This hotel is perfect for anyone who's both a history buff and a gamer. From the heron sculpture made of stuff left behind to the library and the hotel room, the aesthetic is exquisite. To be able say you woke up in Nintendo's original headquarters is something else
I really like that the Nintendo elements are super subtle and not bashing you over the head. It tows a fine line between elegant and young-at-heart with it's history.
It had that elegance, you're right! It's a different experience compared to what you think of when you hear "Nintendo." It's even better when you realise the history behind it all. My favourite was the original hanko that are in the library. Imagine the papers they had to stamp with those over the years that would eventually lead to what we have today 🤯
This was so relaxing and peaceful to watch! Thank you. Definitely a place I’d like to stay. Additionally, my partner would really appreciate this because he is a huge fan of Nintendo through the years.
I have a ton of content coming in the next little while! This was such a great experience, I'm glad I was able to share it with all of you. Thank you for always watching and commenting, Violenzia ❤️
Nintendo!!Wow! The library is a steal for me. I'm sold with it especially the assortment of free and unlimited drinks and refreshments! Omg. Got this hotel on my bucket list Cris. I love the aesthetic of it. I save this video because i want to renovate my room like the one with a bathtub outside. I'm in love!! Thank you sir!
I can't believe this video only has 35k views... it feels like it should be at least 350k because it's a really nice quality video with very interesting contents!
wow - Ninento it is!!!!! What a great tour u gave and your experience seem to have fulfilled your dream of a life time. The hotel is awesome and deserves 10 stars - beautiful! The rooms are also gorgeous, too. Love the historic meaning of this place and glad thy decided to keep many of the items in their library - such a unique experience. Thank you for taking the time to share with us. I feel every moment you were there!!!
Nothing makes me happier than seeing videos with a super genuinely excited Chris! Looks like such an amazing place to visit- especially love the library, too.
How very cool. I had no idea Nintendo started out as a paper playing card company! That time clock was amazing, as was the library, and the excruciating attention to detail everywhere. It is funny to think who in the company decided to jump into the crazy new world of electronics and computer games, and who was resistant to change!
Wow!!! Thank you for sharing that experience! I learned so much I never knew about Nintendo. And such lovely amenities! I bet you felt deservedly pampered. 😉👍
I would definitely stay there! I love the way the Japanese do their hotels. Nothing I'd done by halves. . especially the toiletry. I never see razors and toothbrushes at USA hotels. And this one is in Kyoto which is one of my favorite cities in Japan. Beautiful and it was the original Nintendo Quarters?! Yes please!
This makes me want to open up my house as a hotel for fans. Though I hope the fans wouldn't mind seeing several portraits of me portrayed as different historical figures like Napoleon
That is amazing! I'm planning a trip to japan and I'm definitely staying at this hotel! Is there somewhere you can buy those books that are in the library?
What an interesting place. The Nintendo history is incredible. I don’t think we’d stay there on our next trip because it seems to be more of a place for solo travelers/couples not so much families. But Japan already has so much for Nintendo families, this a really cool option for a different market. Great video Chris 👍👍
Hey! It's good to see you in the comments. Yeah, I don't think this is ideal for families (especially with the price) but for two adults who are Nintendo fans that want a more luxury experience with rich history, then this is it!
Hold the phone - so during your stay, restaurant meals are included in the price!? Including the mini-bar!? So luxe! Thank you for sharing your experience! NINTENDO
That place looks so nice and I'd probably really enjoy the library there (I can't read much Japanese but there are pictures lol). The first console I ever played on was a family computer and seeing it here brought back memories of playing duck hunt and bomberman XD. The rooms look comfortable to be in (the beds looked soft). Also the food looks great especially the breakfast. Wish I could stay there cause it's probably better to see everything in person. Nintendo.
I did my best to capture the vibe. It's so full of history that it's tough to capture on video. It's someplace you definitely have to see in person. Thank you for watching and all the way to the end too!
I would spend all my stay at that hotel in the library trying to read all the books before I check out. 😳 Actually, can visitors still use the library even if they aren't booking a room to sleep there?
OMG, is this really all included? Because I really want to go there when I can finally go to Japan, but I'll be so afraid to touch anything because I already sold my soul to the Yamauchi Family in exchange of Mario games and toys, I need what I have left of me O.o
Yup! You can just get the room without the all-inclusive if you want it a bit cheaper. But, getting three full meals and access to the bar (unlimited drinks) is quite lovely. Thank you for watching!
@@tdrexplorer If I don’t drink alcoholic drinks, would you recommend just getting the room? I know that all-inclusive packages that include alcoholic beverages tend to add a lot to the price when not used.
Jealous and frustrated I can't go and I don't know if I will ever be able to. My wife and I thought we would have visited Japan sometime in the last two years, but then we got locked out of the country.
@@tdrexplorer Okay, didn't reach that point yet. :P But keep up the good content! I think it shows that you're enjoying what you're doing. Would love something maybe LGBTQ+ related, since as part of the alphabet mafia myself, I'm curious how Japan is reacting towards it since I plan of visiting with my better half.
I mistakenly called it that (it was a long day of filming, I’m only human and didn’t catch it in editing). I call it by its correct name later in the video.

GGP - Exacyly what I came here to say...it was elegant and still 'in the know'. A *very* attractive combination, indeed. 😏

Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching!
This place is definitely added to my bucket list of places to visit, it’s so beautiful!
This needs to be on a Nintendo fans list!
Wow, what a gorgeous hotel. The style and architecture is so different from what you usually see. So beautiful and warm.
This is truly, AMAZING!!! I am excited you got to experience that hotel, and I hope we get a chance the next time we visit Japan
Ummm two uploads in as many days?! Yes, please! What an amazing opportunity to stay there! Loved this tour and all the information along with it! ❤️

It's a unique experience you won't be able to do anywhere else, that's for sure! Thank you for watching as always and all the way to the end!
Definitely going to check this out as soon as I get to visit my brother over there. I hope Kyoto can recover.

It's beautiful!
Wow this is the last thing i expected old nintendo HQs to look like, it looks historic af. Id be afraid to touch anything
It's such a historic building and it's easy to overlook if you didn't know where it was!
hi Chris love the hotel and I still have my game boy color but I don't play with it anymore I didn't know the world nintendo has kanji
I have my Gameboy Color still too! It's the purple one. Thank you for always watching and commenting, Loretta!

Yeah! You can get the all-inclusive if you wish. It's a good option if you don't want to think about meals and plan to stick around Kyoto.
Super Nintendo World Hotel isn't exactly what I thought it would be.

Pelican? Isn't that a Crane? @1:40
It's a Heron not a Pelikan. :D
Yes. I made the mistake at the beginning and I correct myself later in the video.

We have two kids. Is this hotel only for adults?
Did you come across any books written by Mr. Iwata?
Oh and I wonder if there's any English translation of that red Mother book collection.
Was the Lego model made from actually Lego or from the knock off Legos Nintendo produced back in the day? (N&B Block)
Where you able to keep the toiletry bag? I want one!
its more like to be a business hotel
Pelican? Hehe
You got your dates wrong Nintendo started in 1889 in kyoto.
The building opened in the 1930s. The company started in 1889.
@@tdrexplorer ahh ok
How did you manage to come back to Japan now? I am so angry
I live in Japan

Not a stork but a egret
