The Enneagram is an ancient spiritual tool for teaching discrimination between good and evil, between sin and virtue. It has foundations in all three of the monotheistic religions of Judaism, Christianity and Sufi Islam, because the wisdom is universal, deep and life-changing for all searching peoples.
Fr. Richard is a Franciscan of the New Mexico province and the founder of the Center for Action and Contemplation. He will be holding the conference "The Enneagram and Paradox" in Assisi, Italy from 29 May until 1 June, 2008.

I love the Ennegram it's changed my life and the work I do with clients from a therapy point of view. I'm on the verge of creating hypnosis CD's for all the Enneatypes but am reading up more before I start. I am a 6/5 after all!?! Best wishes to all :-)
The Enneagram is no different than any other "self-knowledge" tool. And it, like all the others, can help us to live in that important command, "Know thyself." For example, in grad school, every single course I took had some kind of tool to do that. The Myers-Briggs, conflict inventories, etc., etc. The enneagram is interesting because it tries to bring the soul and energy into this whole self-analysis thing. But even this can be distracting. I probably know more external stuff about "me" than most folks but self-knowledge has availed me nothing until I gave up and gave in and started practicing God's presence. Only then did the blinders begin to fall off and I began to become willing to see where I was lying to myself. (Grin!)
There is great insight in this clip in regards to discerning types, but I hadn't really thought about it correlating to discernment of spirits-- interesting, that. There really IS a feeling out of who a person is (the soul) when determining type thouh, and I agree that the motivations really do manifest in physicality and expression.
Finally, more Richard Rohr video material available, although I'd say there's definitely a need for more.
It's great to see the Enneagram didn't go under completely, unless this is older footage.

Feel free to mail me and let me know what you'd specifically like in it and we can negotiate a price depending on it's content length. I'm using a lot of Helen Palmer and Riso/Hudson plus personal experience and adding binaural beats to it. I've had some real breakthroughs with it personally and with clients (plus EFT and Coaching too). I've made one's for 6's and 4's, and have a commision for a 2w3 and an 8w7. Namaste :-)

Unfortunately, some people miss the point! The enneagram uses the gospel of Jesus and His perfect example of His life to transform our hearts. Do your homework.
Why does one need an addition to the gospel of Jesus?
Enneagrams doenst reveal who you are, it aids in making unconscious patterns of behavior conscious. Thus it helps you discern what is useful and what is not worthwhile to continue. Antroposophy was founded by Rudolph Steiner who was unhappy with the theosophical movement's wrong perception of Christ. There is nothing like occult knowledge, the lord himself declared that everything will be revealed and made known. So there is nothing to fear or fight against except our own temporary blindness.
The gospels are full of obviously forced prophecies in order to make Jesus look divine. There's nothing wrong with someone trying to make something practical and useful come from them.
The Enneagram is bogus. The only reason why it "works" for some is that, like anything out there, there is some truth to it. If anyone wants to know the real history behind it and why it's bogus, check out the article from Fr. Mitch Pacwa titled "Enneagram: A Modern Myth". He gives names behind it's creation and uses sound reasoning to debunk it. I would encourage all to read it. The article is available for free on the internet.
Enneagram come from Sufism not from other religions and I ( I' m muslim), I say that with respect to other religions...

sadly there is much nonsense being taught in seminaries today, creeping in somehow and diluting the truth of the Catholic faith!
I think this is getting out of hand... the popularisation of the enneagram and all the preachers who repeat and reinterpret as if they where an authority, like this man.... Suddenly everyone's an expert and everyone is exited identifying themselves with a character, as if reading a daily horoscope... The enneagram is something very deep and complex. If you are sirious about it you should go to the source and read Naranjo's work.
This "work" confuses the understanding of personality for how it expresses. Knowing that a dog barks is not understanding how to take care of a dog or what a dog is. To pretend otherwise is called vanity, and vanity is a chief feature of personality.
this is forbidden in the Catholic Church, to use the enneagram!! Heresy is not good people, go back to the gospel of Jesus Christ!!
