  • The front fell off Hurst castle! Glad they are fixing it. This episode I sail over to Old Harry and his wife and stop in at Studland bay for lunch. Then a quick sail into Poole harbour to drop the hook next to Brownsea Island!

    Nice morning sail! I like the news snippet of the fort's front falling off - had a Monty Python flashback the way those guys were going on - thanks!

    When i saw the title, that's the clip I thought about and said oh hell no! The front of Meraki couldn't fall off! It's FRP mold casted! LOL

      Hahah that was the first clip I thought of when I came across the castle! Meraki is a tough little bathtub as you will see from some of the future episodes!

    Always remember to put in the ladder! LoL. Catching some good morning wind there Alex, well done! Oops, until you ran out of wind 🌬

    “The Front Fell Off”!! Thanks for including the little clip from Clarke and Dawe, a bit of classic Aussie comedy. The event they are referring to was a cargo ship that actually did have its front fall off at sea near Perth, West Australia. Nice part of the world you sail in, no castles where I sail my trailer sailer.

      Haha no problem! It was the first thing that came to mind when I saw the damage. It’s the perfect spot for a trailer sailer. Thanks for watching and I hope I see you out on the water one day Joe!

      Look forward to watching it. I sail out of Christchurch. It's a lovely place. Just treat the entrance & run with respect. Take it easy. All the best Jim

    Nice sailing. Always worthwhile rigging a preventer when you run down wind and the other thing, when you are cooking in the cockpit, make sure that the heat from the stove doesn't burn, blister or set fire to you cockpit combing.

    Hi Alex ive never actully sailed down to poole only in my friends motor boat just to ask how long it took if can remember as im wanting to do it next season 😊

    • @AlexGoesSailing
      @AlexGoesSailing  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      6 hours roughly but that was in little wind and a different boat. I would recommend getting the navionics app and it will calculate time for your boat. Another option is savy navy.
