I cry everytime I watch this movie and I’m a 37 year old man. Have seen it well over 100 times. It’s beyond beautiful. The acting, the cinematography, the score, ugh!
I enjoyed your reaction, it’s a great film one of my favorites. Watching Adrien Brody become a serial killer is alarming from physical abuse to killing of animals then attempted murder twice is truly haunting. When I first saw the film in the theater I was disappointed but I never gave up on the film I have rewatched it about every 5 years since then and have taken away something different every single time. The acting and music are second to none. It’s probably the most misunderstood movie of its time.
@@ShelleyIsReeling no problem it was gpod and twist work brilliantly. You would've expected it. One of his great work better than the othets. Like Glass and the Happening. Have great day keep up your work ots brilliant ❤❤❤❤
28:16 - This is the first shed I would’ve gone through as a member of this Village. They’d be like “Oop Josh found the costumes cause he didn’t listen”. 😂
31:23 - Don’t apologize. I agree wholeheartedly. This film is about a real community, loss, grief, heart, family, and the true meaning of communication through love. The reviews were awful, but I will stand by my opinion- it’s one of the best written and acted films I’ve ever seen.
@@TothanCrawk I’d like to believe that…but people enjoy being overly critical of his twists. And they treat the one in this movie as especially offensive. But the acting is unassailable.
This is one of my favorite movies and I really enjoyed your reaction. I sincerely wish it had been marketed as a romance or love story instead of how it was. The twist is so trivial compared to the love encompassed by Ivy and Lucuis. The real twist is when Ivy says her full name.
@@alemander_01 I completely agree. It stirred me so much that I knew it had to be among my first reactions on my channel, even though I’d seen it 20 years ago. I never got over Ivy and Lucius (or Mrs. Hunt and Mr. Walker, for that matter…) thank you for commenting!
@@ShelleyIsReeling It is amazing how these actors, even Bryce Dallas Howard in her first movie, can convey so much with their faces and "eyes" without saying a word.
@@alemander_01 I was not familiar with BDH’s game before this film. I was not all that keen on Joaquin as a leading man, either. But the writing and the performances of the two truly impressed me. I knew it was love before it was declared, and that’s saying something. The whole narrative is brilliant - screw the twist, praise the whole!
@@ShelleyIsReeling Her acting on the porch scene is fabulous. You can see how she is not focusing on him but is "off" because of her blindness...I absolutely agree that it is one of the best scenes I have ever seen. Loved it and your reaction. Perfection!
Hi! I just found you! I decided to give this movie another chance after what you said about it at the beginning. I also want to say that I think you can be in love without it being reciprocated. That's the reason for so many broken hearts in the world. 💜💔💜 I'm only halfway through the movie, though so I'll let you know if you changed my mind. I am watching with an open mind. 😃✌🏼💜
This comment touched me. You are correct - the very nature of love is transformative and even unrequited love can be so. I appreciate that, and I take your point. Thank you for sharing and for watching. YOU are the reason I smiled today❤️🤘🏾
@@dcamaraman939 I will always ride for M. Night. He’s entertaining, the twists are a fun gimmick, and nothing is better than Sigourney and William Hurt in that film. They defined “unrequited love.”
@@ShelleyIsReeling Im unapologetically love his dialog and sense of humor. Its SO real and earnest. Never got how some people claim "Who talks like that?" Im sorry not every movie sounds like a MCU joke !
@@dcamaraman939 the MCU has become a cornerstone of film frame of reference for an entire generation of filmgoers. I’m afraid that’s going to be something auteurs grapple with for the next decade. But, with the benefit of time, the greater themes of love and understanding have eclipsed that paradigm and an appreciation for the nuanced performances has emerged. As it should be. 😌
