Fontaine is actaully pretty simple and not obtuse pretty sure Jaiden only introduced it like that to not spoil people. lol
The trail is actaully pretty cool and netertaning with allot of nice cuts and overall very enjoyable
Fontaine main story is actaully pretty focused with some very strong characters if not the best because of how emotional and lore full it is

I would love to see Arier stream genshin.
She simplified a LOT of stuff in the Fontaine part. The story of Fontaine is actually VERY good. The only part that's not liked as much is the 3rd part.
Sumeru, the nation before Fontaine, is also pretty fun with a lot of cool and sad moments. Although exploring the desert is... a lot... for a completionist like me. ._.)
But the story was great. :D

Anyway, it is possible to be free to play, If you do quests and explore you can actually save up a lot of pulls. So FOR NOW I'm still FTP. :D
I would argue she oversimplified it, made it seem like the exploration and the story clash, that the story feels out of place and separate from most of the game.

After Inazuma the story telling got an upgrade,1.0 and 2.0 are a mistake in "tell not show"but after 3.0 they do better and on 4.0 its the peak of story telling ever so Inazuma is the last "low story showing" any player would have and after that we eating so good I cant complain about it and Sumeru and Fontaine remain in my heart as my most enjoyable nations and lore screen time ever
even liyue and mondstadt were better than inazuma in my opinion
It's peak story if you like said story. I'm still procrastinating Childe's trial and I missed more dailies in the last two month than in last three years combined. I just can't find myself caring about Fontaine plot cringe.

Congrats on crawling into 2 rabbitholes at once. And if you are in need of emotional trauma and existential dread, look up Jaiden's pokemon nuzlocke videos. She is attributed as one of the reasons Nuzlocke went main stream.

Fresh Jaiden fan here, and I've already watched her entire channel and several reactions. I also binge everything and can get obsessed with something easily, but I think all her videos are great and would love to see more reactions from you.
My wife said the same thing (actually, now that I think about it, she's mentioned checking out more of Jaiden's vids almost every week for a while now).

I keep meaning to start the main Fontaine story, as I've been told that all the previously very hidden lore is coming to the front now.
In that vein, (along with all their videos) I'd recommend Stupendium's sponsored video, as it's introductory story summary was ironically entirely the world history most players missed, because they didn't look for it (or translate Latin pomes, fragmented across servers).
Im going to be real.
Started genshin at the end of 1.6 and never quitted since.
Seen a lot of stuff inside and outside the game (the 1 anniversary and sonic fandom controversy are still pretty funny.)
The quest that jaiden mentioned is the first of the current region and she is honestly made it sound a bit bad when in reality when it came out it was considered the best archon quest and the most recent one is not only better than that one but also considered the best in all of genshin.
All i am saying is that you are missing by not checking it.
Even in term of gameplay furina that is currently the banner is considered the bedt character in the game.

When you know everything abt the story it actually is a hilarious re-telling of events splashed with her own personal handling/perspective of the story/game.
I didn't think abt how it'd come across to people not in the know, it's a 50/50 of yikes to "That sounds interesting, how did we get here?"

Also Fate Stay/Night UBW Abridged Episode 11 is coming out in January. They released the title song with lyrics and at the end they showed the release month for the next episode.
BTW not sure if you noticed but in every game that Jaiden does a video of she always plays as the boy character. I think you should react to her Nuzlocke playthroughs next (she has 2 solo and 1 soul link with fellow Nuzlocker Alpharad)
Jaiden has genuinely some of the best content on TH-cam. I highly recommend either her recent D&D video or her Nuzlocke animation trilogy.

To answer your question the worst that can happen is you lose all of your money and don’t even get a single legendary character. Don’t gamble kids, it’s made to get you addicted, and it’s made to make you lose. In Gatcha Games there is literally no way winning and you always lose, because you only spend money and you don’t get any money back.
Fontaine in terms of writing is a masterpiece actually, it was genuinely very good, even the first part till the end. It doesn't even feel like the same game from the start.
17:04 See, for me I get exactly where Jaiden is coming from. I started playing about a year ago, right after they finished updating the Sumeru Archon Quest (so about 3.3 or so) and... there's just so much to do and see and explore. I have pretty much the full map available to me, I can go just about anywhere in the world at this point. There are events that are happening in Fontaine that I'm actively taking a part in. Nothing is holding me back from any of it. And I'm only in the first part of Inazuma. I still have to visit Thoma in the Komore Teahouse. Instead, I've been exploring every single island in the nation as much as I can. I have 3 full Archon Quests plus their interludes, plus the character story quests, plus regular world quests and so much more. It almost feels impossible to catch up, especially as someone who reads pretty much all the dialogue, and... I kinda like it that way. It's freeing, to be able to pick and choose who and what to focus on whenever I want, so even grinding out materials isn't a chore as a result because I have so many options.
If you find it difficult not to spend in the game, you can limit yourself to just buying the 5$ pass, and you can basically get a new character every other banner, especially with the amount of stuff and rewards you can catch up on
Well...if you still have your "whale built" account, you can use it as a springboard and just not SPEND any more. Speaking as a FTP, Genshin is exceptionally fun without spending a penny!
(P.S. Yes, you CAN go to Sumeru and Fontaine without playing the related Archon quests, although the Archon quests are very worthwhile. If you burnt out on Inazuma, don't worry, they learned their lesson and they other two new countries are much less "burnout-able")
Glad to see you check out Jaiden Animations. She's one of my favorite TH-camrs. If you enjoyed this one, you should definitely check out her other stuff. I recommend her Pokémon Nuzlockes, her D&D game, her world record speedrun, the one where she did blindfolded Mario, the best Pokémon game you've never played, the darkest Pokémon game you've never played, the one where she tried a Digimon game, weird pet games... you know what, just check out all of her videos, they're great, especially the gaming ones.
The stories after Inazuma get so much better.... Every storyline in Sumeru had me bawling and 4.2 topped that

Others have pointed out her Pokémon nuzlocke animations, which are indeed very good, but I’d also like to recommend her video before this which was a summarized animation of her playing dnd for the first time.

If you do hop back on Genshin, doing Sumeru's story is worth getting through Inazuma's.
Inazuma was a bit frustrating for me to get through as well while playing. I found the Thunder Bird quest tedious (despite having an ending I'm particularly fond of), and Enkanomia was only able to do so much to make up for it. And the archon quest there didn't quite hit as hard as I was expecting.
So many high level enemies to fight, particularly annoying materials to farm for, and even the environment itself is hostile if you don't finish the thunderstorm side quest and Tatarasuna(?).
But Sumeru and Fontaine are gorgeous and worth it, both in exploration and story. In my opinion at least.
If you don't try it again, that's okay. No pressure, no worries.
Despite it having a lot of people playing it for multitudes of reasons, it's understandably not a game for everyone.
So just play the games you like and feel okay playing!

I think even if you leave, fate will always find a way to dissolve you becuase its a prophcy, created as punishment by the heavenly principle to account for the ancient sin of fontaine, and fate itself cannot easily be swayed, though the dendro archon has very little to no chance of changing fate. [Spoiler] Yet somehow, focalors manage to find a way to fulfill what is fated but also make that same fate false
Some of her videos I would suggest to react to would be her face reveal video, being not straight, her Pokémon Nuzlocke videos and her trip to Japan

Sumeru story was really good and Fontaine was fantastic.
Genshin's lore is fascinating, a problem it sometimes has is that it's delivered like a student trying to hit a word count (though some of that seems to be due to translation).
Also on the amount of content: like you I played early Genshin and was disappointed by the amount of content... and the Gacha
So I took a bit over a year break. And now I'm fighting tooth and nails in order to keep up with how much there is.

I love that you're a reaction youtuber that spends as much time watching the video as you do other things such as commentary, analysis, and insight.
Chuggaconroy has been uploading to youtube since 2008 and has pretty much done let's plays the entire time and is still doing them and doing them well and this is his first endeavor into the video essay format and i thought it was really good.

15:23 yes, really, the game is very easy, you can be underlevel, under prepare Unequip and playing whit any character other than amber and still defeat most obstacles on the game(i know by experience, i had forgoten to level up my characters, had forgoten artifacts existed, didn't knew you could level up weapons and skills, didn't used any food that gave buffs and still made it past the entirety of Mondstadt and Liyue, once i learned the previous thing i went from fighting the enemys to obliterating them)
16:58 There was not a small amaunt of content, even when it just came out. You remember it deeling like there was nothing to do because we had already done it all and were waiting for updates, but we had already gone trough docens of hours of completly free content by that point, i first intall it a week after it first came out and was overwelm by the amaunt of things to do, i spended weeks playing many hours a day before i ran out of things to do and had to wait(my friends called me an adict because despite them downloading it the same day it came out and consistently play it, i already has a higer player level than both of them after playing for only 3 days😅)
Have fun when you play again and get to Sumeru and Fontaine, they are awesome.

I am a mobile exclusive player for Genshin. Its much easier to play on mobile, i tried PC and was always accidentally setting off my Ults and wasting them.
However i tried star rail on the PC and find playing that on PC is much better
when i play genshin on my phone it runs at 1 fps and i click at random stuff accidentally

At least for me, I don't experience burnout because I only play Archon Quests and do a little bit of exploration and events if they happen to catch my attention, which isn't very often
I burned out, took a year off and now do events, intermittently main quests and daily on mobile.
It's done what Warframe mostly failed too and pulled me back ... though my exploration of Sumaru is minute.

Genshin is surprisingly well optimize for mobile, or at least it was for the first 2 years it came out, don't if it still is. My cellphone wasn't near to be high end by the time i bought it but genshin still run smothly and whitout any temperature increase on my cellphone, grnted i had to keep the grapics at a minimum and some later cutscenes got stuck a few times and i had to wach them on youtube XD.
You can easly play Genshin whitout expending any money on it, there is no real reason to do so other that the fear of missing our the comunity makes sure to instill on as many people as posible, just ignore them and enjoy the game, It's great whitout the need of getting a new 5 Star character nd weapon every month.

The OST in Fontaine is amazing at every corner. Just saying..
I have played this game without spending a cent on this game on any characters I got and the weapons. I got all my by getting achievements and getting it through the currencies u get from the achievements and spending it to get the tokens to roll for characters and weapons so I was just lucky. I also don't have money to spend any in the first place so this game was up my alley with just working hard on it to get what I wanted for characters and I got a bunch I love already

I mean, outside of the Archon Quest being too rushed, the rest of Inazuma was great, especially Raiden's second story quest, Tsurumi Island, and Enkanomiya.
@@lnsflare1 I agree. Kinda sad about it but I love Ruu's quest as well. But Tbf, Inazuma's exploration is kinda hassle than Sumeru and Fontaine as well.
@@Rem-hb4os Honestly, I like the hassle, especially since it's generally mitigated by solving quests, upgrading the Sacred Sakura, and unlocking waypoints. You have to *earn* Inazuma's map, but once you do you can go everywhere pretty easily.
Then again, I enjoyed exploring Dragonspine.
