For yellows, I used to do OK with a baited spoon but when I started using a dropper about 8 inches below my spoon my catch rate doubled. I don't use electronics so I can't tell what mood the fish are in but it doesn't matter, I consistently ice more fish. My good days are banner and my zero days are less and less. I can think of nothing that has made such an impact (as utilizing a dropper) except maybe dropping to four pound test.
