A bit of trivia about baseplates of die-cast models.
Although it has nothing to do with HOT WHEELS,
Back in 1996, ERTL released a 1:24 scale model of the purple DODGE VIPER, complete with all the info stamped on the botto chassis, or baseplate.
However, in the part that says Reproduced by permission from the CHRYSLER Corp.
They misspelled it as CHRYSTLER, adding the "T"
A quick call to the company wasade and they rectified it quickly.
However, some already made to the market.
And because of that , they were being resold at the astonishing price of $200.00
From the. MSRP of only $36.95
I got one and kept it in its original window box.
Yet , some eager "collectors" wete attempting to sell them almost the very next day, sd seen in the Antiques & Collectables page of the Rocky Mountain News

The codes are great to know if you’re getting scammed on a loose car posing as a certain release. For example the Jetta from F&F or the blue Porsche gt3 RS from F&F the grey r34 skyline etc. etc. and not get scammed saying it’s the first released casting and it’s actually a new release
