OMG I LOVE WHAT YOU SAID! CAN I PATTEN IT MY FRIEND! KELLI BURNS 🔥PENSACOLA FLORIDA REPRESENT PEACE 🔥✌THE GIRL WITH A SHORT SKIRT AND A LONG JACKET 🔥! KELLIBURNS
since 1983 i have heard this song 1,476 times and i have to say i love it no less! it always gets to me i feel like colin wrote this awsome tune just for me. ohh now its 1,477 times. colin you will not fade awayyyyyy.
I remember hearing this song when some classmates were killed in a terrible car accident on Mockingbird Hill Lane around 84’ (I think) I drove up there one night by myself and this song was playing on the radio while I retraced their steps. The “ghosts appear and fade away” really stood out. But the solo was uplifting like we’ll all see each other again soon enough.
I remember falling in Love with my high school sweetheart when we first listened to this Men at Work record together. She said it was her favorite song on the album and so I knew she had good taste.
I like the version in standard E best. This one, in double drop D, is alright. But, if he'd just not try to hit that high octave in the last verse and stay in E it would still be wonderful... The guitar just rings so much better in E. Who am I to say?.. The man is a genius.
I saw him in an interview where he said that his wife called his drop D chords "vague chords." Whatever that means. I don't recall ever hearing his wife on top 40 radio any old way.
One of the most underrated song writers of all time
If I could wrap myself up in a sack of cats and smoke dangerous amounts of opium I would still never come as close to comfort as this song brings me.
Holy Shit Mate................ :O
LUV that sentence !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Straight up acoustic,no studio "magic". Great version of a great song!
what a miserable applause at the end. he definitely deserved way more than this!!!
In my opinion the best song of Men at work.
I love this song about the GOATS!
Songs great but it's the performance that gets you... superb
It's time to walk the streets, and smell the desperation. I LOVE Colin's phrasing, his soul, his heart. Hope I get to see him play live sometime.

GHOSTS DRINK BEER AND FADE AWAY ! .................................. GENIUS !
I think he said "goats appear and fade away." But I could be wrong.
TRICK-OR TREAT - did you bother to look up the lyrics to the song? It goes "I can't eat red meat, I stink because of complications".......
4 people were alone between the sheets...and didn’t appreciate the reminder.
@11thhourreprieve yeah you're right, i was joking more or less on this one.
@MalteseCross actuallly it is both E down to D
@magouero no shit.. i know that

I have other songs
@MalteseCross Actually, Drop D is pretty standard, nothing out of the ordinary.
He ate a vegemite sandwich.
