Fighter is still an option to guarantee the 3rd action but is worse than pure caster in most cases and the heavy armor is irrelevant since you’ll need to wear the Potent Robes to stack charisma mod with agonizing blasts for a massive +10 per beam assuming maxed charisma
ye and he totaly ignores the gear in the game , no f's given about heavy armor when you have a robe that gives bonus damage based on charisma on your cantrips. etc etc
Actually maxed cha gives you +14 per ray (24 cha) +7 proficiency bonus wich is doubled by potent robe, I like to go lvl 5 warlock so I can recycle sorcery points every short rest
You can also take Draconic Bloodline with Bronze since it gives more Charisma damage if you deal damage with your bloodline’s elemental type (lightning for Bronze). Then take the Spellsparkler from Waukeen’s Rest, and later down the line the Legendary quarterstaff from Act 3 and dual wield them to get crazy amounts lightning charges, each giving you more damage from the charges themselves AND from your bloodline adding +5 from your charisma.
@@vernaltear Actually got nerferd some time ago, in order to add your proficiency bonus to the damage now, the spell casted must be the same type of your elemental affinity, so secondary damage sources like electric charges doesn't count anymore
For gear i would deffo go for Potent Robe and Gemini Gloves (giving your charsima modifier to your cantrips, stacking with agonizing blast on every charge of eldrich blast and the gloves let you cast you cantrip a 2nd time on a foe or ally, meaning you get 6 eldrich blast charges with 1 action per short rest).
Maybe on earlier versions of the game this happens idk but the Gloves only give 1 extra beam. So at level 11 you would get 4 beams not 6 beams. Gloves are still solid as that is still 30% more attacks overall from base and it doesn't have a limit per short/long rest so just a consistent buff overall.
The fighter levels for action surge and heavy armor proficiency seems cool. With my SorLock I chose Human as the race and that gives medium armor and shield proficiency which has been good enough, If you go that route you can be a sorcerer at level one for proficiency in constitution saving throws. I also ended up not even using the medium armor because there are a really strong set of Robes you can earn in act 2 call the Potent Robes that add your charisma modifier to your damage rolls a second time. With 14 Dex, a shield, the cloak of protection you can buy from the Harpers, and being a Dragon sorcerer I’m at 18AC without armor and that goes up to 20AC when I’m hastened
By level five...my "fighter" warlock sorcerer almost solos most fights. This is a fantastic set up! And to think...I played 20 hours before I new we could multi class.
You can also drag it from the spell menu into your hotbar to make it more convenient. Sometimes I use the first blast to push an enemy away then disable it for the follow up. Plus enviro kills.
I do prefer my big beefy heavy armor :D Potent robe is a nice way to play it but then you gotta change the whole approach and also pick dragon magic i think
I have 8 different play throughs of constant refinements on a build like this again and again and this is what i have: So far you did better than any other youtuber i have seen. I did a build with the exact same multi-class layout with this (That part you nailed, hence how you did better than most). Your missing a few things though. Stock up with potions of angelic reprieve to do a coffeelock build *You can get them and stock up on them from Lann Tarv in Moonrise Towers act 1 and reset and repeat via spamming rests with no food* (since you quickly run out of quickened spell metamagic points otherwise). And I discovered you can also use the Helmet of Grit + Mindflayer Transfuse health to get a third bonus action to add even more blasts. 👀 So you can have 18 blasts actually. XD You can also do Gemini Gloves for 6 blasts for one action per short rest. So 21 blasts once per short rest but 18 blasts otherwise now. Than use potent robe for additional damage per blast alongside agonizing blast. I didn't know about Phalur Aluve though and previously used the SpellSparkler. Thanks for notifying me of that. 😁👍 Darn... Now i need to go back and play a 9th playthrough to min-max with this blaster even further. Thanks for notifying me (I'll see if i can find even more stuff in the process to because why not). 😂👌 (Added in stuff i forgot to mention upon looking at my last Blasting Build: You can do Spellsniper for crit +1. You can also do Deadshot Bow for additional chance to critical hit, Get Dual wielder feat for Bloodthirst OR Knife of Undermountain King in offhand for additional chance to critical hit & champion fighter for additional chance to critical hit. For +4 base chance to critical hit. Now if you use your Rogue stuff OR darkness with magical darkvision via party member, Than you can use the Shade-Slayer robe for +5 Crit. And ontop of a Elixir of Viciousness this can become +6 Crit chance. Risky Ring for Advantage on all attack rolls *albeit with disadvantage on all saving throws* stacks really well with this additional crit chance aswell and will allow you to hit crits plenty with all your blasts. The final cherry-ontop is being a Dark Urge for stacking additional actions with Slayer form *and getting it as early as possible in act 1* which is OP. )
People straight up sleep on fiend because it's evil, basic, and archfey or old one *sound* cooler, but that very first subclass boon is INSANELY powerful in mid to endgame when you start getting like 12+ hp every kill and by then you usually can kill at least one enemy per round with your warlock. Btw @3:27 you can turn repelling blast off at will without using any action/bonus action even in combat by toggling it in the passive tab of your hotkey bar. Same thing for people who might be scared of the -5 to attack role for great weapon master or sharpshooter. Toggle it on/off when the situation fits. For eldritch blast, I leave it off a lot of the time unless there's too many near me for my comfort or I can drop them from a good height without losing the corpse. Edit: To add, action surge resets on long and SHORT rest if anyone is thinking "eh 1 time per day is mid." The game weirdly words it since long rest should already be a given. SPOILER: . . . . . In act 2 when you meet up with the tiefling bard again she will ask you to rescue her friend from Moonrise Towers. If/when you do she will give you a VERY powerful robe for charisma casters. If you are willing to forgo heavy armor, or use items and skills that get you to a similar or at least decent AC, Potent Robes: Gregarious Caster: Your *cantrips* deal additional damage equal to your Charisma Modifier. Well-Liked and Well-Fortified: At the beginning of the wearer's turn, the robe activates, granting them temporary hit points equal to their Charisma Modifier. Armour Class +1 If you did not go with fiend, the HP is a nice bonus, but the MAJOR part is the additional damage from your charisma modifier. The STACKS with agonizing blast. If you get 20 charisma that's an easy guaranteed minimum of 1d10+10 X 3 per action (on hit.) Keep in mind, while this may not be as strong as a pallock smite build or a broken as hell open fist monk per turn, but this a resource-free attack that uses force. Force is actually a bit of a sleeper benefit that a lot of people don't really think of, but almost nothing is resistant to force damage in this game.

I Agree the best there is, but then you have boon support who can do the same for everyone in party So, for multiclass with martial Fiend is the best, for pure caster? not so much

I was able to get to about 21 Eldritch Blasts that still do good damage. Warlock 2, Sorcerer 4, Thief 4, Fighter 2. Action, Hasted Action, Quicken Bonus Action, Thief Bonus Action, Action Surge, Bloodlust Action. I haven't tested it yet, but I put 4 levels into Sorcerer for the Wild Magic, off chance that you get Action surge again, but I'm sure you gain a condition for Action surge that won't allow you to do it twice.

Actually going spellsparkler (and unique staff from a3 later) is higher damage. First, you don’t waste action or do wanky pre combat prepr, second, you could give up rogue levels for sorc levels which would make every charge proc add charisma mod (with all bonuses it’s +7 so additional 21 light damage per action plus charge explosion which strangely get boosted as well) and a bonus of using shield, on top you get another asi for 2 dex for more AC, with another part member casting haste on us it’s 22-24 ac depending on your items
@@phillymct yep, levels 7 and 8 in sorc would be purely for spell slot for sorcery points tho it can be swapped for 3 and 4 in lock if you prefer, net total is better for sorc but locks slots are regained on short rest which is nice qol, you also get pact feature which is another qol
spell sniper doesnt work on this build due to how the classes are picked. spell sniper changes the main cantrip stat of the chosen cantrip to the casting attribute of the last class you picked (as in the last class to get their 1st level, not the last class to gain a level). in this case its rogue, which uses int. also, if you are going for heavy armor, its better to get lower dex, as you wont really be using that dex bonus, and only getting the initiative bonus. you could put a few more levels into warlock or fighter to get the feat alert, which adds far more than 20 dex does.
If you’re willing you could drop a feat level and add 1 level of wizard. You can learn every wizard spell from scrolls, and use the crown of intellect for additional slots and a casting stat
Warlock 2 / Sorcerer the rest is a *wildly powerful* combination Access to higher level spells and meta magic is frickin’ wild, especially if you have Hex set up for spells that do single target damage like Scorching Ray

Entirely unessasry. You can use the hat of pyroquickness with mind sanctuary to do the same without wasting levels in rogue. Going warlock 2/fighter 2 and sorcerer 8 you can do over 2k damage a round
@@P4wnyhof You dont because you still have quicken spell. Mind sanctuary just makes it simpler. You also are hugely crippling your damage. Warlock 2 with Draconic lightning 6 can multiple stack charisma on Eldritch Blast. So phalar Aluve for instance will add your charisma. Ring of the absolute will also add your charisma. Robes of potency will add your charisma again. Spellsparkler staff will again allow you to add more charisma. Spellmight will add another d8 per beam. You can still keep the 2 levels of fighter for action surge and have five casts a round with a 2/8/2 build but also do huge damage.

im running the build and so fare at level 2 warlock and level 3 sorcerer, i can only cast eldritch blast once per target(as twinned spells wont let me target the same enemy multiple times). I am generally confused atm just looking for any answers! :D
Yeah...I never understood the hype around Repelling Blast. Most of the time it just shoves the enemy away from your tanks, and knocks enemies into places you can't loot them. Finish that boss with a Repelling Blast but knock his corpse into a lava river, a chasm, or out of bounds? NO LOOT FOR YOU! Yeah, I'll pass. I'd rather drop em' where they stand and take another beneficial effect instead like you mentioned. :)
Understandable, but the opposite can help as well. Knock heavy enemies back into Hadar, Ice, Grease, Thorns etc. Knock them into your tank/melee players range, or away from your softer players. Being able to toggle it on/off helps, but it could be a problem when you want one Eldritch to knock back, and one or more to just hit (when you have multiple shots). Stay gold.
Hey, I know this is a class focus build and you are focusing on what they Class does on its own, but I feel like you are sleeping on minor illusion as a cantrip. It can be so good for party composition, gathering multiple enemies to start combat off with a fireball (or other aoe) from a wizard or sorc. The value is there, and if I'm wrong and you are aware of it, I'm happy to be wrong.
multiclassing doesnt affect exp gain in baldur's gate 3. so you can multiclass as much as you want. all characters gain the same amount of exp. even if you make them join later.

@@P4wnyhof I have to dig it up but I know I saw someone made a video where they had a ring, robe or necklace that simply gave them 1 extra blast that took them from 3 to 4. It's similar to the one you can get for magic missile to get a bonus missile on every cast but for eldrich blast.

By the way, what about the idea of combining this build with Draconic Bloodline lightning damage boost at level 6 and exploiting Phalar Aluve and all the damage add items? I saw the latter build and combining that with this build with be bonkers.
Too much bloat just to boost one spell. I say just go for sorcer and warlock, get the potent robe for damage and health boost, dex and dragon blood for armor boost, and focus on cha. Save the eldritch blasts to soften distant enemies and pick them off.

There was an item that allowed you to cast spells on melee range without penalty, but I forgot what it was. It is really useful, if you use Eldritch Blast, they get too close, then you can hit them without having to fly away, you just shoot them with rebelling blast, even if they are at your skin. Anyone remember what item that was?
I think it's called Dare Devil's Gloves. Gives +1 or 2, I forget, to spell attack rolls. Also, when threatened, you can toggle Dare Devil's Proximity to remove disadvantage on near targets with ranged spells and cantrips.
@@flipside9608 it actually activates and deactivates automatically, after patching, giving you always attack without penalty. I just got them in my new game, and yes, they are called that :) great gloves. Sometimes when you are "mid range", you have to toggle manually, so it is good to check.
I can't believe people think repelling blast is better than devil's sight. Cast darkness on yourself and blast away with impunity. I don't want to deal with a toggle constantly, and I can knock enemies back with a million other tactics.
nice build, but like many "best builds" they are only getting powerful in act 3 late game. till now I have never found a good early game build. maxed out everything is the best. ;-)
The Problem with EVERY ONE of these build videos is the same. Maxed out DPS, to hell with everything else. Wisdom 8 for example. Give's a -1 to 90% of the spell saves. What good is your machinegun Warlock if he spends 75% of his turns being held or charmed ect. Maybee a great DPS build when you make your saves but when you don't (and it will happen) your stuck with no action or even bonus action because you tanked all your stats for a few extra points of damage. Here's an Ideal make a build video that makes a "WELL ROUNDED CHARACTER" that also can crank out some high DPS at times. Not ONLY DPS. You can tell the people who have never played good old pencil and paper D&D, because video's like this is what you get.
Ah mate your cute :) You think you sound superior here but end of the day its all about positioning - Take good old astarion to thin the herd - Have your "tank" keep em busy and eldritch blast from the back I beat the game already twice with my builds and never encountered the "PROBLEMS" you are trying to create

the quickspell gloves allows to use bonus action to cast cantrip per shortrest that would be the 3 more beam per short rest :p

Actually going spellsparkler (and unique staff from a3 later) is higher damage. First, you don’t waste action or do wanky pre combat prepr, second, you could give up rogue levels for sorc levels which would make every charge proc add charisma mod (with all bonuses it’s +7 so additional 21 light damage per action plus charge explosion which strangely get boosted as well) and a bonus of using shield, on top you get another asi for 2 dex for more AC, with another part member casting haste on us it’s 22-24 ac depending on your items
Spell Sparkler is an option if you want to go that way :) 100% Possible
how would you split between the levels in that case? still 2 fighter, 2 warlock, and 8 sorc?
@@phillymct yep, levels 7 and 8 in sorc would be purely for spell slot for sorcery points tho it can be swapped for 3 and 4 in lock if you prefer, net total is better for sorc but locks slots are regained on short rest which is nice qol, you also get pact feature which is another qol

spell sniper doesnt work on this build due to how the classes are picked. spell sniper changes the main cantrip stat of the chosen cantrip to the casting attribute of the last class you picked (as in the last class to get their 1st level, not the last class to gain a level). in this case its rogue, which uses int.
also, if you are going for heavy armor, its better to get lower dex, as you wont really be using that dex bonus, and only getting the initiative bonus. you could put a few more levels into warlock or fighter to get the feat alert, which adds far more than 20 dex does.

If you’re willing you could drop a feat level and add 1 level of wizard. You can learn every wizard spell from scrolls, and use the crown of intellect for additional slots and a casting stat

Do you think 2 warlock + rest in sorc is good? I want to be more sorc big lvl 5/6 spells and if I run out use EB :|
That can also work and is pretty much full sorlock!
Warlock 2 / Sorcerer the rest is a *wildly powerful* combination
Access to higher level spells and meta magic is frickin’ wild, especially if you have Hex set up for spells that do single target damage like Scorching Ray
Okkk thanks. I kinda like the machine gun build but don't want to really only EB spam. Having the bonus action is cool but I kind of want to get disintegrate lol. But then I can only use it once :(. I will try 2 lock and rest sorc for now. I do hate not having many actions but such is the game hehe
Entirely unessasry. You can use the hat of pyroquickness with mind sanctuary to do the same without wasting levels in rogue. Going warlock 2/fighter 2 and sorcerer 8 you can do over 2k damage a round

You also are hugely crippling your damage. Warlock 2 with Draconic lightning 6 can multiple stack charisma on Eldritch Blast.
So phalar Aluve for instance will add your charisma. Ring of the absolute will also add your charisma. Robes of potency will add your charisma again. Spellsparkler staff will again allow you to add more charisma. Spellmight will add another d8 per beam.
You can still keep the 2 levels of fighter for action surge and have five casts a round with a 2/8/2 build but also do huge damage.

I’m lost or I missed something. On PS5 and a lvl 3 warlock but my EB only hits once how is yours hitting 3 with only level 2 warlock
You get more beams with EB as you level up naturally. So this is more for mid to endgame.
Which one feels stronger (and more fun) between this and your melee warlock build?
I do enjoy the melee warlock more because its fun to be melee as a warlock :D

It has both. when you use the ability it makes you choose which version you want to cast
im running the build and so fare at level 2 warlock and level 3 sorcerer, i can only cast eldritch blast once per target(as twinned spells wont let me target the same enemy multiple times). I am generally confused atm just looking for any answers! :D
You do need that level 3 on Warlock!

Yeah...I never understood the hype around Repelling Blast. Most of the time it just shoves the enemy away from your tanks, and knocks enemies into places you can't loot them. Finish that boss with a Repelling Blast but knock his corpse into a lava river, a chasm, or out of bounds? NO LOOT FOR YOU! Yeah, I'll pass. I'd rather drop em' where they stand and take another beneficial effect instead like you mentioned. :)
Understandable, but the opposite can help as well. Knock heavy enemies back into Hadar, Ice, Grease, Thorns etc. Knock them into your tank/melee players range, or away from your softer players. Being able to toggle it on/off helps, but it could be a problem when you want one Eldritch to knock back, and one or more to just hit (when you have multiple shots).

Hey, I know this is a class focus build and you are focusing on what they Class does on its own, but I feel like you are sleeping on minor illusion as a cantrip. It can be so good for party composition, gathering multiple enemies to start combat off with a fireball (or other aoe) from a wizard or sorc. The value is there, and if I'm wrong and you are aware of it, I'm happy to be wrong.

My character is currently lvl 8, how do i get the third eldrich blast per action? I only got two and i dont see a way it can increase anymore
lvl 11 you get 3, use quicken meta then it's 4.

BRO! You can toggle repelling blast off. Yeah, sometimes you don't want to push, but you can just turn it off, so you don't push.

multiclassing doesnt affect exp gain in baldur's gate 3. so you can multiclass as much as you want. all characters gain the same amount of exp. even if you make them join later.

Isn't there a ring somewhere that gives you +1 blast each time you cast to give you a total of 4? That would increase you to 20/turn.
I think it was a 1 time thingy per short rest if not mistake? Can't remember correctly :D!
@@P4wnyhof I have to dig it up but I know I saw someone made a video where they had a ring, robe or necklace that simply gave them 1 extra blast that took them from 3 to 4. It's similar to the one you can get for magic missile to get a bonus missile on every cast but for eldrich blast.

Why would you want to wear heavy armor on an EB spam build? There is a robe that gives Charisma modifier to your EB. You need it to maximize EB.
You don't need it it's just another option - I do love my tanky eb twist

Too much bloat just to boost one spell. I say just go for sorcer and warlock, get the potent robe for damage and health boost, dex and dragon blood for armor boost, and focus on cha. Save the eldritch blasts to soften distant enemies and pick them off.

There was an item that allowed you to cast spells on melee range without penalty, but I forgot what it was. It is really useful, if you use Eldritch Blast, they get too close, then you can hit them without having to fly away, you just shoot them with rebelling blast, even if they are at your skin. Anyone remember what item that was?
I think it's called Dare Devil's Gloves. Gives +1 or 2, I forget, to spell attack rolls. Also, when threatened, you can toggle Dare Devil's Proximity to remove disadvantage on near targets with ranged spells and cantrips.
@@flipside9608 it actually activates and deactivates automatically, after patching, giving you always attack without penalty. I just got them in my new game, and yes, they are called that :) great gloves. Sometimes when you are "mid range", you have to toggle manually, so it is good to check.

I can't believe people think repelling blast is better than devil's sight. Cast darkness on yourself and blast away with impunity. I don't want to deal with a toggle constantly, and I can knock enemies back with a million other tactics.
nice build, but like many "best builds" they are only getting powerful in act 3 late game. till now I have never found a good early game build. maxed out everything is the best. ;-)

It's cool but it's very gimmicky. You spend your resources in a couple of battles and it's boring to rest so often!
Fair but the way I see it you mainly save it for boss battles.
First action does not count as it was an out of combat use of the blast.
First action did use an action mate - Pay attention - the possibility is 5 blasts mostly you end up with 3
The Problem with EVERY ONE of these build videos is the same. Maxed out DPS, to hell with everything else. Wisdom 8 for example. Give's a -1 to 90% of the spell saves. What good is your machinegun Warlock if he spends 75% of his turns being held or charmed ect. Maybee a great DPS build when you make your saves but when you don't (and it will happen) your stuck with no action or even bonus action because you tanked all your stats for a few extra points of damage. Here's an Ideal make a build video that makes a "WELL ROUNDED CHARACTER" that also can crank out some high DPS at times. Not ONLY DPS. You can tell the people who have never played good old pencil and paper D&D, because video's like this is what you get.

Has this been nerfed or something? The most I can get is 4 total blasts and that is ONLY if the war skill extra action is activated. Am I doing something wrong? Currently: 2 war, 2 lock, 1 sorc.
