This run wasn't made using rapid-fire, but that doesn't mean it's legit. In fact, since the earlier time was made with cheats, this one probably was as well, but with undetectable ghost "savestates" instead of rapid-fire.
why would he turn back towards the wall right at the end? I know it might save thousandths but surely it's not worth the risk of hitting the wall suspicious..

That's what? The first time I've beaten you by luckies? And you also didn't bounce at the bridge either. Had I gotten a smooth bridge like you I don't think the luckies would have been necessary. IIRC I didn't get two perfect luckies anyway. But yeah I know how it feels, I don't like getting a WR that way but if that's what it takes at this point then I might as well.

Automatic is MUCH faster on Moonview Highway.
It's why the god time for this course uses automatic.
