I first heard Pedro The Lion when I was like, i don't know, 14 probably. I liked it immediately. But all of David Bazan's projects are a lot more meaningful to me as I get older. I just relate to them on an entirely different level now than I did as a young teenager. A song like "Options" means something different to a 14 year old than it does to a 34 year old. His subject matter has also kind of grown with me, and in the same direction as me, also. Owen is the same way for me. If I had heard "Everyone's Asleep In The House But Me" as a teenager, it wouldn't really strike the same chord that it does with me now.
