Man, this is a great idea for windows. All the plexiglass windows I’ve had on hinges just didn’t seal like I wanted. I have a deer stand to build this summer and will be using this idea.
I like the window idea. Very simple and very slick. Maybe put a piece of the 1/4" wood strip along the bottom edge of the window if you need it to be stiffer, or want a lip to grab for raising it up in the dark. For those pins (nails), I'd probably put a string on them and attach the other end to the roof so I didn't loose it.
In my homemade archery blind I made the plexiglass windows on hinges to swing open silently. There’s no fiddling with fighting to raise them in slide brackets. The windows have large hole mesh cloth fastened to them so the deer can be seen easily but can’t actually see in. There are 3 windows, the back wall on has a small permanent glass to check behind the blind, that are 12” wide and 30” tall. The blind flat roof is 7’6” high so you can stand and shoot. It’s on a 10’ high platform that is on a small bench about 8’ above the feeder . So this puts the standing shooter 23 feet up in reality. It’s great for cold weather with a heater. No sense in freezing when you don’t have to. It’s perfect for me at 73 years old, especially when the temps drop in late October and November. I like the swinging windows way better that the sliders.
Thanks for this. Just what I needed for a cheap and easy window. I love making deer stand!! But I’ve been making my windows different for every stand trying to find the right one for me.
Nice build! I also used plexiglass for a deer blind I made for my dad, on the right side I made it a sliding window and used trim lumber to make the railings for it. The other I used an old cabinet door and cut out the middle and placed the plexiglass over it and secured it with wood trim. So in both situations I never actually drilled through the plexiglass. But I’m no expert and have heard it can crack easily. Any tips on actually drilling through the plexiglass to make sure it doesn’t crack? Unless if the answer is slow and steady! Appreciate the video!
I have mine slide from side to side using two glasses....... instead of up and down. That way..... you can just crack it open . Limiting cold air from entering.

I will be adding a bracket to the corners that accept any length 4 x 4s. I will probably go 4 ft.
Just my 2 cents some C channel would work nicely if you didn’t wanna cut a slash for the glass to slide
looks good, how are they holding up? I would have thought you would put the same window on the door as the rest of the blind.
Decent
That blind looks like it has a couple of big scary eyes.
