I was on this flight.. do a search now and again just to relive it and came across this.. Great video.. and news to me that it was a maintenance issue! Virgin said it was a fault out of their control when we first went to them for compensation and there was no claim to be made 😮

Why did the actuator being inverted result in a fluid leak. Did the hoses get damaged as a result of different positions of the upper and lower fluid connections.

So the maintenance crew had a 50/50 chance of installing that part correctly. Let me tell you those odds are not good. I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve installed something that can go in two ways and got it wrong on the first attempt. It’s uncanny how bad 50/50 odds are.

It seems the best way to understand more of how an aeroplane works and the engineering of it is to watch the videos about the incidents as presenters like you would have to explain the tech details of the failing part or parts and how they should correctly put up and/or repaired in order to make sure the aeroplane will be safe. Thanks.

I don't remember if you do this in your other videos, but in this one I didn't quite understand what the problem was with the upside down installation. Maybe a picture or a model of how it should be installed vs how it actually was installed on this airplane would've helped me understand it a bit better.
