short all those coming on here calling goldberg worse than crap for what happend, get over it, it was not done intentionally, brets over it and does not blame goldberg for it and neither should you.
then he shouldnt have been in there
@@jakelang806 oh please there are wrestlers that had far more training that did a lot worse to other wrestlers by accident for example, owen heart broke stone colds neck doing a pile driver, the time mick foley had his teeth knocked out of his mouth and out through his nose, the list is endless, mistakes get made, not everyone is trained the same or to the same standard but even the best screw up, you need to get a grip.
WCW should have used Bret Hart better.
I think Bret is one of the greatest of all time but out of the ring he's a crybaby.
+jamesgville come back and repost that comment after YOU being kicked in the head
WCW died because WCW SUCKED. Only idiots buy into these conspiracy theories.
Internet Explorer Developers' Coalition No, idiots don't research. Like you. If you don't research the information you idiotically start name calling people and that's it. And then you add the word "conspiracy theorist" like it devalues what I'm saying when you really didn't.
J Walk
Ok, Mr. Research, put up or shut up time. Submit your legitimate sources to back up your bullshit claim.
I always found that spot to be one of those weird LOOKING incidents. The kick, to me, never looked career ending
he wrestled after that
Agreed like the Montreal screw job.
I respect bret but he said Kevin Sullivan never drew anything the same can be said about him too, just look at his championship title reigns in WWF
no it cant
Money 345 bret was 8 highest grossing wrestler in 90s 13 in wwe histroy. His 5th reign 18 highest in terms house shows 96 and 97 he sold out house shows. In your house Calgary stampede summerlsam 97 92 wrestlemania 9 survior 92 and 97 survivor seris made big money live gate .rumble 1993 had high buyrate
What’re you talking about…? Also, Sullivan drew massive money in FLA
He doesn't hold any bitterness but listen to him......
bret was def not greedy he DID NOT WANT TO leave vince he loved him like a father.
Butt Hurt has broken toys in the attic
To be fair one doesn’t contradict the other. Goldberg could have phoned him over the years after.
I don't believe it was intentional when Goldberg kicked Bret Hart in the head.
This is professional wrestling...shit happens.
yep....an accident
I love Brett Hart as a wrestler and always loved him growing up...but he's a bitter old man these days....he can be annoying.
Goldberg didn't go in there with the intention of hurting Brett....
Brett was one of the best but his Wcw career never went as well as planned. . yes Goldberg injured him but with big guys this happens. how many times has Brock came close to doing the same
And let's not forget taker.
Real wrestling fans love bret hart
Brett needs to try a Hyperbaric Chamber
Make a video on Bret and call it who doesnt Bret like.
The size of the ring in WCW was tiny. How could some of the talent pull off moves without injury’s happening if the guys don’t have the space.
In his mind, only wrestlers who reached his level of success are qualified to give him orders? I'm sure Kevin Sullivan knows the business well enough to understand how things work.
+Richard Wolfe The same Kevin Sullivan that created the dungeon of doom.
Yeah. I liked the dungeon of doom. Not everyone can be a star.
Some say Bret is bitter, but at least he is honest. So many wrestlers bullshit so much in shoot interviews, but Bret does not.
Guess Bret Hart can never let things go always holding a grudge
Jr Prudente goldberg is an asshole and he did hurt so many superstars but this injury was on bret he is the one who ran into that kick
We all love you Brett and what you have done for the business. Let it all go because your still bitter about Survival Series and WCW
Sit on the bench? On Monday Nitro after the screw job, the entire nWo was waving Canadian flags on the program. Bret refused to join, and would show up 30 minutes before a show. Like Bischoff said, "What do you do with a guy like that?"
Phil Baroni put Goldberg right in his place on live TV!
when?
I don't believe for a second that Goldberg meant to hurt him. Accidents happen
Brett makes no sense. He never wanted to go to WCW but was forced to? Sorry Brett, you chose to go for the money. You can only blame yourself so stop blaming everyone else.
I was diagnosed with punch drunk syndrome eighteen (18) years ago.
Bret Hart's biggest problem has always been that he KNOWS EVERYTHING & nobody else knows anything.
Man this dude whines more than any man I ever heard.. jesus man suck it up.. it cant all be everybody else's fault..
I don't hate Goldie but don't understand how the nuthuggers can't accept how unprofessional and dangerous he was.Not just Bret.
Why did Owen hurt Austin if Stampe wrestling was so good at training its guys... and dont get me wrong I have Harts backs always
+Josh S He didn't need to pay his dues because he was huge almost immediately. The biggest star in WCW and one of the most over guys in wrestling.
I wish bret would have forgiven bill . But then again . He can't get over montreal
Guys like Goldberg and lesnar should Go to mma.Because as wrestlers they are out of place.
Exactly!
I agree with u, what's your opinion on Shawn?
Bret can shoot Lol, droppin sharpshooters in interviews.
That's what you say. I met Bret Hart on many occasions and he's a piece of work himself, All the Harts were. Stew the Father and Owen were the best wrestlers and even Owen was a jerk most of the time but a better wrestler then Bret by far!
He deserved better
The best winer and cry baby of all time!
Bret rips everybody, it's almost funny
Bret is nothing but a bitter, crybaby! He needs to realize he's irrelevant these days and was never "the guy"! He's just bitter about his wwf exit and his mediocre success to this day. I used to like this guy, but every time he opens his mouth, I just roll my eyes! He blames everyone else because he couldn't carry a company or was never the number 1 guy. Great technical performer, but horrible on the mic, no personality, and a crybaby!
*mediocre wcw success!
If there is a more egotistical know it all wannabe than Bret Hart, I don't know who it is.
really?
Did he really say a match between him and Hogan wouldve turned wcw around? Lmfao this guy is delutional.
It would have been a massive draw! Two of the biggest names ever in the business. Jeez I think you're the delusional one!
bret harts biggest fan is, was, and always will be BRET HART. when he came on raw I changed the channel. owen could work as good or better, was a better athlete and actually had charisma. to hear him talk, everybody held him down, hulk sold out arenas for 20 years, has hart on a marquee really sold out anywhere other than a 5000 seat hockey arena in Canada? the hart family is overrated, except owen.
ROTFLMAO! Bret Hart was the biggest mark for himself ever.
Naaaah Goldberg Goldberg Goldberg Goldberg
He didnt accept his new roles in the attitude era, so he had to go.
+Arthur Clairefontaine He CREATED this "attitude era"
+Pritam Jaykar Wrong. The attitude era didn't start until March 1998, when Austin won the WWF title at WrestleMania 14.
deadwalke wrong attitude era started in 1995 with DX vs Hart Fondation.
Bret is spot on. Goldberg was so green about so many things that he hurt guys. Granted it wasn't his fault. WCW made him that way. If they had really schooled Bill like they should have done, it wouldn't have happned. We could have gotten more years of watching The Hitman. If only.
why go then? $$$$ Wrestlers have no leverage today too lol erm
Goldberg was INSANELY full of himself .... thought he was 'winning' because he was 'awesome' ..... eessshhh...
+EcceSignumRex Goldberg is one of the most humble, nicest guys you will ever meet, and I have. Goldberg knew wrestling was fake as hell.
HTHAMMACK1
Wrestling IS fake - - it takes cooperation from the people you're wrestling with to put you over .... Goldberg didn't appreciate this .... hence he is/was a one-trick-pony ...
This dude is bitter about everything!!!
Does Bret "Debbie Downer" Hart ever have anything good to say about anybody?
HarleyFace Bret has a real rough life inside and outside the ring. He is no different than any other retired wrestlers shooting on other wrestlers.
When you reach that level you're allowed to call out the losers in wrestling, of which there are many.
so much whining
Bret Hart was good but his ego was what killed him. WWE made Bret a star, and Bret didnt have what it took to make it in WCW (wasnt friends with Hogan). That being said Bret was overrated imo. Too dull to shine without Vince coaching him
+Kevin Kropp Bullshit. Bret was by far a better world champion then HBK. How the hell is he overrated?GTFOH
Kevin Kropp Lol....Butthurt??
Lol! Maybe a little. Preparation H is a life saver. Dont get me wrong, Bret Hart was great! But HBK was on another level as a performer
+Kevin Kropp
You're an idiot.
Bret hart didn't age good @ all. He looks 70.
Personal losts through the years, Depression and bitterness to this day did that to Bret 🤷♂️
What a mark.
What a legend. Facts.
Bret Hart is a legend and I'm a Bret Hart mark . Kurt Angle too.
Foh
Bret Hart always complaining the more Bret Hart complains about wwe and Goldberg the more of a Miliennial he becomes lol Bret The Long Lost Milennial Hart hahaha
Crybaby Bret
Does this guy ever stop? Omg the victim ... in every story
I agree that Goldberg is dangerous and he sucks
why go then? $$$$ Wrestlers have no leverage today too lol erm
