I'm 55. I don't have any aspirations to be famous anymore. That left the vision of reality after my kids came into the world. They are both adults now and I have plenty of time to do gigs locally and I'm fine with that. I just want to continue to elevate my talents even if it's only serving a handful of good people at a small venue. Being famous probably has so much stress involved it's not even worth it. I play music for myself first and share with those who wish to participate.
Wisdom, I didn’t have much in my twenties and thirties. I’d drink too much even knowing I had to wake up early the next day for work, then regretting it. My thirst for nightlife and chasing women was strong, but I learned that that’s not a healthy and sustainable lifestyle.
I remember Barbara Walters asking Bill Murray in an interview what he thought about being rich and famous. He said “why not just try rich and see if that doesn’t get it done for you!” 😂
Wow,, you've got over 10k subscribers, that's a accomplishment. I only have a few channels I go to daily. Glad I found your channel. Daily inspiration is a good thing. Have a happy day.
Reminded me of The Power of Soul, when Jimi says "Come on back to earth my friend, Come on back up with me" and "especially the ones that are flying too low!"
John Bonham knew how to accentuate Jimmy's playing within the rhythm just like Ed and Alex. It just does not work without it. We would all love to have a drummer that not only kept the bass on the beats but accentuated guitarists telepathically.
Funny that you mentioned playing behind your back. One of your uploads from about eight yrs ago showed up in my feed. "Badbrad shredding with Colt Ford". Dude, YOU WERE CRUSHING YOUR GUITAR PARTS but as I paid more and more attention to your stage presence and you playing behind your back, it looked like something straight out of Spinal Tap. Have you watched that vid recently ? Thanks for uploads. I really dig your stories about you being in a band on the Strip in the 80's. I was a teenager during that era. Give anything to go back !
I hear you.. from one who has been way too close. I think the high from playing music is so powerful and so intense that the natural thing to do is chase everything else that can keep you that high when you’re not performing. And with being young and being a guy comes that feeling of being invincible. Some of us didn’t fare out as well. Some of us were tougher maybe. I’m just glad to still be here, even though I don’t have all of my feathers…. It was nice listening to someone who knows the story well.
"This foolish game, oh, it's still the same, The notes go playing off in the air, Don't you believe it's true Music is all for you It's really all we have to share 'Cause rockin' and rollin' It's only howling at the moon It's only howling, howling at the moon..." Hello Brad! Parents just want what's better/best to their children and worry all the time about your hapiness ! I still have the letter my father wrote me when I was sixteen, and decided to become a full time guitarist/musician and quit studying (both my parents were teachers, so it was a shock for them), but only good advices in there! It's a priced possesion (he passed away , way too young, & I miss him a lot, he was a great guy and quited(?) his passion (Soccer coach), because of his children!) So, with my guitar, I've been cruising around the Galaxies (yes faster than light!), for years, no melting wings. Sometimes, I lack combustible, but a few nice chords and my spaceship(guitar), just jumps into hyperdrive Intergalactic style ! The down side, It's hard to find a good crew to operate the vessel! Oh, one thing, I never work or worked for the 'Empire' (show business), always have been part of the 'Resistance' (didn't sold my soul, in France, we call it 'prostitution!'), and managed to do things my way... Take care & keep Rocking ! ps again, sorry for my bad English... And congrats again for the 10.000 subs ! As I told you, I don't drink alchool, but got out the good sake, for the occasion ! Cheers!
Cheers to you Pedro....It is always one of the highlights reading your comments. You are a good dude as we say in the States. Your father was a wise man. Thank you and keep rockin'!

0:46 That mythology is generally aegean/pelasgian or Macedonian, not Greek as the mainstream wrongly teaches. The real so-called "Greeks" were the Danai, arrivals from Africa/Arabia to the Peloponnese and lower islands. The term "Greek" is attributed to foreigners/scammers and first coined by the Romans. For example those mythical figures from Mount Olympus (home of the gods) were located on Macedonian territory. Other figures were worshiped from other parts of the world at that time not just in Europe. It's a whole other topic but this should be pointed out because the general western public is not given the truth about many historical matters.
Recently the story of Icarus for me has been an interptetation of life not just for musicians but for all professions from janitor to astronaut & beyond, as Icarus' fall is the fall we all take when our bodies ultimately give out on us. I think this is why music & musicians can seem so incredible. Music reminds us of our shared humanity & that together we can get at least one person even closer to the Sun than Icarus did and why not as the risk for trying really can't be avoided anyway. YMMV but there's a Matt Scannell song called Instamatic w/Neil Peart that I heard recently & maybe is influencing my comment here IDK. That song is more about accepting fate than going for the win but its lyrical poignancy makes me want to jump while I still live not lie down & so it feels relevant to add in a way I have only shelved not tried to reflect on yet to offer anything more to the comment.

Like how when The Who broke up in '82, Roger Daltrey stated that Kenny Jones clearly wasn't of the same cut as Keith Moon. And yes, The Who did soldier on, but Keith had a distinctive feel and bombast that gave those songs their edge.
I believe what happens is , and it happens to people when they are young even if they're not famous, but especially guys like John Bonham, Randy Rhoades, Bon Scott, and a long list of others, they get a feeling of being immortal and invincible. But yeah you're definitely flying too close to the sun when you attempt to put down 15 shots of tequila I heard it was that Bonham did that led to his demise. And Randy was definitely flying too close to the sun when he made the fateful last decision of his life to go on that plane that literally flew into the house after clipping the tour bus and hitting a pine tree. Tempting fate and losing. Makes me wish there were a time machine to stop him. But sometimes it's something not so obvious like what happened to John Lennon. He wasn't doing anything particularly dangerous except he figured he could let his guard down and come and go like most people. He wasn't most people. He underestimated the dark side of fandom. And that's a whole nother topic. Anyways great talk 🤘
Very important archetype. It’s about the internal flight. You can have the same effect by ,wanting , to fly that high. Loosing what Jung would call individuation. The intellectual capacity for humility and true awareness of the self. What we do on the outside simply puts our head trips into a blender of our internal processes ,natural law, elemental forces.
And then powerhouse Morgana wallet takes a powder five mins before taking stage at ole Miss stadium show a couple years ago, does that kill the town? I know that wouldn't fly in the 80s
